just because it’s a “rom-com” drama doesn’t mean we should accept mediocrity. you’re basically saying…

I don't get why this drama is rated so low while others are overhyped. The plot is somewhat ridiculous but it's a Rom-Com Kdrama, I mean what would you expect?
Things I enjoyed:
- Refreshing storyline: the FL and ML are actually fake siblings-in-law, even though the ML doesn't know it's a fake marriage between his brother and the FL. Finally a different storyline that isn't focused on "first love"-nonsense. I've only watched one Kdrama before where the FL and ML were in-laws and it had a sad ending. Wedding Impossible takes on a more rom-com approach instead of melodrama.
-Chemistry: even though the ML has a baby face and looks very young, he had good chemistry with the FL. Their relationship begins as enemies and I found the way they got closer quite entertaining.
- LGBT representation: it's extremely rare to see a gay character in a Kdrama and what I liked was that the actor was not told to act in effeminate way; they also didn't make him look like a comedic relief or ridiculous. I was pleasantly surprised that they tackled this topic in a not too problematic or discriminate way.
- Likeable FL: I liked the story of the FL and her struggles and how she got into a mess trying to help her best friend but also trying to make money. It was relatable that she wasn't perfect.

All in all, it isn't an top tier but it's entertaining and it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's worth a watch.

Apart from dramas starring A list female star (who look like fairies no matter the plot), K dramas love plain…
it's not like the looks ugly, it's that the styling is making her look pretty old. In the scenes where they gave her longer hair and more casual clothes she actually looked way younger and fit the (very babyfaced) ML a bit more. But the way they styled her is just giving teacher or auntie vibes...

I know I would enjoy this show so much more if the casting had been better. ML is 24 but tbh he should be given younger roles, like he can definitely pass for high school age - and then they pair him with a 38 year old FL who (sorry to say it) looks her age. I think the issue is the styling ,clothes, hair, make her look actually like she's his teacher or aunt or something. I just can't take the couple seriously :/ didn't notice any chemistry either. I actually liked this actor in Wedding Impossible, I thought he had good chemistry with the FL there but here...sigh

Unpopular opinion but I don't feel any chemistry between the leads. The whole dreams felt awkward and unnatural.
i feel like han so hee doesn't have strong chemistry with her male co-actors. Watching Nevertheless was such a struggle for me bc of this reason, her and Song Kang just didn't have any sparks despite several intimate scenes. My Name was a bit better tbh but not that much. PHS on the other hand has good chemistry with his other FL as far as I've seen

Looking at the previews she is still unconscious so what will she be like when she wakes up. Different personality,…
maybe amnesia right before she found out about kyung min stealing her dissertation, which would make her forget about hating him and everything else. since there are still 4 episodes left, and she found out everything about kyung min already, and they wouldn't leave the FL in a coma for more than one episode. so amnesia would keep everyone from finding out about KM too soon. i highly doubt they will kill off the FL with 4 episodes still to go, as some people are thinking lol

I think you have got something mixed up here..... She has depression, she has not lost her rationality nor she…
true but also she isn't necessarily famous for making rational decisions when she's angry. It's actually true to her character to make a stupid impulsive decision, which she's been doing since the start of the drama. She beat up her professor when she got angry at him, she also confronted Kyung Min in a dark alley before and also went and threw her drink at him in front of everyone. Just because she's book smart doesn't mean she's street smart. She's been portrayed from the beginning as naive and socially awkward. I was annoyed at how she got into the car too, but I also think it makes sense for her character to act like this. She also was eager to rub it into Kyung Min's face that she found out about his bullshit - she should've been smarter about that, but it seemed like she was so mad having just figured out everything, that she couldn't even hold herself back and think rationally. I think it's not necessarily such bad writing as everyone is trying to make it out.

