Tencent produced this drama, but I can't find it on their youtube channel yet :( I'm checked their minidrama channel and didn't see if it's there either. Might have to wait a few months until they upload it...current dramas take them a while sometimes.
yes. I didn't have the link to the article because I couldn't access it again for some reason. It's all good though, the tags have been successfully added thanks to your efforts :)
thank you so much! I got a rejection for my submission on the tags, but I'm just glad someone added them. I keep wanting to get more points by contributing but a lot of the time when I do try to contribute to the site I get rejected because I don't have enough points...which doesn't make sense. :/ Thankfully at least I can add actors that aren't listed yet in a drama, if I remember the scene, episode, and timestamp that they appear in. I've done that a few times....so I'm helping a little, lol.
I apparently don't have enough points to edit or vote on the tags, but Sleep Disorder and Insomnia should both be in there. Hopefully they do get added.
Somewhat similar to My Neighbor Can't Sleep only in this version BOTH leads have a sleep disorder and they both get much needed sleep when coming in contact with each other. I'm interested!
Look for it on Youtube under the name Beyond Romance, there they have it in a movie format for easier viewing. the channel you can find it under is Tencent Video-Mini Drama
So it will never get air? That's too bad. I think I watched several time-travel drama in the span 2022-2023. Why…
The channel is Youku though, so it might get released to netflix or some other online only platform that the Chinese government blocks in their country. It's a tricky situation, sometimes China allows that loophole and other times they squash it like an ant and it never sees the light of day, and what meets the criteria to be released only to foreign market and what meets it to be released nationally and internationally is unknowable to us.
I hated that the villain of the story basically lasted until the last bit of the drama, somehow this guy had invincible plot armor, was super clever and never got caught time and time again, but he never devoted that energy to being a better actor...so yeah. Other than that, I really really enjoyed this one. I think the first episode was not that great at hooking me into the story, but the second one was better and it just kept going up from there.
I saw a spicy tiktok and came to look this up, can't believe it's a mini episode series! Think I'll wait until it's fully released and binge the heck out of it.
If you think that's creepy, you should read the second to the last paragraph in this article about Kim Jae Wook's…
Some of it is a financial and the other part is staying relevant in a small market. He may think the show and the role is amazing and that he can do it well....but it's like a skilled carpenter, they can create a lasting piece of woodwork that you or I could make look like a mangled piece of sawdust, BUT his hands, his back, his body pay the price for the years that it took him to become a master carpenter. The same with KJW, he can craft an amazing character that is simply head and shoulders above other actors in his age rage, BUT if his emotional wellbeing if not addressed during filming, it can have a lasting negative impact on him...long after the show is over and done with. KJW needs to take care of his mental health in a country that still very much stigmatizes mental health care. It's getting better as more people in S. Korea open up about treating depression and anxiety, but a lot of people can still not understand that it's treatable and not a fault of the person who needs the help.

I'm sad cause it looks like KJW has another dark role and he can do them very well but he's not fond of them because he's very dedicated to getting into deep character for the roles.
I really hope the romance in this is not supposed to be between the main leads, who are SIBLINGS regardless of…
I'm going out on a limb here and gonna guess the real Hong Rang died and this guy was his friend or became a sworn brother who vowed to get his revenge for him...so he wouldn't be really related to the FL.
I was so confused at first, cause they didn't have the Oppa added when I read the article and I was like, did they put the wrong cast on here...then realized it's BOTH of them! :D
I really enjoyed this drama, there's a ton of other reviews and loads of people have already said why it's such an amazing drama so I'll just take this opportunity to say there were a few problematic issues but they really didn't overshadow the good vibe that was the overall tone of the story. Things I wish were different:
The FL actress lacked kissing experience and it showed, her kisses never got any better. Her first kiss looked like a real first kiss, but by the third or fourth one she should have been responding and moving her lips too or at least puckering them a little ffs.
There were WAY too many mentions of weight, eating too much, being fat ect. NONE of the characters had a spare ounce on their bodies.
The overwhelming attention paid to people's physical beauty. Our FL and ML both had good personalities that would have made them wonderful partners even if they looked average or unattractive, but somehow because they were both the MOST beautiful people in the world apparently, everyone would stop to tell them how good looking they were. That's a little weird.
Several times various characters would belittle someone for not being pretty "enough" though who gets to determine that is random consensus?
There were several problematic mean girl characters who never really faced any consequences for their behavior, they were promptly ignored and forgotten by the leads (as they should be) but they also should have paid the price for their bad behaviors and they never really got called to account for that.
Despite these 4-5 things, EVERYTHING else was amazing about this drama. Relationship free of drama, best friends that stick through thick and thin, intelligent and fun? Check, check, check, and CHECK! Amazing show. Absolutely watch it if you haven't yet.
I really loved her in The Imperial Coroner but I'm not sure how I feel about her being paired with ZL after the disaster of Choice Husband. Guess I'll have to wait until we get a synopsis to see if the show has good potential and uniqueness...there are a lot of VERY recent and upcoming drama's out there with kind of similar ideas right now, aka the immortal ML who is in love with a soul that he follows throughout their 7-10 lifetimes waiting to win the heart of the FL only to see her die prematurely time and time again or tragically be married to an awful mortal man. This hasn't started filming yet I think? So maybe we have a wait of a year or two before it comes out?
