I'm not the biggest fan of this drama, especially in terms of writing, but I don't think it's bad: it's actually more interesting than a lot of other romance dramas that are equally draggy but have higher ratings.
Tbh if the ratings for popular dramas on this app weren't as inflated as they are I would have said that 7.9 is a good rating and that it suits this drama, but given the way ratings are on mdl then it should have at least an 8.3 or 8.4 probably

I think they're still going to adapt the same story more or less, but yeah, there are plenty of changes that make it feel like it's a different story even if most of the events are the same. But I've seen worse in terms of adaptions where the writers didn't care at all about the original lol. To be honest I think they're already struggling with the CGI as it is, if they were to show it more it would have looked even cheaper