About ep 12, I also felt like Ha Neul was too uncharacteristicly stupid to get into the car and show him all the proof but Ha Neul is a know-it-all and hates Kyung Min, so I can see her wanting to rub it all in his face, it does make sense. What DOESN'T make sense is her doing it in the damn car and completely alone without even letting Jeong Woo know. But tbh atp I have seen way worse plot changes or clichés, so I don't mind it all that much this time. I understand they had to keep the plot going somehow.
I'm worried about Ha Neul fr bc of Jeong Woo's words saying he wished he hadn't told her to take her time bc these words tormented him for a long time. It seems like she will be in a coma for a long time?? And the funeral clothes...but it's probably the funeral of someone else. My bet is that someone else Jeong Woo knows dies and he has a mental breakdown bc he's worried for Ha Neul. I'm predicting that Ha Neul will wake up after some longer time and then she won't remember right away all the stuff she figured out about Kyung Min, that way the writers can drag this whole part for four more episodes, since Ha Neul figured it out so fast in ep 12...

Thanks for this explanation! But in Episode 21 the Elders said to Gong Ziyue that Shangjue is his "biological brother" so they must have the same father. Which would also explain why the former Sword Wielder aka Gong Ziyue's father was close to Shangjue (giving him that mission where he left the Gong Residence in the beginning of the story)..

Can anyone suggest drama similar to this?
Bloody Romance is very similar in terms of the theme, very nice cinematography and female assassins, but Bloody Romance is longer and more melodramatic. Still I think if you liked MJTY you might like Bloody Romance too

Ok dumb question but can someone explain to me the family relations of the Gong men? Are Gong Ziyu and Shangjue brothers from their father's side? Because the youngest one seems to have a different father than Shangjue so they're cousins? So his father was maybe a brother of the old Gong leader?
I thought Ziyu and Shangjue were brothers of the same father but then Ziyu said "my father" and Shangjue also said to him "your father" so it seemed like they have different fathers ?

I love the drama but to be honest, I get why 2nd leads are getting the hype. It's because of the character setting.…
I personally also love characters like Shangjue and the dynamics between him and Qian are so cool and exciting to watch but at the same time I'm equally invested in the storyline of Yun Weishan and Ziyu because their characters are also very interesting. The way Yun Weishan at times seems ready to defend herself and then shockingly realizes Ziyu is just being nice (when he outstretched his hand and she thought he wanted to check what's in her hand, but he just wanted to help her on the stairs) - it just makes her character in a quiet way very sad. Also the way they haven't told much about Yun Weishan's background, we don't know exactly what happened and why she is at Wufeng, I think they are creating a really good buildup. Also, I noticed how Ziyu reacted when Shangjue was sorta protecting Qian when she was being accused of being the Anonymous - he was very clearly saying Shangjue should stop protecting his fiance if she's an assassin, so it seemed like a glimpse into what would happen if/when Ziyu finds out about Yun Weishan. His whole storyline is about feeling unloved by his parents, his siblings and then even his foster mom, so he seems very eager to have a caring wife by his side (hence why he almost immediately fell for Yun Weishan - I usually dislike these type of "instant-love" but in his case I think he simply WANTED to be in love with her that's why it happened so fast), but once he finds out she is in fact an assassin/traitor - I think this has all been a buildup and I'm excited to see how it will all develop between them.
Also something that is interesting about Shangjue's storyline is that he could easily be the main character bc he isn't actually very evil and his actions make actual sense, since Ziyu was in the beginning in fact not the type of person who should be the Leader. It's understandable that Shangjue would oppose that as he seemed way more experienced and mature than Ziyu. I think it was a choice from the writers to make this story have kinda two main leads / two main couples and for me personally it makes the show more entertaining to watch. I wish more shows would give us more interesting "2nd leads" so that we don't want to skip their scenes.

There isn't a single character in this drama who is boring; they are all so interesting.
agreed. It's one of the only Cdramas where I don't skip scenes, this rarely ever happens lol. Even the fighting scenes were filmed in a way that it feels exciting to watch
