AI face swapping from Brocade Odyssey is pretty smooth. But we still can see the glimpse of Zhang Hao Wei in the new edited face. However, the production team also pick the similar actor to Zhang Hao Wei features. So It's understandable.

I am sure The Golden Hairpin results will be the same. The glimpse of "old face" can't be erased completely. I can see a bit of Kris Wu face in Peng Guang Ying version. But I need to see the whole drama to judge it more.

The Golden Hairpin is the scariest case. 5 years to wait and there is no broadcasting license until now. But the melon said Tencent will air it in march or april. It was said that TGH already obtained its distribution license (assumptions), but idk. Without broadcasting license from censorship, it's impossible to be aired.

It still can be broadcasted. Don't worry too much. Tencent still give a green light to this drama. They just achieved 1 million reservations on Tencent.

Also, this is not the first drama that used AI face swapping because of actors scandals. The 3rd ML of Brocade Odyssey also got tax issues + prostitution scandals and they swapped his face into another similar actor then Youku aired it smoothly. Another iQiyi modern drama, Miss Buyer also use AI face swapping to change the face of 1st ML into Yang Shi Ze face because of former ML thesis plagiarism scandals.

The Golden Hairpin is not broadcasted yet but i heard Tencent will air it soon between feb - april. They changed Kris Wu face into Peng Guang Ying face in this case. And he is the 1st ML with many screentimes.

LMD is just a supporting role. Even though his role is important to the story. But they still can edit his face into another actor. Ofc it will takes longer if they choose this route. But it's better rather than we don't get anything.

Also, I prefer they still release the drama in China. Maybe they will use face swap to change LMD face. He is just a supporting role here.

Youku have so many great dramas and high budget productions. For examples Till The End of The Moon, The Double, Kill Me Love Me, The Princess Royal, Blossoms in Adversity, The Blossoming Love, The Story of Pearl Girl, In Blossom, etc

Kill My Sins is not low budget drama. It's a decent production with high enough budget. Even though it's not as higher as other Youku dramas that I mentioned above.

There is also period costume dramas in this airing time. I LOVE period costume dramas.

You should watch more chinese dramas with real kisses then. There is tons of chinese dramas that had hot steamy kisses. It depends on the choice of your dramas.

Also, not all korean kisses are great either. There is so many dead fish eye kisses in korean dramas + lips touching without movement.

I saw your previous answers to others, and you said that you don't watch particular actress or particular shows without reason. If you want something good, then you can stop to limit yourself about something. Joy of Life and Flourished Peony also have great cinematography. But you said that you stop yourself to watch. Sorry if I sounded very harsh, but you should not limit yourself about something if you want something GOOD.

You said that you welcome to others opinion, then you should consider to try those titles that I mentioned. You can watch the dramas that I mentioned so you will see what I meant. I also have eyes for this kind of things. Go check them out first before judge anything.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT : This drama (Brocade Odyssey) also still had decent and beautiful cinematography. The scenery is so good! This drama didn't use much CGI because this one is not a fantasy drama. Most of the scenes were shot in real location like the river, mountain, forest, and ancient city. It also applied to many historical chinese dramas. They use real locations to shoot the scenes. China has the largest film studio in the world. There is many permanent full-scale replicas of palaces, fortresses, and ancient cities/towns from various periods of China's history in Hengdian World Studios.

No. This is high budget production. You can clearly see it in the costumes, sets and locations. Also the cinematography is also quite nice.
