I’m amazed from her versatility and ability to move people just by sitting still or crying. I wish all the best for this treasure girl and I’m praying that we will see more and more of her amazing artistry in future.

I’ve never been a fan of WC. The last drama I watched of his was the costume drama with Yang Mi, which I couldn’t finish thinking the character was 1 dimensional and I couldn’t connect (I couldn’t finish Lusi’s Pearl Girl either so don’t think I’m being biased).
However I’m very impressed with WC’s portrayal of SHM here - everything is on point, all the nuances and details he brought to the screens invokes thoughts and emotions.
And his offscreen humble demeanor and constant praises for Lusi and the cast of LA is endearing. So I just wanted to give a shoutout to WC. 👏👏👏
I didn’t think much of his casting of this role at first but now I cannot imagine anyone else but WC as SHM and am so sad to see this show coming to an end.
I must really applaud director Chen. I’m so impressed with his vision, interpretation and storytelling in LA. I’ve been in cdrama slump for over a year but the way he presented this romance/slice of life story is really refreshing. I appreciate the details, fast pace, angst, comedy, and overall cinematography. Some people also forgot that it was SHM’s business rivals who created these work problems for XY. If he did nothing it would be wrong. But it is commendable now that he is helping in ways other than money like he used to.

Also keep in mind, XY doesn’t open up to people because of how many kind words/gestures/benefits she is given. She opens up for detailed care, consistency and most importantly authenticity. And I think this what the writer/director is trying to portray with SHM in the upcoming eps 26-27. This is consistent with her character - why she cherishes grandma so much and why she finally accepted her sister.

That’s even more logical and aligned with real life - we never take the easy or straight forward approach. And why we have so many failed relationships and the divorce rate around the globe is constantly increasing. 😜 hehe I’m just teasing.
But the show would end too quickly if he took your advice and we need more eps…even WC said this should be a 100 eps show

I’m not saying anyone’s opinion is wrong or right but I just want to share another perspective…I think SHM going to a guy friend, his younger assistant, her sister, his mom and/or her grandma (or all of them) is right.
However from my real life experience/observation most men go to other guys for relationship advice/approach not so much their elders. They might go to the girl’s girlfriends for hints as to likes and dislikes but wouldn’t open up about feelings.
And as a girl, my friends/family and myself don’t go to our elders for relationship issues. Our elders often lovingly nag us to establish/keep a good relationship as XY grandmother did. In turn, I only share the good news so they don’t worry. And only after the bad things have long past might I share it to my elders.
As for understanding the trauma and hurt XY went through as a child. I’m not sure grandma is the best person to tell SHM. Even XY never voiced it no matter how many times she felt wronged - they showed you how she held it in. She might feel more vulnerable and unwilling for others to pity her.
IMO, XY would be the best person to tell SHM. Not as an excuse for her lies but for her development and coming to terms with her feelings, self healing and absolute trust for him as a partner.
Does anyone see the symbolism behind SHM covering up their wedding photo with an abstract painting of his lonely back….ahhhh soooo many careful details added smoothly in this drama…thank you director and crew!
But also for procuring the outfits herself cuz there is no way any production could/would/have allocated such a budget. She did the same in Hidden Love - procuring the outfits for herself and cast.
