Lol agreed. Why romance ruined the story? Its not romance fault. Everyone loves great romance! If the romance is…
Hmmm feel free to read my 2nd paragraph.
You dont like the romance of this drama because the leads are not suitable for each other. Age gap is the obvious one. They have chemistry for another things like relationship between mental coach n athlete, but NOT for couple romance.
Don’t people get tired of saying that a drama is ruined because of romance. Fam, just enjoy it. Humans generally…
Lol agreed. Why romance ruined the story? Its not romance fault. Everyone loves great romance!
If the romance is not good then blame the writer why she/he/they wrote that kind of bad romance or even bad couple who didnt suit each other? Thats why if the writer wanna add romance element from the beginning then please choose the main leads carefully. Think about age gap, chemistry, couple matching rate, and ofc the actors ability to play romance.
You people born because of love from two humans who become couple. There is no intimacy without romance.
Lol I also thought about Bailu. So its not you alone. Some angles of LYT image here is really suited to Bailu…
Right. Her face is not exactly 90% similar like Bai Lu but her expression, her smile, her movements, it really gave me Bai Lu vibes. Like her gestures are really similar like Bai Lu Haha.
we can always hope.... Dear Diary and Love in Time (2022) didn't end with any of above mentioned troupes
Oh yeah. Korean also did many scifi like parallel universe and time travel. They are free to create what they wanted without the intervention of government.
For example kdramas who did scifi, time travel, parallel universe and fantasy : Alice, Sisyphus, Kairos, Grid, Circle Two Worlds, Train, Live Up To Your Name, Time Slip Dr Jin, Faith, Queen In Hyun's Man, etc.
we can always hope.... Dear Diary and Love in Time (2022) didn't end with any of above mentioned troupes
Time Travel was banned in 2011 when "Scarlet Heart" and "Palace" got booming everywhere. And it was about a young girl soul traveled to her past life in Qing Dynasty. And she became the attention centre there, many princes fell in love with her. But in the other side, she was also the cause of chaos and conflict in Qing Dynasty. Basically her figure is totally a fiction. But it affected the image/potrayal of princes from Qing Dynasty.
The thing is....Chinese govt didnt like the writer messed up with ancient chinese history. Its a record that must be kept and no one can "change" or distort the history.
After that, the ban was lifted but they released the new rules according to time travel genre. It must be pure fiction and no one can insisted that the experience of the main leads are real. So it must be a dream, novel, or even game simulation tropes.
But some tricks can pass the censorship like I explained to others above. They must "remove" or "restore" the evidence of time travel element. For example, X who lived in modern era fell in love with Z who came from ancient times. You can't write the ending that stated the X n Z can be together after the hardships of Z travelled through space n time. It was totally banned and the drama would fail the review process. Because with Z can come to modern days and stay with X in modern era for ending, it proved us that time travel is real in that story. So the chinese writers decided to trick the ending with novel trope for example. So in the end, ppl will see the time travel as the fiction one.
For Love in Time and Reset, why they can pass the censorship with real ending, because for the ending, both of them are from same era (modern) + same timeline. So no one cross-over different times or era. And basically, its back to starting point where the story begins.
Reset is time looping. Ofc both of the leads are in the same timeline. Love in Time is about two ppl in different timelines between 2021 n 2022, they meet and fall in love. But the ending stated that FL (from 2021) accepted and dated the 2021 ver of ML. Its not 2022 ver of ML. So they are both in the same timeline. No one cross-over from 2022.
Idk why, but chinese govt usually treated ppl like they are dumb and ppl will blindly believe what the show is portrayed. But the reality is not like that. Ppl are smart and they knew whats real and whats fiction. So it is an overacting reaction from chinese censorship actually.
How is it so far? Much romance? Are the leads together yet?
Yes. This is a full fledge romance drama. The ML is very lovable and become the husband material in this comment sections.
But warning, SML will get you headache because of his ignorance, narssictic, and star syndrome attitude. He also forced the FL to accept his "obsession" into her.
This is a time travel drama??? Why I can't find it in the synopsis/genre/tag info?
Because the synopsis and the tag are incomplete. This is actually about the girl who got another chance to pursue her dreams in other universe. Her life in that universe is 180 degree different than her current life. In other universe, her family got better condition financially, plus she got the man she loved (the ML). But then there is some problems in later stage like fantasy drama should have. She would choose to comeback to her original world or not.
Wait do you mean D.O use stuntman for action scenes? And its very obvious? Oh crap....
Yeah. He is very cunning, I must say. But the story and action packs + comedy in this drama is very enjoyable. I prefer this drama than One Dollar Lawyer.
we can always hope.... Dear Diary and Love in Time (2022) didn't end with any of above mentioned troupes
I noticed that too. But it's more about the pattern. Do u watch Reset (2022)? It also didnt have these tropes. It's about time looping. So it is still considerably time travel drama.
I thought the cdramas that got shorter period of time travel and more realistic approach can passed the ending version of censorship.
Reset ending = they prevented the bomb explosion and saved all the people in the bus. But before that, they kinda comeback to initial moment/timeline coz its time looping. So, the ending can be normal and realistic. They stopped the bombing and continue their lives as normal people.
Love in Time ending = the FL didnt get a chance with 2022 beloved ML. But she kinda "comeback" to her original timeline in 2021 and she dated the 2021 ver ML. It is considerably very safe option. Because they are both in 2021 and same timeline. So they can pass the censorship.
The chinese censorship kinda banned the ending who insisted that Parallel Universe is real, Bodies Swap is real, and Time Travel between different era is real (for example between Republican era/Min Guo and Modern Times, Ancient times/Dynasties era and Modern Times).
i wouldn't say that. cuz there were a lot of great dramas this year (imo). like-business proposalalchemy of soulsall…
Not all agreed.
But I agree with - Business Proposal (even though its a bit cliche but it was an enjoyable romcom this year) - My Liberation Notes (A comfort and realistic drama) - 25 21 (I dont like the ending but the drama impression is so memorable) - EAW (Thanks to Park Eun Bin marvelous acting as autistic syndrome girl. Its very extraordinary)
South Korean is in the state of National Mourning right now bcs of Itaewon Halloween Tragedy. It was decided by South Korean President yesterday. From Oct 30 - Nov 5. Some of variety shows and music programs in weekend already cancelled their broadcast schedules and events.
I still remembered after Sewol Incident in S.Korea 2014, some national tv delayed their regular programs (including k-dramas) to broadcasted documentaries and the exclusive news related to the tragedy.

"Taeyeon ft Jonghyun - Breath" gave this drama a life. Without OST, this drama is very mediocre.
Only SBS n MBC who delayed some of their entertainment programs.
