It was definitely romantic love at least from SW's end. Her feelings aren't lustful though...it's love in it's…
I can accept a secret love. Their relationship was definitely supportive and they would both die for each other. But people in that time period- they can love but they can also restrain. That's why I was advocating for pure love vs mutual physical relationship. They are a family unit of 2 women and a child. Anyway I need to catch up on Good Boy and I will leave it for this weekend when the drama ends. I am more invested in how they will sort out Mi Rae's depression and suicidal thoughts- they will recurr, Mi- Ji's self esteem and Ho- Su's likely life changing medical disability. These are massive issues to be dealt with in 2 episodes.
Me? I was just putting my replies based on the comments below. SW could be in love but she could have NOT acted on it. It was just that the comments below had to make it a physical relationship. The odd thing is that this was like the 1970-1980s conservative S Korea and we have a bisexual and lesbian relationship comments pop up here. There. I put it out in the open. I have no issues with it in real life. I am talking in the context for this drama. For that time period in Korea. I also don't feel strongly enough to engage in a debate about whether it happened or not. It's not really important to me plot-wise. I was just countering the comments below about it to say not all relationships in the world needs to involve a physical relationship. Sang Wol was like a naive person putting someone on a pedestal. She was also quite self- sacrificing. We have seen enough of these in multiple dramas.
The actress has 23 and the ML has 40, not 36 and 18And you cannot watch dramas from China, Japan and Korea through…
Yes thanks. That was why I said 19 years old. She filmed that when she was very young. I have caught up to the current episodes. She looks about 14 years old if I am feeling generous.
@tpatricio93. I have zero issues about the ages of the real historical brides. I am East Asian myself by the way and from a very traditional family. One side of the family has traced its roots and a 500+ year family tree. I also have a very rare family name which links to the scholars etc. My maternal side even a family home even though it's been generations since the elders left.
The point is that its not the history. Its the fact that I've been watching 30+ year olds trying to play the 14-18 year old in the historical dramas. They look great, youthful and can act. However when you actually cast an actress who looks in that age bracket the contrast is massive. It looks like a baby or a young teenager playing grown up. Its jarring.
I have caught up. The budget is lower so I will accept it that the higher paid experienced actresses rejected the role. It's also silly. I can still watch it but I've fast forward quite a bit. At this point I've gone beyond the FL lead's looks to the male lead. I have been absolutely fascinated at the thick foundation on his face. His complexion is perfect now. I spent each scene marvellng at his face. I've stopped looking at the female lead. She reminds of a young Jung Ryeo Won.
I don't have issues with the stories. It's already silly and I am watching it. I don't care how old the character is. It's the 36 year old actor paired with a 19 year old actress. They were cast as the main leads. There are a gadzillion younger actors around. The Cdrama industry have cast enough young looking, scrawny actors and try to make them imposing or appear masculine. They do that in a lot of dramas.
No need to get upset. I was looking for behind the scenes gossip. It's a Monday. I am going back to real life and work.
Whats going to happen to Ho-su? This is not a rainbow and unicorn sort of drama. I am sort of dreading it.
By the way, can't people be besties without having any physical intimacy implications? Not everything has to be sexual love. People were sincere and honest back then.
I had a friend who had his medical school studies overseas paid by their uncle. Or an aunt who took in a young relative for life until she died. People who looked after each other even if they were not blood relations. This was a different generation ago
It might be true but not everything has to fall under the LBQGT label.
Honestly, I like Mirae and I’m not trying to dismiss her experience but would her case be considered sexual…
The law? Sexual assault.
Why? It only has to happen once.
I am more shocked that its a query. Attempted kiss when the victim says no and then presses charges? Assault. Criminal act. Workplace- HR, meeting, dismissal I hope.
In the workplace? Sexual assault is also not acceptable. Harassment is not a single incident.
In one of writers previous weekenders called wolgyesu tailor, ML did get married and we had a few eps of married…
Oops. I had to convert. 12 Celcius. Thats the high.
59 Fahrenheit is also the highest temp of the day. The low is 41 Fahrenheit.
100 Fahrenheit. Yeah its hot. We classify heatwave if we get more than 3 days of 95. We are unfortunate in that we get 105 regularly enough in summer. I live in Australia and kids still have surf training in your 95 heat and competition. I burn. Its so hot.
The reviews made me laugh so now I have to watch this. I am on pause at ep 35 The Princess Royal then another historical drama where 2 more characters will die.
Then 2 Kdramas where mental health are real issues. So yeah this drama with no plot but chemistry? I am so for it.

She called him " oppa" which basically doesn't even mean honey. You can call any older male oppa if you're friends with them. I mean if you don't want to call them xyz- ssi. Even my sons are oppa to younger girls. And they call slightly older fenales " noona. "
yh lol after a while you stop caring if its gonna be he anyway lol but it is he
True. I am just going to watch the last episode. I literally got tired off all the blame game. I went off to watch The Princess Royal. Came back for the last episode. And that's it.
Are we reaching the angsty part of the drama NOW? Its episode 41. We should be reaching the sweet part of the series now.
Every single relationship is hitting some angst except for brother no 3 and 5. Five is not even starting.
Why is Chairman's dating life hitting another obstacle? Gwang Seok moving out is already difficult enough without this extra obstacle. I want to see her married life and not her getting married in like ep 49. Like seriously man....
Let me get this right? The ml was 36 years old. That's fine for a male lead.
There are a lot of older actresses playing 16 to 18 year olds. Some of them are over 30. So when I see a real 19 year old actress she looks like a baby. She looked so young in Youthful Glory and now she really, really looks extremely young. Even the body built is like someone from junior high school.
Was there a reason why they cast such an age difference?

Then who is Xuanwei and why is he importsnt? Thanks.
So besides that, its all on the writer.
