I wanna ask why they called Prince Ning as "Da Wang" but not "Wang Ye"? Because Da Wang is what ppl calling for the king during the seven warring states era when China was divided into 7 kingdoms.
Usually they call the emperor's brother who had "王" title as "Wang Ye 王爷". Because 大王 Da Wang is for the independent king of state when China was divided into several kingdoms. But, this is Tang Dynasty when China was already unified under single government.
Plus, other dramas always call the emperor's brothers, uncles, and sons who had 王 title with "王爷 Wang Ye" or "殿下 Dian Xia".

Wang Ye in Qing Dynasty? Tbh, I never hear ppl called Wang Ye to the prince with 王 title in Qing Dynasty drama, because all of the adressing issue in Qing Dynasty was changed into manchu terms. For example like Princess. For all dynasties with Han rulers, they called princess with Gong Zhu 公主. But after Manchu took over the throne and become Qing Dynasty, they called Princess as æ ¼æ ¼ Gégé.
