Omg perhaps more disturbingly is that as women we have come to expect less of men and we've been desensitized?…
Physical violence is quite rare in most communities when it comes to infidelity. I see this bitch slapping in korean dramas....and candid social media videos from China ( some districts have set ups to beat up mistresses in public. Its crazy considering sometimes some women don't know they are dating someone married) I have yet to see someone being splashed with water at a restaurant and I dine out a lot. If I existed in a drama I'd have seen lots of that by now.....
I posted this on Reddit: how about this spin So Won (pregnant mistress) is out for revenge against BHR. We never…
Ooh i'd so love for this twist to be true. However from the past works of this writer that I've watched, she's not much for settting up plot twists and intrigue ( with reference to Apgujeong Midnight Sun and New Tales of Gisaeng ) Maybe she took leaf from Penthouse lol....I think the writers are trippin high on that one
To all the femnazis,a netflix series called sexlife is trending where a female lead cheating is justified because…
Its all commercially motivated. Most dramas in Asia on love, marriage yada yada have female viewers, naturally the protagonist is usually female for women to identify and product placement. When infidelity is a centrifugal theme ( these theme brings in high ratings because it makes blood boil, the evilness, the suspense etc) you will end up with
1. A story about an unhappy housewife and her eventual unfaithfulness 2.A story about a happy housewife and her happiness ruined because her husband cheated.
Most in this forum are very very upset with the mistresses ( and the mistresses are women) and less upset with the husbands. So if its really about feminism and equality, the hatred would be fully directed at the men.
Not sure what you mean by weakening women leading to divorces though.
I too think the kiss in "The Legends" is better than here. But his acting has improved here compared to "The Legends".
I think in real life...Xu Kai the actor is more attracted to Bai Lu than Dong Yi? The way he looks at Bai Lu is different to in their 2 dramas together.
Everyone talking about the mistress' that how devil they are come to a married mem's life. But no -one is talking…
Omg perhaps more disturbingly is that as women we have come to expect less of men and we've been desensitized? All the mistresses weren't turned off by their married bf's lack of integrity because they thought they were 'specialer' . I daresay they would be completely horrified to be cheated on later by the same men and the horror wouldn't be borne of 'omg wheres your integrity dude' , instead it will be more from it being a blow to their ego that they are not so special after all.
As for the strong opinion towards the mistresses perhaps it is because we expected more from fellow women. When my ex cheated on me my thought process was 'why would a fellow woman do this to me?? whats wrong with her??' I thought no way...maybe there's a misunderstanding somewhere....when the denial stage was over I naturally wanted to scratch her eyes out . lol
Yeah I'm seeing a burst of gay dramas in TW, TH, KR and JP but except for a few asian movies, wlw is more like a token representation in Mine and Nevertheless. There's no airtime for chemistry or relationship build up either. I'd be impressed if there were a wlw equivalent of Heroin (Addicted)
I find that the writer is drawing up the undesirable consequences of infidelity slowly. All the adults in this drama are actually miserable. In fact, the only creature happy in this drama is probably Dong Mi the dog.
Another reason why I don't think there's an attempt to glorify cheating is that the so called love and affection between the so and so's in the drama are more consolatory in nature - them being wretched souls grasping at straws. If Song Won also developed a temper and started bashing Sa Hun up, he would leave her at the drop of a pin. As for the doctor, anyone could have been an A-Mi, if it wasn't a silent apple chewer, it would be a female bike racer or a tarot card reader or something just different from a stepford wife. These brand of love btw the cheaters is so cheap its like the hair on my leg...plentiful and worthless.
What I wanna know is if Song Won wanted to test her nether equipment so badly.....isn't there...Tinder? How hard can it be for a ONS and you get to keep the child without the donor ever knowing. Instead she chose a CHILDLESS married man....that is not just strings attached, that would be attaching ropes to herself. *roll eyes* Alternately if she wanted to play a heroine she could have told him its someone elses baby...not as if Sa Hun has got detail on her whereabouts. Her moves are concurrently contradictory. I was dumbstruck that HR didn't retort when she dissed HR as lacking parental upbringing.
Is that little nightingale on drugs? Who would want to be friends with her??
