Finally finished it. I liked the second half much more than the first, once the pieces connected it felt like I could finally see this drama coming into its own, even though it took longer than I expected. It still has some evident flaws and the script could have been better (for example there were too many informations that were told to us, making it a little too verbose for a show of this kind, like Irang's backstory and other things, and it would have been more powerful if they showed those things through Miike's directing instead, since it was hands down the highlight along with the three leads performances).
It's kinda difficult to judge this drama right now because they basically left all the juicy stuffs for season 2 and this is a choice that makes me feel a little frustrated, but nonetheless the way the first season ended makes me curious about the next one and I can't wait for them to explore more in depth the worldbuilding of this story.
Overall I'll give it an 8.5. Maybe it's slightly more than it actually deserves, but after dropping so many dramas it feels nice when you finally find something that is your cup of tea.
She was an extreme version of women who stay in toxic "relationships" She expected him to change. Quick-witted…
I don't think she wanted him to change, she probably wanted to get the evidences by having him confess so that she could record it and show the confession to the police, but it was a very dumb decision because she underestimated how dangerous he was
Congrats to Noh Hee Kyung and Our Blues for winning the best screenplay at the Asian academy creative awards, hoping there are more to come for this gem <3
Same. There are certainly some pretty disturbing kdramas out there, but most of them depend on the psychological…
I totally get it lol, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat so I'm glad that it doesn't seem scary to the point of making me feel uncomfortable, but at the same time I can't help but think it lacks something that would make it stand out
if it turns out to be as crazy as some of his movies, I would like to see the comments.i don't think this drama…
He probably wanted to reach a broader audience and I get it because even looking at the comments on Naver it seems like a lot of people were really disturbed by it and would have preferred a Korean director because this drama feels too much like a j-horror to them.

Yep, I guess, like you said, I expected something more for the psychological side, especially considering that the MC finds himself in some really freaky situations. To be honest I expected something more even in terms of gore, for example I really liked that one weird dreamy sequence at the beginning of the first episode where we see the arm moving on its own to attack the guy: was it over the top? Absolutely! But it was the kind of over the top that fits a drama like this.
As for Hometown I wanted to watch it, but I need to gather the courage first because that one seems really, really creepy
Watched half of it for now. I'm liking, but Idk, I expected something crazier given who is the director and the premise. I mean, I know kdramas are usually not heavy on horror, but also Strangers from Hell and Bargain exist and they are more disturbing and crazier imo. I love the supernatural part of this drama, but the police/crime/investigation feels a little mid. The first episode is my favorite one so far, but I'm hoping the second half has more surprises. I would still recommend it for those who are into thrillers because it seems well done.
I'm currently watching the first episode and yes, I totally agree that it's too low, like just looking at the quality of the production and directing this should have at least an 8.5 imo, but to be honest I'm not surprised: this kind of darker, unformulaic dramas end up having low ratings more often than not, I've seen some go even lower than 8 unfortunately (hope it doesn't happen to this one too). My advice is to stop paying attention to the ratings because they're not always accurate.
If the links posted don't work for you, you can search for Yeolmaesubs on Google or find the raw video and the subs on subscene (download the ones with good ratings of course)
