Ok Finished it. My final thoughts...don't start this drama if you get frustrated by unanswered questions. Frequently there are things that I think the viewers should know that don't get answered until loooong past the normal amount of time. Then there are some things that just never get explained or answered. That can be frustrating. I was entertained and it technically had a HE, but I wasn't fully satisfied at the end of viewing this and I think that's what brought it from a higher rating down to a 7 or 8.

I must say though, one of the things that keeps me going (despite how nothing makes sense in the series by the midway point) is just how often Luo Zheng smiles in this drama...dang that man can make a heart go pitter patter in 5 seconds flat.

I really like this series, but I have to say it is SUPER confusing after about the 11th episode. I can't keep track of who is related to who, who is from Azureland, who is loyal to who, who is a spy for who, and why on earth there are soooo many plots, counterplots, and why/how Azureland can be hidden and safe but there were so many people from Azureland living in a dangerous county instead??

I got spoiled about the ending before starting 25-21, so I was super happy I didn't start to watch it since there was no HE. I haven't seen forbidden flower or true beauty cause those aren't my cup of tea.
I try to steer away from those that I know won't have a HE but if it's an ongoing drama and I watch it as it airs, I kind of have to accept that I have no idea if its a good ending or one that will make me pull out my hair.

I like the part he played as Chong Lin,the assistant to Dong Hua (the ML) in Eternal Love of Dream, he was a little more relaxed in that role I thought.

My poor sweet La Mu! He's the one that will struggle to understand it the most I think, but I also think he's the first one to accept it and embrace it despite knowing what it will cost him.

That's one reason I think we've all gotten too used to having happy endings with the main leads together in the last few years, I think it's absolutely possible that this story won't end that way...or maybe they'll just make us suffer a lot before they give us that?

thank you for the description coupled with their actual names, I would never have remembered that...give our ML like 15 different names in the series and add it being in a different language translated to english with those name not always being translated in the written subtitles, it's super easy to get confused.

that was a show that you watched if you wanted to feel ALL the angst broken up by bits and pieces of humor, silliness, and then back to the aaaaah my poor heart moments

I've been waiting! Super glad it's here now. Why though is the movie 3 hours and the 24 episodes were supposedly only 3 minutes? Is that listed wrong, were they longer?

He'll have to deal with it eventually and accept the consequences, but I definitely don't think he should have to feel guilty forever. He didn't meet them as a loving couple and then he swooped in and broke them up, he just started to feel his heart move without it ever being his intention to do that, poor guy!
I bet once he clears FL's name, he'd probably try and push her to go and be with her arranged marriage fiance...even though it would break his heart!

oooh I could NOT make it through Goodbye my princess, I got to the river of forgetfulness portion and I was bawling already and then found out the rest was starting over and then relearning about the betrayal? I was like nooo I do not need her to fall for him again and then remember that all over! I did see the big battle end scene clip and her best buddy and the endless rain of arrows scene on YT and I was like, nope I already saw these and I can't even make it through without bawling on these disconnected scenes, how would I ever make it through the whole show?!?

yeah, it did get draggy and repetitive quite a bit in the mid section and then pulled itself together and finished off strong in the final 1/3 of the drama...but you had to make yourself get through the unnecessary stuff in order to hold the overall story together coherently. I've tried to restart it and I just can't do a full rewatch.

It really was one of the best done versions of that type of plot point that I've seen too. I have seen a LOT of scripts call for a male character to chase off the love interest "for her own good" and they do it by being jerks...but he did it by revealing the worst possible interpretation of things that he actually DID do.

Which version of the shard was called La Mu? They all have so many dang names, proper names, nicknames, then new names when they get split...I'm so confused, so I just got with descriptions instead...was it Fiery, Greedy Assassin, or Flirtyboy?

that's very true. It's a matter of sad fact that none of them can survive as seperate people since they all have giant targets on their backs as long as they try to be their own selves...they need more power/cultivation and the only way they can get that is to go back to being Emperan. :(

Episode 8 This is what happens when you let clever people manipulate and use superstition to prey upon the average or less educated. There are very few super smart people that work for the good and that's who our leads are, the rest work for their own benefit..be it power, wealth, or prestige.
The manipulation is easy if you have only someone's word for it, you have to prove things with facts when you want to expose a fraud...but a fraud doesn't need facts to make something explode and grow a life of its own via word of mouth.
