I get it and sort of agree with you. But for me, he definitely is much better if not the best young C drama ML I’ve seen to date with micro expressions. I think he delivered DJX character beautifully and it is hard to imagine some actor now as DJX.
He delivers the right emotions in the scene. But Lusi not only delivers the emotions but you see her flittering thoughts through her micro expressions…drawing us in and letting us relate more to SZ as in life we humans aren’t so simple…we not only get sad but think why or how and confused at how we feel or how we express ourselves.
So beautiful both of them, the story, the production.

If you choose to continue with the show, I would recommend if you can, try not judge them for their age gap or circumstances of how they met. Those things are presented in the story not as romanized plots but obstacles for both characters to overcome.
Instead judge them on their actions…how they chose to live and treat each other and those around them.
Despite SZ’s young age and childish behavior at first…DJX and her family’s influence her to mature beautifully. She’s an old soul. And despite his smiles and cheesy teasing, DJX is a trouble soul who cannot even accept to sit down for a meal with his best friend’s parents much less unconditional love.
It baffles me when people say. " the plot is nothing special, it's this it's that..." Eh... excuse me the synopsis…
Just like cooking…the simplest dishes are the most difficult to execute well, impress and be memorable. The special thing is “this pure simple love story/drama”. Novel to drama adaptation is well executed by overall production team. Impressive crew, BTS shows a funny and patient director, great collaboration and camaraderie with the actors that shines in each scene. It’s memorable to many because it resonates and invokes laughter and tears. It reminds us of youth, value of family and joy of friends. And no matter what life throws at us good or bad we should continue to strive to be a better us and be caring to others. For the cherry on top, love…we are all deserving of love if we are open to it and offer it in the warmest way. So what better genre can there be than this? Why not spend our limited time being entertained by this type of genre? Why not praise and recommend to others?
