I am trying to work my head round why this drama is bugging me. This is a xianxia drama right? That usually means wirework and swirling wind blown fights. Leaping across or flying to the roof top or tree tops.
That talisman is so CGI. That scorpian so obviously plastic like.
I went to dramawiki to check out the director, PDs, writer etc.
Its the wirework or fight sequence. Is it me or is each episode about 30 to 50% CGI and zero fight scenes? There are no fight scenes are there?
There is the finger swirling and a CGI blast. Or the sword blast.
The FL lead just stands and then there is the outward CGI blast.
The ML's has aged a lot in like 2 years. The make up is so thick and he looks too tired for a 25 year old. I even checked the filmimg date. 3 months.
So between her white and pink caked make up, his thick make up and him looking exhausted, then them basically standing still and just magical blue or yellow swirling effects- what the heck am I watching again?
I stopped at ep 8. I am waiting till ep 16 to marathon again. Or maybe its better in 2 episode doses.
I am trying to work out what this drama is trying to tell. Besides her trying to look young but she can't act in her early 20s when she is in her mid 30s and she doesn't suit an ingenue role
What's the Realms, god, spirit, inter clan fighting etc?
Its literally one hand or one finger, he stays still and the sword works on its own. Or the finger on its own.
I checked it with zero expectations and didn’t even know it was coming. 4 episodes in and I am sitting basking in a pleasant glow.
Let's just say a higher budgeted drama has been dissapointing. And the 2 of the 3 Korean dramas I was following has become dull and plodding.
This isn't earth shattering but I really like the 2 main leads. I also recognise the supporting cast. That means surprisingly I like that Jing lady.
Miles Wei is just so pleasant to watch. I like the female lead's maturity. Its all so civilised. I remembered that he got this spoilt rich kid in his last drama. I was pretty peeved off. I am happier he has someone pleasant this round
Even the scenes at the beginning and end of each episode looks angst- free. The airing calendar doesn't have broken hearts or bonbs detonating.
What was up with that ending? Having a little kid narrating (badly) and recapping the story is a weird choice.…
The saving grace is that it was 14 episodes.
The children were just terrible actors. The first kid was a cliched studious child and that terrible camera work. It was obviously made to pan badly.
And an absolutely atrocious way to decide or to discover why they did not have children after 6 years. Its fine if they didn't want to but that's something to discuss preferably before marriage. And their kid although cute was just ok
That was actually the worst episode of the seriea. They way the parents scene unfolded was nuts.
I've just finished ep,1. What is the novel like? Fun and campy or serious with blood and gore?
The male lead has such thick eyeliner on. The actress cannot play a young ingenue anymore. Her make up is so thick there no pores or natural skin colour is showing through. I've watched her last 2 dramas as well.
The music is jazzy and did I hear a whole brass section going off? The music is too modern.
Why did they do a xianxia and have mo traditional instruments being used?
Let's not talk about the bad CGI.
I mean I was looking forward to it sincee the cast can act but the writing and directing seems too campy.
I am looking for a drama to watch you see. My sweet mobster is ending so is Miss Night and Day. Serendipity's embrace ends in 2 weeks. I am genuinely looking for a daily episode drama to watch. I've finished As Beautiful as you and The Double. I am noy watching Love you forever.
wtf is happening??? the series started really nice but I don't know wth is going on
Nothing. It started full of drama tropes and its going with it. Its predicatable and sweet.
Nothing surprising. We are on the last 25% of the story so confession or rather mutual confession should come soon. Otherwise it would the classic drama trope of being at the last 10 minutes
Last 25%.
2nd couple done. 2ML and potential FL gone. Business crisis has to happen.
Have we done the accidental kiss yet? The mutual confession yet?
The happy couple times yet?
This doesn't SEEM to be the accident happens to FL or ML or amnesia type of drama.
There are a lot of flashbacks here. I am not sure if I'd love this as a 16 episode drama but it's certainly good as an 8 episode drama finishing in 2 weeks.
Its so slow paced that I can't wait for the romance to start. I am unsure if the couple actually has chemisty. The actors can certainly act but can't feel the soark. Yet.
Addit- I rewatched it 3 more times and listened as well to see what I missed. I still don't see the confession time. He only said he was sincere about the marriage part. There isn't a direct confession of love. People get married because they want to get married and not a confesssion be liked or love her. Zilch.
Well that went better than I anticipated and the ep 11 preview was also unexpected.
How surprising. And it all ends on Friday. I think I like this format. It delivers the goods, has no prolonged angst and has no time for extra characters or multiple couples.
The actress is 17 but the actor is now 23 years old, not 27. So, he is basically 6 years elder to her. So it was…
Anyway this discussion has gone on enough. I won't be watching this drama. However its just that i don't routinely check that people are legal adults in dramas.
I had to double check the epjsode number. Its episode 9 of a 32 episode drama and I am glowing. This. Is what a romance drama should be like.
I totally. Totally about drop my phone when he pulled his first move today. " fanning myself. "
I am very satisfies with the fan service today.
Good lord.
And I just discovered I like the actor as I went to rewatch him in the Dylan Wang drama and then rewatching I may love you.
Now are those flowers real? The price of roses have gone up so much I can't afford a bouquet. This is not even at the florist but at the market.

The writing is quite bad for this one
K**sh..
Ep 14's contents were cringy fluff.

Thank you.
By the way its only hours since it aired right? And with no spoiler tags everywhere guess i can't come until I finish ep 16.

Maybe a time abroad and time lapse?
Who knows? So many cliches possiblities.

I might as well catch up on my other dramas.
