Yeah second half was kinda odd. The director made odd choices on episode distribution and some of the cuts made…
honestly save yourself, the ending is super rushed, makes little sense and there isn't a clear sense of if they really are together again or if they're caught in some kind of loop? idk, its really really messy and VERY unsatisfying.
I'm just finishing up ep 16 and keep noticing that the aide to the ML's step mom never appears on screen, did…
So I finished it and that aid never gets exposed, so I guess that was just a plotpoint that got discarded on the cutting room floor. Felt the romance was good, no misunderstanding, no toxic love triangles. The battles were pretty awesome. The final ending for the two leads though was pretty stupid. Made the series drop from a 9 down to a 7 in my opinion.

I'm surprised more people are not watching this drama. So far, I really like it. Of course, I'm partial to series…
I think it's because it's hard to find a version of it with english subs except on subscription based websites. I'll wait until it's done airing and give it a try then.
Right?!? And they kept calling her "Beauty" and I was like really? are you sure about that? Same with another…
lol you must watch as many dramas as I do, you knew EXACTLY the drama I was talking about :D My Dear Destiny with it's very unusual 3 alternative endings and the cutest FL.
The focus of this drama is not on the romance, it's more about the comics, the aliens, and the adventure. They smooshed in the romance literally in the last few episodes just so we'd all be crying at the parting. The ending was really a what the heck moment too. But I'm not sorry I watched it. I gave it a generous 7.5 just because I happen to like sci-fi and I don't think there are enough of that in c-dramas. I'd love to see this more fleshed out and to see a second season but I'm not holding my breath.
Idk if you've come back to check yet, but Youku has released the first 5-6 episodes on their app and released the first episode on their youtube channel today. :)
Just rewatched it while waiting for any news of a second season...noticed once again that the plot was pretty cool but the kisses were mediocre, I believe were 3 total but some of it can be explained by the plot. First kiss neither character liked the other, the FL needed to make the ML drink some medicine so she just forced an unexpected kiss on him and he drank the drugged wine in shock. The second kiss the FL was asleep and the ML wanted to test if he really could read her mind after kissing her or if it was a coincidence the first time. The third kiss, the ML was in love with her and I think at that point the FL wasn't in love with him but was more at the beginning stages...curiosity, intrigued ect. The ML was trying to elicit an emotional response from her so he prolonged the kiss to get her to "melt" but she wasn't really feeling it yet...so I think that's why their third and final kiss was a meh rather than a swoon. I believe that with her final mission she received in the final minute of the series...there is definitely room for a dramatic flip on the script, it makes me wonder what their plan was for additional episodes or a completely different tone for a season 2?
If you're in the right mood for this, it's super hilarious. I binged it in about a day and a half and laughed way harder than normal. The youtube channel version has BTS bits at the end of each episode. The version that has been uploaded on youtube has some episodes shortened all the way down to 32 minutes (must have deleted something?), but the majority are between 40-45 minutes per episode, somehow they never felt that long...the pace was perfect and the humor was ridiculous enough to tickle my funny bone.
I want to watch this, it sounds right up my alley but the youtube versions have been scrubbed of the english subs that once existed and I can't find it on dramacool :(
I ended dropping it before I hit the half way mark. The ML is a coward, the SML would have began dating FL who was willing AND interested in him except the ML kept interfering and ruining it.
The only reason ML never dated her before was about a dozen missed confessions that he wimped out on waiting for the "perfect" timing, and by the time he was ready to go for it for real then his father stepped in and said "you can't date her because your mother left us and she also was in the entertainment industry. Obviously I did nothing wrong and your mom was at fault therefore ALL women in that career must be awful human beings so you can't date her despite knowing her for TEN YEARS and knowing all about her...obviously now that she's a successful singer she's going to end up leaving you like your mom left me". AND the ML agreed to that logic?!?!? He promises his dad that he'll never ever ever date the FL and then just acts all wounded puppy when she moves on from what she thinks is a one sided crush on him that he refuses to return the love. Just a pathetic script and the ML character as written is ugh, pathetic.
The actors on the other hand did as good as they could with a poor script. I still gave this a 5 out of 10 just for their efforts.
