Promoted as a bromance in the Korean/Japanese press but as a romance between two men on Netflix's official social media accounts.
I think it's going to be a gay romance drama and that makes me very excited. Ideally, I would love an early 2025 release but Taecyeon has to shoot for another drama slated to release in 2025 so I hope it atleast airs sometime before the next summer ends.
This was everything to me back then 😠I was so young back then and I went into a mini depression because this series ended! Crazy to think how the Thai BL industry has progressed so much since then. The script writing was surely a mess but one thing I can praise this series for would be its worldview. I know, basic setting but I go back to watching clips of this show and always love seeing Ae’s friend group.
Yi Heon's story was one of homophobia becoming a deadly game of darts. The gay bullseye on his back was an easy…
Seeing how quick people are to defend the show and not hear out people for the growing homophobia concerns in the industry and beyond... we're truly in for a ride when it comes to hoping for a better tomorrow. I know conservatives are now on a rise than never before but god these people are insufferable and ignorant to next level. They're not even hiding their homophobia. No empathy whatsoever because of the hatred beliefs they're fed since childhood and aren't courageous enough to question them. I thought MDL was a place to have civilized discussions but here we are. Being from Asia, I thought we would finally move along forward with the world but instead every place is regressing and it's just sad to see. Apologies to make this a personal rant and going off the rails lol.
Why would you want bad representation of us. I'd rather not have them make this bl if they are going to portray…
I get you honestly. My point just didn't come across correct. I just want some good mainstream gay romance representation from Korea badly since I really love their drama style. I was very excited to see this potentially giving us that before all this fiasco happened. I guess it's best we BL fans just try to hype the existing K-BL shows that show queer identities in a good light and hope this genre makes it big one day and finally gets the budget it deserves from the Korean production teams. I hope Nam Yoon Su, a rising mainstream actor, doing a positive lead gay role will give this genre the proper push and make directors adapt non problematic good BL plots.

i don't care about the romance aspect, i'm glad they took that out but i'm just pissed that they had to take out the homophobia part out. there's nothing problematic about an old man saving a teenager from extreme homophobia lol? that could be the bare minimum the directors could do but nope, they clearly were homophobic and wanted to erase ANYTHING related to queer identities.
plus as for romance, if they could change the whole plot to straightwash it, they could also very much fix the age gap issue as well.
calling people who watched and enjoyed this show homophobic is ludicrous.. so everyone who watches your beloved…
because you're literally feeding the pockets of a proudly homophobic team and encouraging more production teams to follow what this team just did? constantly take the queer stories and erasing the queer part for success.
surprised to see such a high rating and popularity for this series! guess homophobia does win at the end of the day. and on the darn pride month too 🫤 it’s really ironic how a great story about tackling homophobia was straightwashed so at the end the whole thing became homophobic itself. defeats the complete purpose of the original story lol! i know a huge section of kdrama viewers don’t care and are homophobic but it’s still really sad to see this whole thing that encourages erasing our identities in stories as a queer person. such regressed times we live in.
I watched the first two EPs back to back and I like it but GMMTV once again didn't match up with the JP ver's charm with their adaptation. Thai version's delivery seems so pale and weak in comparision. The casting seems perfect visually but the actors aren't just potraying the characters right. Only Madmee seems on point so far character wise.
The screen writing also feels very half assed to me. I already hate how they handled Atom realizing his feelings arc. Atom was supposed to be in a huge mess mentally and even vulnerable in Kongthap's presence. Here they basically switched all of that stuff to opt for fan service-y stuff.
FourthGemini is such a huge phenomena and this is what GMMTV offers them. Hoping they can get more roles like Moonlight Chicken in future.
ohm has a new partner…things must’ve been BADDDDDðŸ¤
ik this is gonna sound weird because I don't want to cheer on friends falling out but I'm glad things turned out the way they did. ohm doing bls with a new lead actor every time really shows his versatility as an actor.
Years later, my initial opinion on this BL has definitely changed. I loved it and the first few eps were one of the best ever in this genre but the final few eps somewhat ruined it for me back then. But now, I think it was a great and well rounded series from start to end. Deservingly became the phenomenon it was and I really miss the time it was airing. Haven't really felt that way about a BL that way in a while honestly. I occasionally think about how good both Nanon and Ohm acted out the roof top kiss scene and the whole arc when they run away to seek a safe space for their love. Especially the bus scene when Nanon leans on Ohm and he comforts him with physical gestures while bottling it all up with teary eyes. I wish there were more BL pairings like these that's more about the chemistry and acting skills and not only focus on how well the visuals match with each other.
this is coming way sooner than I expected! super excited, nam yoon su playing a gay role is a dream come true. really enjoyed his presence in all his kdramas. have high hopes for this show, hopefully I'm not disappointed!
I’m glad I actually finally watched this. I loved and hated it. As the case with many popular KDramas, it starts off strong but then loses momentum near the end. There were a lot of moments I enjoyed but pacing and character writing wise… it was a mess. We started with the drama showing how the female lead was tough minded and could face anything especially as a former fighter and now a guard… but I can’t remember any single moment near the end where she was doing anything. She was just there, crying hopelessly till the very end. Literal opposite of character development. The only development I can think of her is how she stopped being selfish. The drama was just too… dramatic and had a heavy focus on its power struggle plot but the conclusion itself felt so rushed and underwhelming that all the build up just feels pointless now. The ending needed to be way more elaborate. Just too many unnecessary plot twists in the middle that should’ve been scrapped to make space for a proper ending sequence.
Still, I really enjoyed the romance scenes a lot. They were the only reason that made me kept watching, especially in a sea of nerve wrecking and extremely dramatic scenes.
