Haha sorry I’m one of the offenders who has rated this show before it ends.
Typically, I will do it at the end if I remember to.
But when I really like a show and want to recommend others to join the fun, watch the show, and share our opinion …I will rate and change my rate as the show progresses and my opinion changes.
I find it useful when others do this as well

Yeah…I agree with you…his flaws and obsession to rule definitely made the story interesting.
But I reserve the rights to be angry at him for his errors and hurting my sweet lil boabei XiYun…hmph
I remember sulking even after his sacrifice
I’m definitely not expecting the drama to deliver that type of level of angst.
I just look forward to the cinematography and how well the cast will act and play with our emotions

On a side note…I want to start reading Love Like the Galaxy - have u?

In the novel I was super annoyed with lanxi for the reason to be late to save her.
She was also super exhausted …out numbered and going from after battle after battle non stop… leading up to this last fight not at full power. it was a suicide attempt…it was never meant to be avoided

Characters are very different in the novel…
- BFX, HC, HCR has the least amount of difference
- BFX’s brother died as a child
- BFX’s sect was not touched on
- HFX is very different (more of grey character)
- HFX’s family was barely touched on either
- Feng Chang is a mix of characters but no where close to drama
- FQW is a pretty girl only not the badass she is here
- YWY was a saint
- no old Taiyin
- court politics is there but only on BFX side
- so again why I am enjoying the drama for what it is

Darn it…y u gotta remind me…now I’m wishing like u that the drama was longer again and was able to draw out this angst

Yes, I would recommend reading the book.
It is very FL oriented and had little romantic moments - so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
But I enjoyed how action packed, descriptive and poetic it was.

However, don’t fall into the trap of comparing the book to the drama. The drama is a feast for the eyes and has added great interpersonal interaction that the novel didn’t have.
The novel wins hands down for storytelling.

Agreed…I’ve learn to disassociate the novel from the drama so I don’t get disappointed.
It’s like the drama took the skeleton of the novel but flexed different muscles/storylines.
Or twins that grew up to be very different individuals? ;)

Those Lusi haters can chose to boycott and ignore what is obvious to our eyes…but the stats don’t lie (nor can they claim that they are all bought).
The drama is a success and week after week Lusi is in the top 10 searched character chart. And YY daily popularity contribution to the drama fluctuates around 60-45% but Lusi is pulling her weight too for a “small fry” at 45-35%

I blame it on script writer….again novel has her going back way earlier without any prior clues.
But being the devil’s advocate, in the letter she sent she did state she will be back soon.
HC army is half a month out, she does not know about her dad’s condition. She has full trust in her dad+brother’s leadership skill & she setup the mighty FengYun Calvary to protect the nation. (Side note it tickles me pink that the Calvary is named after her)
But within the week of finding out of the army marching to Qingzhou, she is put in a tough position…how could she leave HFX in his predicament. Even on a political viewpoint…Yongzhou needs to be stabilized or it can be an added threat to Qingzhou. I was expecting her to leave in a rush back without saying bye to HFX after she sent FQW to join HFX in the palace
Sad that this is the fate of her and her family but I don’t think she is stupid or wrong in her decisions…she has always and will always put others before herself if she is aware and able to

I’ve never ever commented nor wanted to comment as much as I’ve had here.
But the overall vibe of this page gave me the courage/desire to. And I’m so grateful I did as it has enhanced my enjoyment of this drama.

I will give credit where it is due…this was one of the best deviation from the novel
- to let us meet and come to love/respect FXY’s brother
- another one is changing FQW background and overall attitude

Yup…I’m prepped to be in fetal position ugly crying for Sunday’s eps

Poor baobei doesn’t deserve for her whole foundation to fall apart and immediately shoulder the world

I’m so interested what the total view would be if we count international viewership too.
190 countries on NetFlix alone not counting WeTV international.

Despite everything…crew drama, some sloppy writing, restricted number of eps, nasty accusations and bias, lack of promotion…
The beautiful sensory presentation from the behind the scenes crew and the spot on delivery of the cast…has made the drama such an understated success

2.43 billion views atm….3 billion by close of show is definitely achievable
