No, there were TWO kdramas that came out the same year back to back with very similar titles and very similar synopsizes but completely different tones in their storylines. They had different characters too. I thought they were the same thing too.

Someone spoiled some major plot points for me years ago and I was so pissed I never watched it. The anger has…
Considering that this drama was released 9 years ago, the fact that somehow I've never been exposed to spoilers is a freaking miracle. I just started it and I'm enthralled already!!
There is another man beside ML and YuanLang who will like her??who?? i read and thought that Ling jian Xing will…
A lot must have to have happened between the current episodes and whenever that scene was from, because right now Gen Tao doesn't seem like a guy to be at the limits and ready to jump off a cliff like that?!?
My biggest pet peeve is when FLs are absolutely powerless (unable to fight) and yet, they dash out to danger to…
That's my big pet peeve too! If you have no defense ability and not martial skills, stay AWAY from the fights...you're a helpless burden and you can't do anything except make the situation more dangerous for everyone...but the writers keep sending FLs running towards the fights for some reason that makes no sense.
Jia Nai's acting successfully portrayed the character of Wen Wan, the viewers of this series really hated her…
I think Royal Rumours is letting the bad guys have their time in the spotlight at the moment because they have fewer episodes left to wrap up their storyline...Romance of Twin Flower is twice as long so it gets to go deeper into the character and plots. Both are good in my opinion, just varying degrees of good.

True words! I usually try to give a drama 3 episodes minimum, because I've found a LOT of great ones that had horrible or mediocre first episodes then they gradually ramped up into something awesome by the 4-5th episode and I totally would have missed out on it if I gave up on a bad first ep. Then there are ones that I gave the benefit of the doubt and they just went off the freaking rails and I want my missing hours back. lol It has its pluses and negatives. 😂 Every once in a great while I'll come across a drama that I got into and hit the half way point and someone apparently blackmailed the writer into trying to destroy the actors careers or something cause I could not figure out how on earth it got approved, created, and aired. (looking at you Choice Husband)
Which ep does Hua Liuli start showing her full potential/personality to the public? I know she kinda phased out…
I wouldn't expect the full reveal to be done to everyone until the end of ep 23 or the start of ep 24, she's like the secret weapon and the less people know about her true potential, the better able she will be to save the day should it be needed. The serious stuff is just starting to ramp up, we still have the silly half villains to deal with and then the writers are going to shift the focus to the deadly and more threatening real villains.

Ahh, you may be on to something there...I'm super stubborn and unless something is really really just unwatchable, if I've gotten more than 1/3 of the way through a drama, I generally keep plugging along. I've dropped very few that I hit the half way mark on, but I'm trying to get better about that so I don't waste more time on ones that just don't do it for me.
Things on the serious side really exploded all over the place in these last few episodes, it was a lot more balanced with comedy and seriousness up until 16, but things took a turn. Not sure if they can still have moments of lightness in this as we ramp up on the treason, murdering, and other things....but I'm still enjoying watching this drama and will ride it all the way to the very last episode.

Jia Nai is doing a phenomenal job of making us all hate her character, her acting is really top notch! Of course we have to also give credit to the writer who gave us the perfect all around unlikeable villainess of a second female lead.
I shudder every time Wen Wan calls herself "Wan er" in third person pronoun..."Wan er this, Wan er that..." UGHHHH...
I think he thought he was preserving her reputation, but I think she was obsessed with him before the bandit incident and I'm not 100% convinced she didn't straight up stage it so she could set up a scene where he'll feel like he "has" to save her by being a selfless hero...marrying the now "sullied" girl.
The reason being also he could feel guilty, she only snuck out cause she fought with her father about marrying the ML as a concubine and her father wouldn't agree...of course, that could be just a lie Wen Wan told to set up the whole thing. He wouldn't marry her before so she went to extremes to force him to marry her out of misplaced guilt.
I could be way off base here, but Wen Wan really gives me insanity vibes and I wouldn't put it past her to pull all that off.
and she came back double levels of annoying and when that didn't work went straight up to character assassination. Wonder how far she'll go...just destroying the FL's reputation with the community and the court, will that satisfy her or will she go for actual assassination once she realizes ML is committed to FL and never will look at Wen Wan as a woman?
He did such an amazing job in My Neighbor Can't Sleep, I don't understand why he doesn't have any more roles since then? Did he switch careers during the pandemic?
I dislike the cliffhanger or potential that is left from cliffhanger endings more than I dislike unsatisfactory or mediocre endings because I generally watch a drama for a specific reason.
Sometimes I'm in the mood to have my heart broken, so I'll watch a drama I know has a sad ending. Other times my real life isn't going great, so I'll pick one that I know has a guaranteed happy ending. Occasionally I just want to laugh and be entertained without having to think too much, so I'll pick one that is silly and predictable with nothing too groundbreaking because I just want to shut off the real world for a bit and enjoy watching someone else's life from the outside looking in.
I don't ever pick a drama with a cliffhanger (on purpose) because I'm left feeling incomplete at the end, yes I can make up my own ending, think about it for awhile later, even hope for another season...but it also leaves me with a vague sense of incompleteness and that can be a little unsettling if you're not expecting it. The best cure for me in that situation is to just watch the first episode of another drama right away, so I can shift my attention to the next story to be told. I may not get back to watching the second episode for a day or two, but at least my mind can be focused on the potential of the new story instead of the frustrating of the ending of the previous one...but that's just me and I did enjoy reading your article. :)
He doesn't have any roles/dramas listed in the last 2 years, not even anything coming up. Did he retire, take a temporary break, decide to do live theater instead, or did he get blacklisted?
