This is my second time watching this and I was pulled in pretty quickly once again, laughed way more often then I expected.
Xiao Tian really should get more lead roles and I hope he gets to do comedy again soon because he did a fantastic job pulling off the most ridiculousness that made this drama full of top tier funny bone tickling fun!

Yeah, I've sadly noticed that. There is one actor in particular that I just find his acting is super lacking and yet he gets all this attention and his dramas are high rated whether they are any good or not :/

I agree, this is a bit of fun and light entertainment, but usually when I see dramas with a score above 8 they've all been amazing, this is so/so especially compared to some of the others out there. It's only 24 episodes though, so I do appreciate that, not too much time commitment.

idk, I've found quite a few comedic gems in the 7.5 range, but it might just be my personal tastes differ from the greater public. I'm still watching, just started episode 10 and this for me is a middle of the road, it's nothing spectacular but it does have its moments and I'd say if it keeps along this I'd put it in the 6.5-7 range personally for me.

Just finished episode 6, not sure why this has such a high rating, does it get better as we go...seems pretty mediocre atm? It's not horrible but it's nothing special either. at least so far

I wish more ML character were written the way Prince Zheng was. He was consistently sweet, caring, and supportive...even when he was deeply in love with her and she still wanted to escape, he supported her right to do that, her happiness meant that much to him 💖

I feel like this has way too high a rating. The story dragged quite a long time, the romance took half the series to get started and the first romantic kiss didn't happen until ep 31 out of 36. The ending felt a little rushed and there were a lot of unresolved things that were glossed over.

Edward Zhang really did a fantastic job bring to life a completely awful character.
I'm watching this drama a second time and having just as much fun the second time around.

You really should push on, the forced marriage really broke my heart for about an episode, but she is an awesome character who helps the plot and the characters. Totally worth it to keep going.

He did an amazing job bringing a character to life that I loathed from the very depths of my being...not every actor can pull that off. (New Life Begins)
I hope his next character is more likeable though :)

It's hit or miss when it comes to steamy kisses, but I'd say about 10-25% of new dramas have better kisses than in the past. I don't need things to be over the top but I'm definitely a fan of kisses that properly convey desire and love, unlike the statue kisses that were the norm for so long.

It was really interesting seeing Xia Ning Jun playing what I at first was very convinced was a villain character. He was and he wasn't but I won't spoil it for you. They do have him in modern style for one or two scenes and I have to say he really is more suited aesthetically for the longer hairstyles in historical dramas.
