At least it's not blossom or journey or legend lol
Yes, "Belle" is a popular term for "Beauty" in general. People also already knew the meaning behind it even though they don't know about french language. I think Belle is popular because Disney fairytale The Beauty and The Beast use "Belle" as the name of FL.
So is it set in Medieval France or ML is from there? (I am confused by the name)
No. They are still full chinese. The drama was set in Tang Dynasty.
They picked this Belle title because there is beauty word in original chinese title.
怎敌她千娇百媚 Zěn dí tā qiān jiāo bǎi mèi. It means "How can she be defeated by her beauty?".
So they picked "Les Belles" because it's like the summary of its original chinese title. And maybe they wanna try something diffefent with using "Belle" word. However "Belle" is a french word for beauty but international people already knew the meaning of it. It's a popular term though. Even the popular fairytale like The Beauty and The Beast use "Belle" as the character name of FL.

I don't think so. For international title, they will keep using english as usual.

No. I disagree. 90% of male leads in Chinese dramas and Korean dramas are very mature, good looking, heroic, and…
I read your full watching list just now, and 99% you only watch modern dramas from chinese, korean, and japanese.
Yes Chinese dramas are dominated by historical, wuxia, and xianxia genre. And I really LOVE them 🥰 For Chinese historical dramas, the male leads are usually cold, charming, handsome/beautiful, mature, briliant, dominate, and powerful + great fighting skills. I watched all chinese period costume dramas so I know 100% what type of MLs in this genre.
For modern dramas, the type of MLs are more various. But i still can say about 80% - 90% MLs are still portrayed as handsome perfect men (charming/cold, handsome, rich, powerful, mature, and they have skills and abilities).
why the fuck is 80% of male leads nowadays portrayed as immature/losers
No. I disagree.
90% of male leads in Chinese dramas and Korean dramas are very mature, good looking, heroic, and also masculine + dominate. The male leads are still portrayed as the perfect men these days especially in Chinese period costume dramas.

I saw your watching list and you mostly watched japanese dramas. But hey. As far as i know, most of male leads in japanese dramas are also still portrayed as perfect mature men. Even in Taiwanese dramas, this type of immature male leads are pretty rare. Maybe only in this drama. So i have no idea why you said something like this.
Well her name, Mu Dan literally translates to Peony & he named her Xiao Hua aka Little Flower. So it actually…
Well i have no complaint about blossom name in JXFH. Why need to exaggerate things? I said this just for fun, not for complaining.
So no need to compare the drama title to others. Each productions have their own considerations why they picked those titles.
Also the original title for Blossom is also the name of flower from the drama. Jiu Chong Zi 九重紫. If you watch Blossom, then you will understand that purple flower in the drama poster is called Jiu Chong Zi.
No need to be like that. Just enjoy the chinese dramas that have been released first. It's very usual for chinese drama fans to have waiting game like this. As long as your fave actors never get into scandals, the drama will be 100% released in the future.
Love & Sword already got into Q1 release list from Tencent. So, I think it's around march or april in very late.
Just keep watching your chinese dramas and enjoy them 😊 don't worry too much.

So maybe Tencent will put this drama into march drama list. But after Fang Yi Lun drama, it should be at the end of february, not in early march.
Maybe because the original chinese title involved "Beauty" word.
Edited on my main post already. Thanks lol

It's all about how ancient women live in patriarchy society. They opened the business and survived in the world that dominated by men.

Happy Sunday ^^
Tencent nowadays tried to release all their pending dramas because of scandals like Everlasting Longing yesterday.
I heard they will also release The Golden Hairpin and The Prisoner of Beauty.
Love & Sword is already in their 2025 Q1 release dramas. So better just keep waiting at this point. I hope they will release this drama in march.
