It sounds like I need to rewatch Flourished Peony again since I have forgotten so many scenes. I can remember how irritating some characters were. Man it sucks that I have to rewatch it because I need to remember the main couple's interactions. I literally skipped ep 2- 9 the first time round as I didn't want to watch that marriage.

Ah but the execution is everything. The casting, the directing- timing for each scene, lighting, budget for costumes, the fight scene team and trainers/ wire work, the physique of the actors- the built for the role/ ability, the background music, the bloody lighting- spotlights too bright/ LED lanterns everywhere/ cheesiness effect, the stupid fireworks and sky lanterns- those damn green screen imposed fireworks some look good some look too obvious, the make up...
All those make a repeated trope good and watchable. And then there are the terribly executed ones.
How many variations can you get anyway? Its the law of probabilities.
Because its spoilers for some of us waiting to watch once it completes. Not everyone needs to spill their guts for each episode. I am thinking about some who comment 1- 2 line comments in a row. And they usually contain so many exclamation marks.
