She knew if she asked him to give her the antidote, he would do it but it would make him break his promise to his dead master, which in their culture is a huge deal. When you watch the whole show she'll mention a few times that she's a very prideful person. She wouldn't want to selfishly make him break his vow just so she could survive, it's like a betrayal of her own character as well.
She knew he'd probably set up some type of barrier on it that he would sense if she took the antidote. So since she was about to die, she'd rather him be mad at her for stealing the GMD and let go of her and move on instead of him mourning her and being upset about her dying.

Hope it fits your taste! I personally found it pretty different from other dramas bc the fantasy element reminded me of vampires. I also liked the character development of Cheng Lei's character Jinan. I even rewatched as soons as I finished bc I enjoyed it so much lol. But there were some people who didn't like it so it really depends on everyone's taste 😊

yes that's true. She was cured right after drinking that so it made sense that she thought it was the effect of SL's concoction, especially since JBZ gave no hint to her that he tried to cure her.

yeah I think as a viewer it's not so obvious, I paid attention to it bc I knew a spoiler about JBZ's identity. But I just think that if I grew up with a mom and saw her forehead almost every day and a guy who doesn't know who his mom is has a very similar or almost identical mark on the forehead who he said his mom put there, I would at least find it suspicious. But that's just my POV..

the part with the Bo clan was also irritating at first because both MY *and* JBZ didn't figure it out even though it was very clear that the little goddess tested their blood to concede entry. As MY and JBZ are both supposed to be smart, it was laughable that they wouldn't connect the dots. But then it was revealed that JBZ did question that in EP30. I was kind of excusing MY for it bc I thought she might just be in denial

the part with the GMD was a bit slow from her side but i can still understand that because they made it clear in ep 30 that she wasn't aware that Heavenly Grief could be cured *only* by GMD, so only once she knew that she connected the dots.

I dropped FoF but the only reason I was watching it was because of him, he's a really charismatic actor. Can't wait to explore his other dramas

i found shadow love chemistry really good, it felt natural and real, no weird awkwardness and they had several sensual scenes that were full of tension. and in the final 8 episodes the chemistry is FIREEE, one of the best episodes I've ever watched in cdrama

but they only look very slightly different..they all look like a golden sun, and given the information MY has about him and them, she should have started guessing. I can't imagine seeing that mark which resembles her mother's so closely and not thinking "hm my mom has a pretty similar mark...that's sus"

Another thing: Hou Minghao's acting is really amazing, in Ep 30 when he's talking to Master She, his whole demeanor is completely different to how he usually acts. Usually he has this aloof and sarcastic expression, even when he's facing authority, which makes him seem unserious and unbothered, but when he's facing Master She he's trying to be respectful and polite. In my opinion Hou Minghao was able to show in his acting how an orphaned person longs to be seen in a positive light by a man who gives off father-figure-energy.

yes omg :( when they were walking side by side to the palace so MY could confront her mother/Empress and he was there supporting her, i felt so bad for these two poor babies 😢 they never had a normal childhood and were so lonely, thank god they found each other

yeah what mother would give her son away like that..she could've given him to a family that lives close where she could support him at least financially and make sure he grows up well. she's such a horrible person
