He really is bringing ALL the emotions to this role, and I'm feeling each one. That guy is guilt ridden for it as he tries to resist but also inescapably falling for her while trying not to.
The SML feels more of an honor bound duty towards saving the FL, the ML feels a getting to know someone and falling for them kind of love. And of course poor ML doesn't want to betray and hurt his friend by falling for his friend's fiance.

AOL was one of my first exposures to this genre, but it was too long for me to willingly delve back into for a full rewatch. The emotional connection I felt on the first watching can never be replicated on the second watch for some reason. It's still a favorite of mine, but I don't know if I would ever willingly put myself through that much heartbreak especially because now I know how it ends 😭😭😭

lol too true! I actually adore Fiery the most, Greedy Assassin is selfless now too, and Playboy is funny AF, but Fiery just had the most screentime and his backstory of being misunderstood resonated the most with me and connected Tan's childhood to his lived experience that just makes their love story the strongest of the three so far, imo

I agree, that of the three fathers the human one has the most potential for being redeemable. He did a horrible job as a father, but under the circumstance...I'm not really certain how much more he could fight against everyone and preserve his authority and power. I think he chose being an emperor and father to the country over being a good father to both of his children, hopefully he regrets that to come degree.

Yeah, I think that's what a lot of people missed out on. He was deliberately telling her in the WORST possible way making a bad story even more horrible...specifically to make her lose all hope and compassion towards him. He wants to drive her away because he can't protect her anymore and he thinks she'll be safer only if she finds someone powerful to hide next to.

My guess is that this is how he will look after he recombines, he'll have a little dark edge to him for awhile until he integrates all three sides of himself and gets to know who he really is without all the pulling his emotions out and throwing them away bs that his dad the Heavenly Emperor made him do.
I bet he'll have a period of adjustment after resurrection and maybe even be forced to join the other side or something to go against his dad to save Tan and her sister.

Maybe from the Emperor's pov he will be worse, but I think he'll be better because he has emotions and the ability to connect. But I bet he'll be a little dark for awhile before he balances out.

I am with you on that dream sequence, the only thing I'd like to have happen is that the real version of the dad be linked into that and share that dream sequence and realize how deeply he has hurt his daughter. I know he loves her, but he let others dictate how he could interact with her and in the end it colored his perceptions and his reactions to her...to the detriment of their relationship and bond. He needs to know that on a deeper level than he does right now and I think the only way for him to know it is to experience it from her pov or to experience the pain of her "death" or some other thing.
I also wish he realized that all the torture, heartbreak, and neglect that Tan felt was also felt by her twin as if it was happening to her heart and body too. Maybe if he knew that, he might have been a little less callous.

I thought the same thing the other day, that the goal was for her to make them fall for her...but in a round about way she was getting to really know and fall for him, she hadn't given her heart to him before, it was more of a companionship or let's try to make the best of a bad situation relationship initially and now she's finding herself deeply attached and in love with all three parts of him.

I feel like we're really getting close to the part where poor sweet Fiery and no longer greedy Assassin are going to have to be told the truth that their existence will have to end so that the Emperan can be brought back to life. That's really asking the biggest sacrifice from them, they have to give up not just their life but also their soul?

Just finished episode 22, I have so many thought and feelings but it all boils down to

I really liked it up until they did a cliffhanger ending...will there be a second season? Will we have our questioned answered or will this just fade in our memories?

Hu Wei finally gets to be a lead?!? I'm looking forward to learning more about what this is going to be about. I've seen him as a loyal General and Aide to the ML in two different dramas, can't wait to see him spread his wings and play the lead!

He acted as General Song Che (SML) in My Queen. He was super silly, bit of an airhead, but very loyal and adorable.

but what if we love 3rd the most and want more time with him before he's integrated? lol. Guess we can't have both...either a fast moving main plot or draggy bits where they overextend a sideplot.

ah, I haven't seen trailers cause they usually aren't subtitled :( But that's awesome, I hope she gets a chance to explain to them and they understand they'll be a part of a whole instead of 3 separate entities...I would feel sad in that situation, but also maybe understand, especially if I knew that my current form couldn't indefinitely sustain itself.
