I mean, it's not like people are comparing apples and oranges. It's literally the same script with only a few differences, of course those who watched both are going to compare. That's what happens when you do a remake for one of the most popular dramas in the world which was released recently.

I don't think we will get Bella Ciao in this one since it's often associated to communism and I don't know if it carries for south Koreans the same meaning that it has for Spain. My guess is that they will probably use one of their songs from the Japanese invasion because it would have a bigger impact for them. It's what they did for the iconic Dali's masks after all.

Yep, she's stealing the show for me. She's the Tokyo I wanted ahah. Kim Yunjin is great too and so much better at acting than her Spanish counterpart.

The first two episodes were solid imo. If it doesn't go downhill then the ratings will surely increase with time, it's not the first time it happens. I also heard there was some controversy about it due to it being accused of plagiarizing c-dramas.

No but that's literally impossible, if you don't like this drama you must either be a dumb fan of the original or a troll account, there's no other way (that was sarcasm in case anyone is wondering). Honestly this comment section has become a mess, people are spending more time trying to convince other people that they're biased instead of actually discussing the drama, some are even insulting 😂

For me it's totally worth it. The storyline in the present is a bit weaker, but overall it's not a big problem because the whole story is epic enough to balance the weaker parts.

Honestly you didn't say anything wrong, you even gave it a 7 if I'm not wrong, people are just overreacting. It's not only the fans of the original one that had lukewarm reactions, and it's not just here on mdl either (just pointing it out because some people said that it's only people on mdl that are haters, you can check out on other sites and you will see that the reactions are mostly the same). I'm just judging the first two episodes because that's what I've watched so far, but you can tell immediately that this drama, while not a bad one, is lacking something.

She's great. This drama has lots of problems, but the acting is not one of them. Especially not her acting.

Only watched 2 episodes for now, but honestly I think it's lacking. There may be some issues in terms of editing (especially when it comes to the soundtrack, which is basically non existent) and pacing. The original has lots of flaws if you take it too seriously, but it was fun to watch. This one feels really bland in comparison.

Yes, the actors too, I think; but since it's a fan voting, if I understood correctly, then I wouldn't get my hopes up because there are other dramas/actors that are much more popular too :/

I personally loved both. I think The Guest is more comparable to the type of horror that Supernatural is rather than to Hill House (only things they have in common are the ghosts and the melancholic tone): episodic format, a group of people get together to look for the evil spirits and fight them off, more comedy, more episodes, gritty rather than creepy etc.

Hope this means it will get more well known in SK and receive more attention.
