I think they are saving her championship for the next time. It is still only at 14 eps.
Last third of The King's Avatar is very unsatisfying and the quirk at the end, even though explained in episode 1 as a possibility, was beyond lame. Also the whole phase where the team fell apart just because they lost 1 game or whatever it was... as someone who follows a lot of esports, it was incredibly cringe writing.
i love that FL become a runner up in that championship because i really can't digest that she defeated all of…
Exactly. Dramas and animes with plots of instant success is a big trigger for me to drop them. Even second place is hugely generous. Can live with it though.
The funny thing is that way more people have issues with Esther and find her voice annoying. Maybe it is, but at least it's always in sync and fits her face - after all, she's either dubbing herself or not even being dubbed in what I've seen of her. I still remember how many people dropped Love Between Fairy and Devil only because of Esther. It seems she's really hated by a lot of people, which is a shame. And that drama had one of the best dubbing jobs I've ever heard for Dylan Wang. Usually I find dubbing automatically worse than hearing the actor's voice and can't even begin to imagine watching English based dramas by this standard. The production efforts are just often so lazy, especially from the sound engineers and editors in syncing actor and voice together. But LBFAD was the one rare example I've heard where I felt the combination of an actor and a voice actor can actually be as good or superior to leaving all the work to one person.
I forgot about SAHPH. The performance is much better connected there... because it's him. The role suited him really well too.
Yep there appears to be less romance in it. Bad acting is a baffling opinion to me though, especially in contrast to watching this drama and having to stomach the voice actor pairing for Xu Kai's first character. Learning to deal with it but it's a real taint. The pairing for his second character is far better. It's not really a Xu Kai issue... he plays his role so well in Falling Into Your Smile. It's about pairing him with appropriate VAs who can match his relatively unanimated face.
There have been more evil characters in dramas than Jung Soo Min, but I've NEVER hated one more than her. HATRED. Absolute HATRED for what's just a freakin' character in a drama that isn't real. Pure LOATHING.
For those who plan to watch this drama. Please don't. It is not Sword and Fairy. I recommend Sword and Fairy 4…
I never care for such a myopic view. Each can be treated as its standalone entity. Reminds me of OG book gatekeepers. As for the drama itself, I enjoyed it - 6/10.
Lot of references and parody in this huh... not that I recognise all of them. The Queen Seondeok parody in episode 4 though eh, with Lady Mishil's iconic theme.

Alright then - let's go.
