Can someone post the YT link for the ep 15 preview please? I have been looking for over an 1hr using various search terms. I've read the comments here but those links are BTS or the cast in modern clothes.
I just want the preview. That's it. Thank you so much.
The CBIZ ent one for 14- 15 is not the one I'm looking for. I don't need a commentary. I just want the preview. That voiceover was darn irritating
I agree with everything you said, except about the female actress. Some of the makeup and hairstyles are an issue.…
Aesthetically the other actresses look conventionally pretty.
The FL has distinctive looks. She actually looks better in this drama compared to her previous works as thankfully she has ? Put on some weight on her face. I'm currently obsessed with why the stylist is putting on the orange eyeshadow around her eyes.
There's a lot of plastic surgery on set. You can see all the minor supporting roles looking good as they do. Then you hit the extras where they look like the typical Chinese.
She us ine Chinese drama actress who doesn't have the typical looks but keeps getting roles. Good on her.
What's wrong with Lovely Runner and Dare to love me, Wedding impossible and The midnight romance in the hagwon.
I am actually waiting till ep 20 before I start this drama.
I have only just started Queen of tears yesterday. I like the very young male lead and based on the comments its going to be hard waiting till episode 20.
I just started on episode 2. Its not a melodrama where you'd cry and cry. I was laughing. I will tell you though if the subs continue like it does I am going to switch it off. Ive had to rewatch a few scenes already because the Korean writing is fine. Its got omph and impact. The bloody Netflix subs takes away the punchline and impact.
I might start episode 3 raw and see if I can survive without subs. After all I didn't care about the family politics anyway and this show has an astounding supporting class. I am here to watch the acting.
There has been other dramas where the leads have had degenerative diseases and where they die. Even DP was gutsy. Hospital Playlist made me tear up especially the scenes about the missed abortion and organ donations. You get the melodrama vibes.
This drama so far? Not even a single tear. So go watch it. This one? Zero.
I finally found time to start this drama but had to pause balfway though episode 2. Its complex and not a drama where you can watch while being busy with sometbing. Pausing and resuming is so disruptive.
I was checking on the episodes so not much is a spoiler to me. KSH looks the same like he did in Dream High yet I can see how he aged as well. His make up in pretty thick? Why did they do that? He looks so good and youthful and the thick make up made him look caked and older. I thought the natural look was in. He is an extremely good actor as you all know.
Currenntly since I am in episode 2 am waiting to see how they fell in love in college when episode 1 said they were were both shinip sawon. They seem to have met in the company.
Either way I have had to pause and rewatch a few scenes already. I have grown complacent and watched subbed dramas on viki for the last year and forgotten how subs from Netflix were. Guess this drama will take me longer than anticipated to finish with all these serious depths to the episodes. And the subtitles which were not on point and takes away the impact. I am almost tempted to switch it off and just watch it raw.
I anticipated this drama so much before it aired and after hearing how much crying was happening decided to hold off. Its such a relief to be finally watching it.
Wow the set stylist is so bad. The sets are so dated with all the gold everywhere. Its like the nouveau riche look. The sxript is so contrived.
Luckily I skipped through it. Look at the men's looks and how they are styled. Eeks what a turn off.
Tbe father is styled the most appropriate of the whole lot of them.
Why was it written like that? My God why would someone fall for someone like Bai Su? A 42 year old American educated plastic surgeon and a loud mouth ingenue sort of character who is LOUD. So so LOUD and all the plastic surgery talk and trying to make her appear ambitious?
My god the writer is bad. The acting is totally great. Its the writing, the styling that is horrendous and cringing.
The Male Lead's closest friend reminds of American actor Richard Gere in OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, which becomes…
HAHAHA that's hilarious. He has a more plump face compared to some of the other Chinese actors. I always wonder why he always absolutely get the losing end of the stick in all the dramas I've seen him in. It's his face shape. If you could give him a salt/ pepper hair and put him in a Navy uniform?
What happened to Chen Hong Jun please? I passed by some episodes. Extremely well made and acted drama. Its bloody lovely just that I am not in the mood for this type of drama.
So CHJ not being in the ep 38 and looking like YeFang being alone is bugging me.
This drama is absolutely beautiful. Ive only watched 4 episodes and it is so good.
These are hagwon teachers. They hold their college admission in their hands. I would be egoistic if I can guarantee…
This is a drama. A bad teacher who did not reach targets or % of students scorimg well will not have a job.
