So the onyl big star in MJTY was Esther Yu, she was outshined by the secondary couple because they simply had better chemistry, it wasn't GJM's fault lmao. I had also never heard of Hou Ming Hou before Fangs of Fortune, he became more talked about with FoF and then thanks to Love in the Clouds and I've been watching Cdramas since 2018. Many people were introduced to HMH thanks to FoF. And the cast in Veil of Shadows are also all regulars in the industry, where did GJM use "popular actors" to lift other actors? People like you who want to create this illusion of "injustice" for your favorite actors actually harm your faves more than help them. This victimization routine is embarrassing. And you make it sound like Hou Ming Hou did a bad job in FoF, are yall fans or haters? He was clearly the star of the drama and he was highlighted throughout the whole drama. The secondary characters all had their moments to shine but HMH was obviously the only main character. If anyone could complain it would be the FL who had a very boring character and storyline and didn't get the chance to shine much in that plot. But HMH was literally the big highlight and yall are still talking as if he was outshadowed, I think the only ones who have this narrative are you guys, so again are you fans of HMH or haters? Lol
Currently watching and I'm so glad I finally found a Cdrama that could grab my attention after I tried and dropped so many dramas lately! This one finally has a fresh storyline, interesting characters with well-developed personalities, high stakes, great slow burn romance and a smart plot. Love it sor far!!
I don't feel like TJR is more highlighted than HMH. I think it's GMJ's style to always have two main characters in his dramas, he had this same format with My Journey To You and Veil Of Shadows, where you basically have two pairs of leads, even if officially they weren't called leads due to billing. In comparison to his other two dramas FoF is actually the one with a clear male lead that gets the spotlight, which was HMH.

I've watched the first 3 episodes and was annoyed at her knowing embroidery and rich people etiquette perfectly, I do think a good writer should explain this - even at least subtly - to the audience. Leaving it to episode 7 will make people who don't like Mary Sue characters who miraculously know how to do everything drop it. I sometimes wonder why writers make so many mistakes. I personally don't find the plot original or interesting enough to keep watching. But thank you for explaining.

Oh girl please, I'm a man hater and a feminist, don't twist words around to find an issue in my critique to this drama. If the ML is a Gary Stu I will be the first to criticize it too. I gave enough arguments why she is a Mary Sue and why the writing is flat and childlike for me but you want to abuse a serious cause like misogyny to stop people from criticizing a poorly written plot.

FL will continue to outwit everyone in this household because despite growing up dirt poor she somehow knows exactly how to maneouver herself in highly competitive environments of rich people and ML will soon be head over heels in love with her but won't know how to tell her and she won't notice and will treat him as only a fake husband. Not everyone enjoys dramas that are extremly predictable and offer nothing new

Sorry but she IS exactly a Mary Sue: knows how to embroider perfectly despite working as someone who collects poo for a living, knows how to act like a noble lady despite being dirt poor her whole life, is perfectly pretty and flawless appearance despite growing up poor, knows how to outwit people within a noble househould despite never having lived in such an environment before, is extremely kind to her servants like a Disney princess despite having been kidnapped by these people, the cold ML basically falls in love with her after she hurts herself bc she is the Mary Sue of the story. Sorry but it seems like it was written for teenagers, none of it makes sense.
Decided to drop after episode 3. This feels extremely predictable. The FL is the perfect Mary Sue. Everything is solved super quickly in favor for the FL. Boring.

I think this part about sealing memories and then also having altered memories was a bit confusing, because they didn't really bother to explain the details and it left me guessing at many points :) which is why i even want to rewatch so many times lol
