Finished ep 18, have some thoughts. I disagree with others about the bathtub kiss scene, I think it was very well written and very much in character for Huahua to have that reaction. This is her first relationship, he is very drunk, and she enjoyed the kiss but was startled by her own body's reaction...it's very normal to jump back and want to cool things down. Their first time should be special and she's not wrong to want him to be fully aware and able to be in the moment too as much as she is.
I also appreciate the writers for including that pool scene dream sequence, not just for her but also for us...wowza, what a seductive exit from the pool that Luo Zheng pulled off VERY well. *fanning myself furiously to cool down* It shows once again that he has awakened a side of her that she didn't even know she had, and her giggle and shyness about it was super cute. She'll be ready to experience more physical contact with him in the future, very soon.

I have to say that my favorite version of cold ceo that Luo Zheng has done is in Perfect Mismatch (since he's done sooo many other cold ceo roles lately). I like this version the best because he has the opportunity to show that he can pull off comedy really well too. He hasn't had that chance before, everyone writes his characters as stiff and mature cold man... but when he's given the script for a funny scene he really lights up the whole thing, it's really enjoyable to watch!

I have to say this is my favorite version of cold ceo that Luo Zheng has done, he's so stiff upper lip at work and tries his hardest to present a certain image about himself at work, but when he's home or alone he can let his hair down and be a giant goofball.
I think why a lot of people don't appreciate the FL in this is that they are expecting her to be a helpless damsel in a cold ceo warm woman typical drama, but she's actually the more dominant one and takes charge of the MLs life pretty much from their first meeting, and honestly though he says he doesn't like it Zhi Fei very quickly adapts to it and even craves the attention and care she lavishes on him.
I'm on ep 15 and laughing way more than I thought I would, I'm very much enjoying this very nontypical CEO storyline. Love the trio of supportive secretaries who cheer on our FL, they love her the moment they meet her and ship the two leads before there's even any sparks!
The third wheel Miss Ji is of course going to be obnoxious from time to time, that's her role in the drama...but I just grin and bear it, cause it's more than obvious to everyone around that Zhi Fei has never been interested in her and won't start now.

Yeah he doesn't do many historical type dramas which is a shame as he looks handsome in hanfu and long hair

I for one am in love with the nice change of pace with having a hysterically strong and opinionated FL. She's may not be city smart, but she's a quick learner and by episode 3 is quick to dominate the ceo and force him along a healthier lifestyle, he's not going down without a fight though. 😂

I hope Qi Pei Xin gets to play a nice character in this drama, his character in Wulin Heroes was a yikes!

They photoshopped too much around her mouth area, it really changes the whole shape of her face. :(

ooooh this could be an amazing pairing, they both do really well with selling the chemistry with every partner they have on screen. I have yet to see Lusi or Dylan give a bad performance. Even if we have to wait a year or two, I'm really rooting for this one!!

I wonder if you have to watch the prequel to understand this one? I for some reason couldn't connect with the lead character in ALP and ended up dropping it in the first epsiode.

yes. I kind of feel bad that LHY will end up being compared to CY as he has a lot less experience and CY is just the best in microexpressions and character development.

Cute little drama, don't take it too serious. It's a pretty quick watch and it has a lot of kisses.

Ceaser Wu always looks nice in historical costume

A lot can be changed by makeup and also hairstyle can create or eliminate shadows, also trimming, shaping the eyebrows, and different colors can all help to make eyes appear bigger. Also contact lens that have a bigger iris can affect how we perceive the size of the overall eye.

Problem was it was sooo good this time around that it might take me a few months before I forget about it! First time I watched it, it was all new and exciting, second time I rewatched to see the parts I missed before, third time was pure enjoyment...and now its all stuck in my head front and center! 😂

Not bad, but not great. The ML really started off just ugh, but you know that's how it has to be so he can gradually get better. Thankfully it's a compact drama and the angst of the two opposite gender childhood friends of both leads doesn't drag on forever, I actually felt bad for the SML when he cried in car but the SFL started out as a nice departure from the norm only to blow it all in a last shot to win the ML, thankfully her arc only lasted a few episodes.

holding our breath, I haven't heard any news yet :(