I agree, the show portrays things as it happens. The romantic music is probably what the husbands and their mistresses…
Gosh i forgot she was pregnant! Can't imagine how the writer has much of a choice except to bless this pair. I don't see much hairline cracks in their relationship unless there's some intrigue that the audience don't yet know. Also its miles easier for HR to move on anyway compared to the other 2 ladies.

I spose Song Won is making effort but sometimes her best is still not good enough. Having great living skills and healthy habits couldn't placate anyone from remembering her one unhealthy habit. Her deeds ends up coming across as two-faced not as a product of scheming but she merely follows whichever way the wind blows. I reckon the stronger sentiments against her is that she is not the classic hussy. Classic hussies don't even try so they warrant less discussion. She was a wife herself so I would expect her to have more empathy to understand the pain of rejection of another wife ( she doesn't know the extent of HR character like us the audience) so she should reasonably assume that HR is a normal woman with a temper. Yet she had a full blown affair with a married man rather than a one night stand with friendship in its stead. I do agree she can move on without the lawyer, but I don't think she is beyond getting involved with yet another married man that has airtime with her.
50s husband : Gets married to the sweet young thing, have kids at 50...have to wake up, change diapers and work his ass off to pay for their education whilst not getting any old age care from his first set of kids. Then his wrists will ache from carrying his babies and toddlers, puts on medicated patches that will turn off his 2nd wife and she will hanker after a younger guy
40s husband : Continues with whatever he does, SPY decides enough of this perfect wife shit and enjoys affairs of her own whilst maintaining class act with doctor husband. The doctor thrives on control so to suspect being manipulated in return but can't really be confrontational about it with SPY will drive him up the wall. Of course they will be bad role models for their daughter but will the child has to learn discernment on her own.
30s husband : I think his comeuppance has always been his doormat personality regardless of who he dates/marries. I kinda think he's just cursed to being subjugated one way or another his entire life so his existence is his own punishment. Maybe his mom will gamble away his wealth lol. Song Won similarly lives a life enthralled by men one way or another - she will have her own challenges later on if this were real life. Especially the insecurity from having a rather 'easy' husband who has trouble saying no. As for Hye Ryung she's so alpha she probably needs to date someone more alpha than her or else all that energy will just turn to grumpiness and abuse. I think she should be an MMA entreprenuer lol. Lots of misdirected energy that one.
i don't personally think that this show glamorizes adultery. we see clear consequences (ex: in the case w the…
I agree, the show portrays things as it happens. The romantic music is probably what the husbands and their mistresses hear in their heads when they are romancing each other lol. I find the justice-is-served type of cheating tropes pretty unrealistic in real life. Realistically cheaters and cheatees hardly feel real remorse and partners that have been cheated on don't necessarily move on with someone else to validate their self worth ( nor do they seek out revenge). Hell and damnation doesn't await cheaters either.
However I won't really refer to the fleshing out of characters here as character 'depth'. From my perspective there's just more screen time to their story than the dirty deed ( like hey, they have hobbies and a social life ) but they are pretty much shallow individuals to begin with ( not because they are in affairs) . In fact, the wives in this drama aren't deep either. At least in productions like Valid Love, Goddess of Marriage the cheating leads have a bit more depth written into them.
1. From the nun's account - Ji Yong ISN'T the child of another man ( she said it to the old chairman out of spite)…
At some points of the drama he came across as resembling a character in Mouse (if you've seen the drama) , slightly psychopathic and obsessed with his offspring. When he said she was like an accessory I wondered if he said it out of spite. Then again, I felt that Hi Soo wrote him off rather quickly considering they seem to have had a pretty good marriage through 6 years.
Yes, all three husbands fell into the affairs randomly. Doctor's hobby - horseback riding - has been a convenient…
Probably not very good at his job so less clients? Lol
I've often wondered when ANY drama CEO has the time to work when they've got so much personal things to deal with. Probably helps to have a personal assistant that seems to be able to do anything and everything in split second.

Ah so ji yong's mom DID have him with another man. When the nun said she said it out of spite, I had thought she meant it was untrue. Now it makes sense. Thanks!
