I think you put to much blame on the replacing the main character, the story has kinda of been trash since EP12 of season 1. It's been surviving on the epic greatness of the first 10episodes. For me the writers seem to be refusing to fully flesh out and explain Naksu's or Buyeons story. Seems they want to reinvent this Mudeok +UK romance in season 1. I hope UK doesn't end up training Naksu in some type of reversal roles, while they fall in love all over again. That would be so trophy and cliche. But the story lately reads like romcom written by a middle school girl.

Well, the original Naksu was an assassin who didn't mind trying to steal the body of random girl on the street. If she had succeeded that innocent girl would have died.

I agree, this is some cheap plot writing material. I kept falling asleep watching this first episode.

Sorry, maybe its just me,but I kept falling asleep and fast forwarding through boring parts. Even though I watched the first season 3x. Go Yoon Jung is doing a great job but I'm not really feeling the direction of the story. So much of the plot already didn't make sense from last season, and nothing has been done to explain the giant holes, all we got was more foreshadowing of next episode.

I love this drama because every time I expect it to follow the typical love comedy drama trope it does something different. I especially like Song Wu the bratty character and her character is meant to be annoying but she is adorable and funny. And Of course the ML and FL are very likeable and engaging and I truly felt their chemistry. With all the big name dramas out right now this one is the only one I look forward too. One more thing its a 40 min drama that doesn't bore you, I don't feel like I'm trying to wait through a bunch of filler episodes, it seem the story is always progressing and the characters developing. But it is a 40 episode drama and that does seem long for a romance drama comedy so well have to wait and see.

I'm having a hard time getting in to it. The drama is not bad its just extremely slow. A lot of world building in the first two episodes and I'm having a hard time forcing myself to pay attention to the details, I want to care but I just don't find much of it interesting at this point.

I think some of the people this drama is lost on would have benefited greatly and really enjoyed the community that was present here while it was airing. Every Sat and Sun we would meet and discuss different the latest episodes. It truly provided a greater level of understanding and appreciation for the drama.

Don't worry, there were quite a few people who didn't care for the ML(UK) when this aired. I'm personally fine with the actor but the character is very pouty and arrogant. His personality is bland and the banter between the main leads gets old. It won't get better in my opinion, but you can see for yourself.

The ratings for the per episode actually trend down instead of up.

Are you implying that LBFD was the only c-drama worth finishing in the last 10 years?

I wasn't gonna watch this but I'm sucker for beautiful women and Chen Lu Xi is stunning. Body swap thing is played out but this is so great for quick laughs and you don't have to spend half a day trying to get into the story. Not to mention you can just stare at Chen Lu Xi the entire time.

I read your review and its amazing how we picked up on the same issues. I think a lot of these plot holes and details go over many people heads so they are not as bothered by them.

I just finished my 4th run through. The less you pay attention the better it seems. Still one of my favorites of all time. I posted something similar before and now updated it.
The overall plot has lost substance for me with too many plot holes, inconsistencies, contradictions and things left unexplained.

~Jin Mu is still Alive( characters had to be dumbed down for this to happen)
~So I is able to remove the blood worm without any magic, the worm was suppose to be the insurance policy to hold her hostage, but she easily removed it.
~Instead of getting Seo pills for the worm why doesn't So-I just remove it like she did for herself. (DUH)
~UK or Seo are never curious about what innocent girls body Naksu has stolen and what happen to the original owner?
~Buyeon reveal has been squandered, with characters being dumb down by writers. An entire season foreshadowing Buyeon's reveal through various clues without any payoff.
~Master Lee says Buyeon's body will protect Naksu from running wild then 5 mins later, Naksu runs wild.
~Jin Mu is able to unlock Naksu's powers and control her mind? (SO what is Buyeon doing? Is she just watching on Netflix?)
~ Mama Jin now claims she knew fake Buyeon wasn't her real daughter! OK then why didn't you confront Papa Jin about bringing the home a FAKE Buyeon, why didn't you question who opened the door to Jinywon? Why would you give fake Buyeon the Priest position and power and ice stone, if you knew Jin Mu and Papa Jin set you up with a fake Buyeon?
~How could Crown Prince have any trust left in Jin Mu? He was in collusion with someone who attacked the royal family. CP even secretly investigated Jin Mu because he suspected him.
~ OK, so the Ice stone was revealed, then it turned into a Squid Game barrier dome for some unknown reason( only speculation as to why), the barrier causes some to lose their powers, while Master Kang gets a free pass to slaughter those trapped within. (Silly Plot). (some say this was the ice stone's why of protecting itself, or Buyeon's doing) The point is this is never explained and doesn't make sense.
~Naksu has to choose between her powers or saving people even though no else has to follow these rules. To by pass these stupid rules why didn't UK just give Naksu the Ice Stone afterward, especially to prevent her from running wild since people's lives were no longer at stake after the barrier was destroyed.
~Jang Kang, Shamn Choi, Jin Mu and others all get their chance to use and abuse the Ice stone but somehow Naksu can't.
~The writers create all theses rules for the ice stone and soul ejectors and then they no longer follow them and write these unexplained scenarios into the story.
~What happens to Buyeon after the barrier is destroyed? Why couldn't she control it or be more helpful?
~Jang Kang leaving Jin Mu not only alive but in position of Gwanju assistant for 20 years even after Jin Mu murdered Jang Kang's good friend is not believable.
~Inconsistency of the ice stone, for the two main characters its a paper weight but for every else its unlimited power.
The biggest disappointment is the writers spent 18 episodes building suspense and developing Naksu's character only to write her into a dead end with the whole Ice Stone Barrier plot and then again with the Ringing Bell Zombie Curse plot.
After 19 episodes our goddess priestess assassin is going to be relegated to a house wife maid washing UK's boxer's in the wilderness. but jokes aside.
Naksu gets the ice stone but can't use it
Naksu gets her powers back but can't use them
Powerful Priestess Goddess Buyeon can't protect Naksu from a cheap ringing bell curse made by a Shaman who could not control the ice stone or find it when Buyeon could.
UK the King Star Goofball Hero with Ice stone in his pocket can't protect Naksu from running wild or the ringing bell curse.
With all that said I'm a huge fan and the show has maintained it's unique Charm, I'll be waiting for season 2.

Are they though? Naksu doesn't know she is in the body of Buyeon even after various incidents and clues. Naksu still doesn't know that Jin Mu is behind the death of her father and slaughtered her family.

Have u watched "The Legends"? It has a similar story.
