You can subscribe to viki because it has multiple dramas from other dramas.

My friends subscribe to iQIYI and We TV for Chinese dramas.

I am also watching it on viki. I have been on viki way before all the dramas started being licensed. So the viki staff and their overseas team- way of negotiations- was something we know when they started negotiating for licenses. I used to help in the viki drama teams. The English subs currently on viki drops so fast that its obvious its from the license provider. I can understand both Mandarin and Korean so am finding issues with the way its done. Technical preference. I prefer verbatim subs vs certain style of making it easier for the American audiences. I am not from the US. I am just commenting on the sibtitles. And explaining why viki releases are slower than on WeTV and iQIYI

It wasn't on my radar but I'd go for anything with a solid plot and couple chemistry.

I will watch this to the end. I acknowledge how shallow I am. Its because of Bai Lu and the actor playing Yu You. The writing sucks. The directing is not the issue. Its the directing and couple chemistry.

So I am off to start these other 2. I am waiting for more episodes of the 2 other new dramas. Ive already dropped The Furthest Distance as the writing is that bad.

Actually if ignore Dylan playing the male lead; the behaviour is such a turn off. He is actually a possessive person. And I am talking possessive vs being confident or trusting your partner.

Shallow me is still watching because its Dylan. The chemistry is just not there.

All of you watching off the streaming sites didn't pay for English subs rights did we? I noticed the VIU tag at the bottom of the screen. That's a paid TV station that pays for the English subtitles.

If you check the main station releasing the episodes there will be a VIP vs a general episode release.

Episode 15- 16 if you watch off those regular streaming sites are watching it illegally.

That's actually a dangerous thing to do as a female. She is not behaving in a safe manner. Lets not even talk about professional boundaries here. This drama has stomped all over it.

I would brush it all aside otherwise you wouldn't be able to watch it. Her accompanying him to meet the Zhanlan CEO is an example. Did you see how she dressed for the actual interview?


Its safe to say it's all labelled under artistic license.

It got interesting in episode 16. The writer must have decided since it's the halfway point. I laughed as I observed this.

The main couple is moving forward. The 2nd couple is defining the relationship so its not even near each other. The 3rd couple is at opposite end of the room- one wants to move forward; the other end is putting the brakes.

If you put the 3 parallel to each other its laughable. Symmetrically interesting but amusing.

Sorry. I do read a lot of books and by very accomplished novelists. That's why episode 16 amused me a lot and it took me away from the actors.

I actually like the 3rd girl's response to the rejection today. Classy.

The thing with this drama though is that it actually has a lot of behaviour and lines used by douchebags, stalkers, egoistic, emotionally damaged characters in other dramas. However they cast such a beautiful group of actors saying such technically or behaving in such an inmmature manner. If you just listen to the lines without Shi-yi saying or thinks, or how the 2nd couple FL behaves; its all very self- destructive behaviour.

However because such people are on screen I accept it. I feel very shallow watching this but I guess this is why I am still watching. I don't know whether to be appalled at myself or not. After this I'm going to go rewatch another drama where the couples are in a healthy relationship and the whole drama has them developing a healthy relationship.

I've finished studying by the way so take what I say with a grain of salt. Everyone Asian I know at work got through their training because of dramas. What do we want to talk about? Work? Heck no... dramas? Yes please.

We have all finished our post graduate studies so yes you can watch dramas and pass. Just keep it within your timeframe and no extensions.

I started ep 1 yesterday amd keep plugging away till ep 11.

I actually went to check on the screen writer and director. The director is extremely experienced. The screenwriter is 31 years old.

I don't want to read in case I get spoilers for ep 12 and beyond.

I love Bai Lu and I do like Wei Zhe Ming. Dylan is his usual good looking self. I even like the chief editor and the Guan father. Even one of the colleagues in the financial magazine is the FL for another school drama


So don't get me wrong I like the cast. Even the ex- boyfried or rather the actor.

Who the heck is responsible for trying to write as if they are too smart by trying to do or attempting to make the main couple doing the mysterious or hidden meaning conversations? Its like the conversations here are full of hidden meaning like the writer is trying to be sophisticated. My gosh, its irritating to watch. I can see it consistently throughout because I was binge watching.

I guess its justified and excusable because you know everyone will say its a drama but eish- the FL is behaving like what you would otherwise see in the 2FL or someone making a move on the ML.

The main couple is so good looking but their actions so sleazy if it was anyone else. Its not even flirting as such. If it wasnt Bai Lu I would be so turned off. I don't normally defend the female sex or act all huffy about female journalists using their looks and more to get more co operation during their interviews because face it- it happens in real life. Both male and females in the work force.

Its just that I have watched other dramas where there is a rich CEO. And there is a competent, talented opposite FL. Or vice versa. In other dramas.

But why is there such a stellar cast of actors and such an experienced director, such good props and dressing/make up- and I am watching such low brow interactions? Its not coming off as seductive or sophisticated flirting before mutual attraction explodes. Its packaged so prettily but man... the execution is icky.

The whole completing the final draft in his house and young Dylan trying to come off restrained but somehow supposed to be sexy in that velvet pajamas that is not a pajamas and drinking wine? That didn't come out as a good couple scene. It just felt inappropriate vs being sexy.


Anyway I am going to get flamed I know. Sigh. Yes I am goimg to finish it because I wamt to see what happens with Yu You. The poor double PhD character being written with a young lazy but smart shophaholic female.

Some of you guys watching have got Masters and PhDs right? Sometimes I wince when a writer just throws educational credentials around lik3 its so easy. I already snorted how the writer built up the FL with so little experience. She just did a double degree right? And has only graduated within the last 5 years or so right?

Ok rant over. Onto ep 12.

Then I am going to rewatch some of their better written dramas to sooth myself and convimce myself that its the writing that is the issue. Wasn't she playing an economics graduate in an older drama? She was so smart yet dignified at thesame time as being so pretty and able to be flirtatious with the ML. I thought she was great. I might need to watch that drama concurrently with this.

Okaa... ay I was busy this weekend and stepped at ep 14 but was reading about ep 15 and 16. Looks like I'm skipping 17 and 18..

I know when the break up happens. So see you guys at the end. I plan to fast fw on Nov 14.

Now back to my new drama with Dylan and catching up on the new Park Boyoung drama. At least it is a proper story about mental health. Hahaha.

I also cannot understand why the older brother cannot be the male lead. Not that I think he is but if he is Ki- ho is he supposed to be then?

Either way I couldn't work out the deduction logic in this forum that's all. So the Korean identity system is full of loopholes and their parents lied about the age and producing a 2nd son out of thin air with a missing birth certificate.

O m g. How much do I love this drama? Episode 3 totally made my Sunday morning. If I could bottle up Mok-ha I would.

Don't know where this drama is heading but since I bought cried and laugh; I wish good ratings for the drama.

Now going back to listen to the songs. I am actually scared of Ji-ho's dad. I thought he'd be gone but he is still there. He sounds dangerous.

And not that I care that much but is there a male lead? I cannot work out who it is.

This drama is looking good. I'm looking forward to episode 4.

It only aired on Friday night so its only been under 48 hours. I haven't had time to finish it since some of us are busy on a weekend.
