I think those scenes are fake outs. 40's husband does not want to split.
I'd be so pissed! I recall watching a movie called Camelot ( I think) and at the end it turned out that the modern-day protagonist fell asleep on a rock at the Stonehenge and everything was a dream!
Love their apartment too. Do you suppose SPY will reenact her mother's playbook exactly and refuse to allow him…
Yeah I'm kinda wondering whether her empathizing with her mom may have any bearings on history repeating itself. However, regardless it doesn't negate how she felt deprived of her father's presence in her life so I reckon she won't do the same. Am inclined to believe that she will understand that her husband's cheating doesn't invalidate the years of him being a good father. Its not like he's abusive or insane.
Am super happy that Yu Shin will manipulate himself into being entangled with a psycho gf and psycho stepmom once he splits with SPY! And SPY can finally move on from her mother issues and husband issues , and keep their apartment which i really like. Lovely.
We’re already halfway through the second season, I thought by now the wives would either be focusing on revenge…
Looks like the doctor will be dealt with swiftly from the ep.9 preview. That is an improvement over HR-lawyer couple who is still sharing a room. I must have missed something as I thought after the sit-down with the in laws HR was sposed to file for a divorce. Why is she still mentioning about trying for a baby?
The cheating husband’s are the main culprits of the infidelity because they are the ones that made the marriage…
Maybe years of abuse by HR has resulted in his feeblemindedness ( korean way of expressing diminished capacity) . I have far less grace than yourself to give the lawyer lol since I associate decision making guts to strength. Wanting everything is not making a decision ( reminiscent of my corporate world life and CEOs who wants to prioritize everything ) Or maybe its just different perspective of viewing a person. I find that if I project his circumstances realistically, he is in his 30s and a lawyer to boot. Law firms where I come from are one of the ultimate meat markets next to accounting firms. As a man he will know what warm water and hot water and fire is every step of the way. Even if he stayed clean, or worked in a small private practice. he couldn't be blind to the nonsense in society even in the absence of a group of male friends. If he had the frame of mind to have 2 handphones, and a modus operandi then he isn't quite the sort to take a stand to do right. Especially if it came only after being caught. It seems like the women in his life makes the decisions for him. My memory fails me but he is working things out with HR because SW wanted to break up? Further he did say he loved only Song Won now ( am unclear whether this means he never loved HR or he is referring to only the present) I need to revisit past episodes!

HR is quite the horror of a wife. Abusive, unappreciative and diva. If I were her husband I'd have ended the relationship in no uncertain terms a long time ago. But then again I'm not Korean and in a conservative family so I guess this is the only way ppl of his profile can get out of an unhealthy marriage - have an inextricable relationship with someone else so the wife goes rabid and finally divorces him in a fit of rage. Divorce from ' irreconcilable differences would not have cut it.
I'm not sure what's there for Song Won to think though. If she weren't pregnant then there's lots of food for thought. But with child, it makes no sense for the child to grow up fatherless since she likes him, he likes her, he wants the child, she wants the child, HR hates them all. Its only a matter of time these 2 end up together again if they all took a 'live and let live' approach.
There's a HK influencer I follow who is the model wife when it comes to handling these sort of infidelity nonsense. Her husband is a regional philanderer but she focusses on improving herself and taking care of the family. I find that approach somewhat refreshing.
Did you not hear the father say wasn’t it good of Song to step up and take the blame? She lied about using the…
No, I must have missed this bit. I'm getting a bit of deja vu with Song Won's outburst. It reminds me of the opening scene in the 1st Season's 1st episode where a wife called a mistress out and the mistress launched into an impassioned speech. I think back then the audience was a lot more sympathetic with the mistress than the wife.
The cheating husband’s are the main culprits of the infidelity because they are the ones that made the marriage…
I think he was unhappy but he didn't seem to have left the marriage? If he did he wouldn't have gone to the gym and tried losing weight. He was quite sweet to HR all the way till she caught him and then all hell broke lose.
If I were Song Won I'd have dumped the lawyer after that final showdown. Imagine being first married to a man who couldn't protect you and dumped you for being 'infertile' and then subsequently date a man who also couldn't protect you. The lawyer is really the King of Do Nothing. He probably struggle protecting his client's interests too.
Omg perhaps more disturbingly is that as women we have come to expect less of men and we've been desensitized?…
I think women's status in China started at a much lower rung so communism could do little to elevate it there. In Eastern Europe I do observe the absence of noticeable glass ceiling for women. I didn't know that was a by-product of communism.
Ooh i'd so love for this twist to be true. However from the past works of this writer that I've watched, she's…
Yeah its like they get upset a CSJ but quickly remember that its KSY doing a fine job acting. (Must be the absence of a romantic OST that keeps everyone's attention on KSY's acting chops rather than CSJ's ). Penthouse makes me feel like I'm watching a play at a theatre.
The ghost is a mighty strange prop. I still can't accept that its a proper .....ghost. I had thought it a projection of the stepmom's guilt but then he appeared in his grandchild's room.
That back then, how heart broken it is for Bai Jue to watch Shang Gu soul disintegrating/shattering like that,…
But someone has to disappear forever right to deal with it once-off? The tribulation probably feels like childbirth to a high immortal..lol. I guess it should have been Zhiyang then...he's got no lover
With only 11 episodes left, what do you guys think about
1. The chances of Yue Mi's resurrection 2. Will Shanggu regain herself and Houchi disappears into Shanggu and how does she become God again? Or she would be a God once she reassumes her id as Shanggu? 3. Will there be a time for tribulation in the mortal world like some other Xianxia dramas 4. Where in the world is Zhiyang? 5. Won't Baijue be the ruler of the Heavenly Realm from epi 39 onwards? What actually gives Muguang the right to rule the Heavenly Realm at this juncture?

There's one thing I don't understand. The tribulation is
#1. Destruction of the realm; or to avoid this... #2. Sacrifice of Chief God
However 60,000 years ago ( Shanggu as Chief) and 60,000 years before that ( Xuanyi as Chief), BOTH of them did not fulfill #2. Xuan Yi defected whilst Shanggu had like 1% of herself left. Despite them not fulfilling #2, #1 did not really happen either right since many of the immortals are still around.
So why don't they just take turns 'almost dying' on a rotation basis every 60.000 years? This tribulation doesn't seem like a very big deal.
Ok for those who wanna watch this drama but keep failing at episode 1/2 and dropping it....I have...on my 3rd attempt succeeded in being hooked to it!
It picks up at epi 9 with new characters and villains ( I think the reason why i struggled initially was its too sweet and whatever in the beginning. There was no diabolical evil edge for me to bite on - we who thrive on adrenaline will struggle at the first few episodes ). But you can't start at epi 9 coz its midway of the initial plot.
For those who want a more interesting appreciation of this drama I recommend starting at epi 17. It adds more questions, tension and intrigue and makes the interaction between the various characters a lot more interesting - it will feel like you have a puzzle to solve and you won't have the bias that comes from having watched the first 16 episodes and knowing the characters' background and what had transpired. You'll be fine not knowing the first 16 epis first, especially if you're a seasoned drama watcher you will eventually get it. If the questions burn too much then you have motivation to start at episode 1.
