I watched The Old Guard 1 last night. It was a great action movie. Looking forward to watching 2 soon. Anyway, I kind of understand what you wrote. But I guess historical C-drama are many based on actual events, that's why they all come out something similar. Story of palace politics, wars, political marriage, wars among concubines and its backup, game of throne grabbing and so one. Therefore, these are the dramas currently popular among C-viewers, so it may continue as long as there are demands from its people.
BTW, I am a fan of C-drama, especially historical dramas. Bcoz they are something out of this modern world. I know many has flaws but I am so used to them 😂 If it's fiction, I recommend ' Three body' and ' Ripe Town'. These are very unique C-drama and entertaining. I don't know if they are Oscar worthy but I like them very much!

I feel like Original scrip Ep 1. = FATE. I wonder once this fate is changed by FL herself, she will be out of dream (scrip) ? But no matter what happened, she seems to be back to where FL was in Ep 1 !!!
I hope Emperor's toughness is the true father's love towards ML, to protect him from harm, to teach him to be mentally and physically strong for his future position !! Otherwise, my heart aches for ML ....... I know for sure he knows ML truly loves FL, so he made his wish to come true,,.. arrrhhh... this drama is so hard to predict what's next......, that's why I LOVE IT so much ❤️
This is the most unique C-drama that has 2 parallel lines, an ancient and a modern. One sec, it brings me to typical deep palace politics drama, then next second the modern light hearted laughter. (I hope someone understand my non-native ENG explanation). Writing this type of script must be really hard. One mistake, it can be a disaster. Well written script!
