Despite never having seen the show, YouTube recommended me a 55-min compilation of Xiaoyan & Nana’s love story covering all their interactions up to Ep 22 (no subtitles, but I can understand mandarin). Intrigued, I watched it and found them to be really cute together, subsequently watching their remaining interactions clips up to Ep 32.

Chen Jingke and Sun Qian sure look good together, and they make quite a visual pair. Their on-screen chemistry was great as well, and I think they deserve a spotlight in a romantic drama of their own as it would surely be a hit.

But I’m curious why the rating is so low? Spoil me, since I don’t plan on watching the show except for their interactions (I’ll wait for their remaining clips to be out on YouTube).

I've ordered some food for tonight and will be starting my 1st full rewatch now that it's out on Netflix. I'm not one to usually rewatch shows, especially not so quickly, but this couple just makes me feel too good! 🥰

Edit: Just realized not all episodes are currently released on Netflix rn. All good, weekly routine it be.
29 Feb — Ep 1 - 12
7 Mar — Ep 13 - 21
14 Mar — Ep 22 - 30

Yeahh and the locations are different, it’s new york instead of finland.
Drama final timeskip was only 3 years, but in the novel their daughter is 5 y.o. and the timeskip was at least 7 years after LYY took over dongxin city.

I kinda suspect that MXD/Lin Lin relationship wasn’t really that interesting in the novel format that’s why the author didn’t really address it fully, but Wang Xingyue did MXD role too perfectly in the drama so viewers got invested in their relationship 😂

Well I didn’t read it either incase it ruins my enjoyment of the drama version which I love, but I did search for Lin Lin / Meng Xiao Dong names in the chapters to see if there’s any closure / indication, but there’s none. The last mention of Meng Xiaodong + Lin Lin was in Chapter 13.5.

“Meng Xiaodong stole a glance at Lin Lin before redirecting his focus”.

This was during the break between the games of the team snooker match (drama didn’t have breaks and showed the whole team match all at once).

Yeahh, so nothing about MXD/Lin Lin; the proposal MXD was also not there just like in the drama.

Honestly quite unlikely to have a follow-up, the original novel ended like that as well and we also didn’t see MXD & LL get together, so they would have to write a whole 2nd season script themselves, the original creator have to approve of it as well, that too, so I assume they will think the hassle is not worth the payoff, unless of course netizens heavily roars for it and they think its profitable. Guess we’ll see and just hope for it.

Wow, 4 times?! Great to see that you’re enjoying it so much. I’m waiting for its release on Netflix before starting my 1st full rewatch, hopefully I’d notice something new too.
As for the low-raters, we can only disregard them since there's nothing we can do about it. However, the fact that the ratings climbed from 8.6 to 8.8 indicates that more people are loving it than not. So all is still well :)

They filmed the whole show in Finland, France, China; 3 countries, 11 cities.
Hel actually refers to Helsinki in Finland and not Hel in Poland. Hexin (LYY’s school location) is a fictional city made up by the drama and they were actually in fact filming in Pasila, which is like a 4-minute train from Helsinki Central railway station.

I only noticed it was the number 5 when I saw the video below, but I didn’t connect it (5 - wu) to it representing “I/Me” , 我 (wo) in chinese, and I even knew “520” (wu er ling) in chinese represents “I love you” (wo ai ni) and also why May 20th can be considered another chinese’s valentines day online, but I still totally missed it…

From the 1st meeting, during a rare snowstorm.
2 people’s fate in a foreign country is beginning.
3 meals a day, 4 seasons a year. I want to create memories with you in every moment.
5-ball, is a collision ball and also two hearts beating at the same frequency.
6-ty miles is the romantic distance from the snowy mountains to the beach.
7 hours travelling back-and-forth by train just because I want to see you.
8 pm. When we feel the fireworks atmosphere of the city at night together.
9 words in the laundry room gives you butterflies. (Can you tell that, I want to pursue you?)
10 out of 10 eagerly looking forward to seeing you.
