Ah I see. I just meant the time travel type. The whole AOS movie triloggy is a star trek parallel universe cause you get original series Spock meeting Zachary Quinto's Spock. Every change in action by time traveler (in star trek movie's case, the Romulan who killed Krik's dad) creates a new branch of timeline but the old timelime still exists because old Spock doesn't disappear. So in that sense the time travel in star trek is similar as the one in Flash. Meanwhile in Back to the Future, changing the timeline erases Marty's siblings from the picture he bought to the past, possibly Marty too if his parents didn't kiss. So the old timeline is erased. I think Lovely Runner is simple like that.

Nah the time travel in the flash and star trek creates parallel timelines. This is more like Back to the Future movies (not games/comics) where the new timeline is overwriting the old timeline

See, this was my question too. The way people are raging over it makes it seems as if the original story is a big gay love story. Turns out in the novel the gay part is a small part between the high schoolers (the real Yiheon and Sekyung) but they're only a thing in the end of the story or something so for me it doesn't really matter cause I love Deukpal in Yiheon's body more lol

I don't really get your question but basically I saw a bunch of BL folks boycotting the drama because the drama erased the gay part. I didn't know which one is the couple in the novel and I like Deukpal a lot so I didn't think much about Yiheon's possible return (kinda wish Deukpal to never leave the body honestly haha) so Deukpal x Sekyung is the only couple I can think of when people say the drama is supposed to be gay

No, I thought the main couple in the novel is Deukpal in Yiheon's body x Sekyung, like how the king in Mr. Queen is actually in love with the chef not the OG queen (which makes the ending stupid). Glad to know it was actually OG Yiheon after getting his body back x Sekyung

Yeah I really don't like how they drag the whole taxi driver side plot too. They could've resolved it way earlier and the new conflict is having Sunjae dead again due to depression or anxiety to call back to episode 1, then Sol realizing Sunjae is better with her instead of without her. I don't understand why they completely disregard the OG novel suicide plot. A time travel story to prevent suicide can be well written too, like the anime Orange for example

For me episode 9 was fine. I like the show better when the plot is linear. Episode 13 has too many back and forth from past and present, the editing is so messy it doesn't flow as well as previous episodes

Episode 13 might be the weakest episode yet but I'm looking forward to episode 14 a lot

Ngl I like this edgy artsy thriller kdrama era netflix has going on right now. It's very refreshing because even if it ends up being a mid show, even if it can be very polarizing (you either love it or hate it), the basic idea is always interesting. And I like The 8 Show a lot. It has lower stakes cause it's not a live or death situation and yet it portrays human greed and desperation better than Squid Game. Quite realistic too because people do stupid shit to make YouTube/TikTok content. Sucks that half of the characters are one dimentional tho. But overall it's a fun dark comedy show. Solid 8 from me

Honestly I totally understand Sol's reasoning but the director did a shitty job at explaining Sol's train of thought. By episode 12 I think most people already forgot that Sol ran from the taxi driver once and it caused Sungjae's death. She avoided him in 2008 only to be kidnapped in the alternate 2009. Then he followed her to Inhyuk's hometown. In the forest she finally understood that wherever she goes, the killer goes too. Confronting the killer alone isn't the smartest move but separating herself cities away from Sunjae so he won't be able to save her when the attack happens does give Sunjae a bigger chance at survival. I think it's not explained enough in the end of episode 12. I hope they'll fix it in episode 13