I am not going to answer that because that is the whole educational system. Howevee there are always people who cared more about their pride and success over the welfare of their subordinates.
You must have met egoistic or confident reachers before right?
Also hierarchy is a massive thing in S Korea. Korean drama sanitises a lot of things. Maybe you sbould start reading about bullying during national service. Or how university lecturers ask how much or too much from the students. That includes international students being asked to translate their researcb articles- this is a true story.
Anyway I watch Kdrama for entertainment. If you want a social commentary- you need to read articles. Then you can decide what is the truth vs drama writing. You might want to read up on Korean values, Confucian values and see how that fits into the teacher bullying people. And in any other drama where there is a leader bullying. I am sure there are inspiring teachers in real life otherwise there won't be any dramas around about them.
If 90 or 100% of the egoistic teacher's students made tbe grades I would believe his words too. Results speaks for itself. The methods might be suss though.
what a start, for the first time i am glad to be watching an on air drama.learning a lot about korean education…
These are hagwon teachers. They hold their college admission in their hands. I would be egoistic if I can guarantee my students would get into medicine or law in Korea University etc.
Using an analogy here.
Technically recent news articles have been coming out about teachers being abused by parents. Then you need to read articles about hagwon in S Korea.
Then the other thing about teaching graduates needing to study to pass the teaching exams which are hard. I know a few teachers and also know people who graduated well from the top universities. I would not do well in the Korean educational system but heck yeah if someone can promise my parents I could 100% get into Yonsei I expect that teacher to be confident and boastful too.
I keep on seeing comments comparing this to one spring night. Is there anyone who likes this show so far but did…
I watched the director's previous dramas. I didn’t like the actors or the story. Personal preferences. I watched it but totally not to my taste. It was filmed beautifully, great acting, story was smooth but still not my type of plot. I didn't get excited over the forbidden romance nor coo over the kisses. I actually thought the female lead was too placid. She had backbone in the end but just so uninteresting. I am going to offend a lot of fans but you guys have to understand; I don't need to have the same taste as you.
However having a bold, decisive female lead excites me. You don't get success in a competitive industry by sitting back.
So if you couple that will good writing, good cinematography because your director is proven; then good acting and actors with chemistry then its a win- win situation. The only issue I have is that its another noona- dongsaeng romance. I want them to have kids. If you write a great couple why can't they end with a happy family with children? Yes some people will say happiness doesn't need to include children. Putting aside these comments about my comment I would again assert that just as you like what you want I can state what I like.
So yeah I was thrilled when this drama started. Plot is everything you know. Not just acting, directing and chemistry. I cannot enjoy a drama when its stupid or there is a plot I don't like. There are reasons why I haven't watched Reborn Rich, DP, Taxi etc. I didn't like the plot.
I already started smiling when I watched episode 1. I suffered through One Spring Night hoping it will change its relentless story. It just felt like something I had to finish because I thought things would change because the director was so good and had actors I trusted. Omg now I remember- I only watched it because of her insufferable ex. I liked the actor there but never seen him before. Then I fell for him in Hospital Playlist in his next role. He also didn't get the girl.
Don't think so. I am not going to have the kid be an orphan. So no. Maybe the writers will write better endings next time because viewers don't like these sort of endings.
Why? I am about to start then found out about the ending. I don't want to read more and more spoilers. Can you please explain why they had to kil themselves? I realise there is a daughter.
These Chinese dramas.... why do they feel the need for tragedy?
Nope. Can't find it. Er. Have to give up and do itother things.
I just want the preview. That's it. Thank you so much.

The male lead is so masculine and sexy in red. We are absolutely sure he is only 22?
I have to laugh as every female is better looking than the female lead.
I am actually waiting till ep 20 before I start this drama.

This comment strikes me as funny because Shadows of you is also zhwoong. It has fhe same actor.
I am not going to answer that because that is the whole educational system. Howevee there are always people who cared more about their pride and success over the welfare of their subordinates.

Yucks.
This is will be a pass. Thanks.
These Chinese dramas.... why do they feel the need for tragedy?
I don't need gore, shrieking parents, idiotic second leads, endless torture, multiple deaths as you do in the palace dramas.
Even the concubines and main wives got along here. Very happy with this drama.
