I didnt found it bad and i enjoyed itHas comedy and actionNever listen what others said, vecause many dramas i…
I've only read the 5 chapters that were available for free (which is pretty much what they adapted so far, more or less) and it was totally different. There is a bit of comedy in the webtoon too, but not as much as the show and the overall vibe was darker, there were some creepy and disturbing scenes that were absent in these first two episodes
Honestly, I have to agree with those who are disappointed. This drama is really underwhelming if you were expecting an horror or something intense and eerie as The Guest; after all this drama has horror in its tags so you can't blame people for expecting something like that + the original manhwa is actually an horror.
The plot itself is good, but there's way too much comedy for my taste (I cringed while they played a kpop song during an exorcism), and a lot of over the top action against bad cgi monsters that are supposed to be scary but are really not, and a lot of running around too; like 50% of the first two episodes were just Mi Ho running away from monsters, 30% Van looking bad ass while he acts like superman and slices those monsters and 20% info dumping through dialogues and flashbacks. Not to mention the editing issues (like the last scene could have been so epic if they edited it differently) and the bgm that is quite distracting.
I will keep watching for Kim Nam Gil, because he's slaying his role as usual, but I'm not impressed with it so far.
Just shows that it's either the script or directing that can hinder an actor.
Yep, this and casting decision. Like maybe the script and directing are good, but the role is not suited for the actor. Imo Song Hye Kyo has a rather cold type of acting and appearance, so she's good to play the antiheroine in a thriller, but maybe not so much when she has to play a role that requires a lot of warmth like a romcom or a romance melodrama.
Can any Italians confirm whether Eunwoo's italian was good? It sounded better than Vincenzo's italian to me, but…
It's more or less the same as Vincenzo, but a bit clearer I would say. Like you can tell he's not fluent in the language, but I didn't need sub to undestand what he was saying while I actually needed subs to understand Vincenzo sometimes
The writing for this drama is annoying me so much with so many coincidences, communication issues, forced mysteries, characters behaving in an out of character way to make the story advance and misunderstandings (oh she just tripped and stayed like that for as long as the ML was watching because why not), but still there's something that pushes me to watch the next episode; maybe it's Sang Soo and Soo Young's chemistry or the whole slice of life vibe that is quite sober and melancholic and kdramas with this vibe are quite hard to find.
slow start for only being a six episode drama, hope it picks up next week. also very little of eunwoo's character…
It's not a six episodes drama though. First half is six episodes, then there is a second half that also has six episodes. Put it together and it's a 12 episodes drama (and I don't even know if it will have a second season, since the original story is pretty long).
how gore is this? i'm interested, but i'm afraid i can't handle it
Quite gory. There is a corpse in the first episode and they show it clearly. There is also a part where some characters eat raw meat, but that's shot from a certain distance at least. Overall I would say that so far they don't indulge too much on the gore, there is gore, but they simply show what's necessary for a story like this one, it's not too heavy
The quality and value of production, story and acting are excellent, I don't understand the reason for your hits
I personally think that the production values are fine, I don't get the complaints about it, you can tell that they spent a lot of money on it. But the storytelling is a bit too bland so far imo
You should consider posting this in the review section. Maybe expand it a little if you can.
I only tried the first episode when it aired, but I wasn't in the mood for it, I think. I was planning to give it another try because I'm running out of thrillers ahah

I felt that out of the six characters: three of them were able to escape the desert even if their future was uncertain. I'm talking about Yi Seo who left her job even if she had no place to go and her mother went against her decision, yet she still chose her dignity over money. Haeil who started off as a petty thief, but toward the end he seemed to have a change of heart thanks to meeting Yi Seo and Seo Eun. And Seo Eun herself who found peace because she had a moment of closure with her father. In the end these three found each other and went on a "family trip", we don't get to know what happens to them, but it's not impossible to imagine that they will stay together since they don't have a home to come back to and maybe they will even be able to find happiness. Or something close to it.
On the other hand Dong Hyun realized too late how worthless his life has been, he gets to talk openly to his daughter and receive affection from her for probably the first time in his life, but he's still going to die and he won't have a chance to take back the time he lost on his job. Then Hyun Sook proved to be a true hypocrite (probably a nod to all the internet justice warriors with a holier than thou attitude); one could say that she won compared to the other characters since she found fame, at least until the ceo gets tired of her and takes away everything he has given to her, but she is a lonely person who doesn't have anything truly valuable in her life. And finally Cheon Woong was probably the most tragic characters in this drama and his story ended so cynically by drawing a parallel with Yi Seo in the beginning. He gives up on all his values for a safe job. I like it that the writer still doesn't judges him for his choice, but he focuses instead on the circumstances that led him down that road.
Its "funny" that the ending is called "forgiveness", one would think that it's going to be a warm, even wholesome, episode, but the ceo was just pretending to be looking for redemption and even forgiveness became something that could easily be bought by him. What is the price of forgiveness? Apparently a full time job with a good salary, what else?
Idk about you guys, but I really enjoyed this one. It's fresh and rather unique, and it's impressive that despite the low budget they still managed to do a job of this quality: great camera work and polished editing, great acting by everyone, even the side characters, and a story that is well written without any noticeable plot hole, in such a short time. The only issue I have is that since it's so short it kinda feels unfinished, I wanted to see more of it, but I don't mind because the ending was satisfying and coherent with the message of the drama. I like that they didn't sugarcoat it, life isn't easy and as a consequence people are easily tempted to make a decison that isn't the right one
