Title Immortal Samsara: Part 2 Spoiler
"Finally, finally I have a FATHER" -YingYuan"My good son" -XuanYe
"Those who live truly stable lives will live all their lives happily. There is no need to make wishes on sky lanterns."

This is another of my fav. YY as a god reiterating that mortals are responsible for their own happiness.

From the beginning, YY always watched YD as she walked away from him and I'd like to think he kept waiting to see if she would turn and look back. And the one time she did, he was so happy :)

best xianxia ever"IN ADULT"I'm very sorry for those who will ignore this drama due to inappropriate and low ratingIt…
Absolutely!

As much as I love the lovey-dovey cutesy romantic dramas which I watch, feel good about momentarily and forget, it’s dramas like these with such beautifully fleshed out characters that stay with me.

On the other hand.... After watching 6 episodes, the ending was not as bad as I had imagined..... The ending builds…
I like what you said about YD taking her time with her feelings. Nobody else has the right to dictate how we should feel or how long we should grieve for. And I applaud YD for showing us that.

And about YY being drunk, I think, apart from needing a little liquid courage to be that vulnerable in front of someone he loved, it was also a time he was momentarily at peace in his mind to be able to focus wholeheartedly on how he was feeling. Every other time, I feel like he was either busy saving the world or ensuring that YD is having a good time/is safe or being shut down by her whenever he brought up what he wanted to say. I think this was the only time he felt “safe” to express how he felt cos he thought it was a dream and so, YD would simply listen to what he has to say. :) But yes, I would like a sober and very deliberate kiss too.

Me too :(

The dialogues were so apt and on point. And it just showed us what a kind and compassionate man Ying Yuan was! He did not hold it against Xuan Ye for what he has done - he only explained what could have been and made Xuan Ye realize how much he's lost because of his shortsightedness to gain something so fleeting. "It is not the length of our life but how we live it that matters." Ying Yuna's dialogue of "When there is a fixed time limit on our lives, we learn to value what we have." hit me so much! We lose sight of what's important in our race for something "more" that one day we wake up and see that we don't have enough time. And this made me understand perfectly well why he wants to become mortal.

I just love Ying Yuan so much!

You've said it the best - it's just a 'sad' ending, not a 'bad' one :)

Also, let me just say, I was so dang happy with that kiss. As much as I enjoyed all their tiny touches and flirting and YY being naughty, it wouldn’t have felt right to me if they had kissed earlier as there was so much of tension due to the unresolved issues between them. But this kiss was so heart-felt and, initiated by YD which was even better. Felt like rain after a long drought. Another scene done so well! I was watching them while smiling through my tears and had unconsciously clasped my hands on my heart.

I’m coming in here just to drop a short note to say, please watch eps 54-59 simultaneously. Do not jump right…
Absolutely right! I watched all 6 episodes in one go as it was that riveting and I am so satisfied! I think I can also see why they did the express release for these episodes cos the story just suddenly picks up and everything gets so interconnected.

So HQ actually did purposely save/exclude YY from his wicked scheme during the Deity-Demon war by dumping him on that mountain while he off-ed everyone else! I was glad to hear that he put some value into their friendship albeit so miniscule.

I have to repeat this - Cheng Yi and Yang Zi have done such an amazing job!! I also think all the other actors did great justice to their roles but whenever these two were on screen, I couldn't see anything beyond Ying Yuan and Yan Dan!

When everyone was saying it has a sad ending I thought maybe one of them choose responsibility over love. So I…
Oh bless you for pointing that out about Yan Dan...she didn't let Ying Yuan go alone :)

Ying Yuan sacrificed for the people and Yan Dan followed him. I cannot even imagine how she would have lived on without him. Her feelings for him were so deep that she couldn't even forgive him till the very end. It broke my heart when Ying Yuan said " You have forgiven Tang Zhou. But you haven't forgiven Ying Yuan." That made me cry so much :(

I absolutely loved it so far! I cried so much and if fictional characters in a drama can move me to tears, it means it's done its job. :)

Wow what a ride!!!!!!! I don't see this as an ending even if they don't release additional episodes (although, Ying Yuan Dijun, wherever you are, I am sending you my wish on a lantern that they do release those last 2 episodes and show us how you and your beloved Yan Dan are doing. I sincerely hope you're sitting in the little house where you're staying with her, drinking tea, teasing her and, daring her to break another one of your weiqi puzzles).

I am so damn happy to have met a character like Ying Yuan. What a self-less, righteous, amazing person! I was so so pleased with the scenes between him and Yan Dan and all the conversations that they had. All so meaningful and filled with so much emotion. I heaved a sigh of relief at his apology to Yan Dan and said to myself "Finally! This is what she needed all along to let go of that last bit of resentment she felt." I understood better now why Yan Dan pushed him away in that cupboard. I love that they addressed all the past hurts and had such honest conversations. Yan Dan's question of "Who fulfills the wishes of immortals?" was so fitting. I hope Ying Yuan's answer of "Immortals fulfill their own, but only you can fulfill mine." made her think of how even though he was the sovereign lord, he was still a vulnerable man waiting for her to return his feelings. I love him for being so patient with her. And making her feel safe to be herself with him without any expectations. I won't be forgetting Ying Yuan anytime soon.

And Ying Yuan's meeting with his father! Man! First off, what an entrance by Xuan Ye in that illusion! His stance, that smirk and the raised eyebrow! So this is where Ying Yuan gets his attitude from :) I cried during the entire conversation. Talk about breaking generational cycles and traumas! And when Rang Qing called him Yuan'er...oh my heart! I am so glad that scene happened! There was so much healing and closure. Xuan Ye, I hope you've found your peace and are eating peaches with your beloved Rang Qing.

Yan Dan - thank you for your bravery, devotion and loyalty. And your intelligence! All the best plans were yours!!!!!! If Ying Yuan showed us he how he took care of 3 realms and all the people in them, you showed us how you took care of your little world and all your people in it :)

Yumo - the best friend anyone could ever have! He saw Yan Dan as a kindred spirit I think since he knew that she was also one of the last surviving members of her clan. I love how he accepted Ying Yuan into his fold and took it for granted that what he would do for Yan Dan, he would also do for Ying Yuan. I love how this is a good example of how a healthy, mature relationship between people who have feelings for each other can be. Loads of respect, loyalty and just genuine love for each other.

Huan Qin - he might seem like a petty person for being so evil for the sake of a little ambition but I can imagine how low his self-esteem is to take something like not being promoted to Sovereign Lord to heart and launch such a meticulous plan!!! He even fell in love with someone who is as damaged as he is! (I finally see Tao Zi Qi for who she is and I have to say, her actress was amazing!) You attract what you are! I pity Xing Xuan :(

One another note, producers and directors really like to make Cheng Yi fight against Cheng Yi!

I really enjoyed this. So many life lessons and take-aways. Did I wish it ended on a visually happy note? Most definitely yes! But I also see it as a natural conclusion to who they are as characters. And, it's a terrible pity if this aspect of the story cannot be translated well on screen and if the actors and crew get a lot of flak in return for all the hard work they put into this :(

Thanks for sharing. He is getting thinner everyday 😢
I read somewhere that actors that do a lot of costume dramas stay purposefully thin as they want to be able to wear all those layers and not look big on screen....I wonder if that's a legit reason. Luo Yunxi is another actor I find alarmingly thin and he too does quite a bit of costume dramas. And recently, I find Zhang LingHe has lost tonnes of weight and he's in lots of costume dramas.
