Title Little Women
I agree, it was very satisfying to see Injoo emptying that bottle of soju in the sink. There's nothing i dislike…
Yep, it was something I especially disliked in my liberation notes because people were like "oh he's addicted to soju, cool". Here you actually see that it's a problem for her, for her job and for the people around her, as it should be.

The drama could have been better if the main female character wasn't sulking H24, wasn't aggressive or unpleasant,…
But she's not supposed to be a badass, she's supposed to be broken and traumatized. I mean, it's not like Hwa Pyung and the priest were more likeable than her in terms of personality.

really hoping this doesn't go off the rails into makjang territory
This is my fear as well given the premise, but seeing who's the writer I don't think it will happen. She wrote some masterpieces, and none of them were makjangs.

How in the world could people give this a 10 only after seeing ONE EPISODE??? It's not based off the adaptation…
Of course the ratings are just judging the episodes released so far, I don't see anything wrong with it. The ratings change when more episodes are released: lots of dramas start out with a bang, but then they lose ratings toward the end, and lots of dramas start from the bottom to end up with stellar ratings.

Criminally underrated both critically and popularly, this is definitely in contention for the best k-drama released…
I was hoping that it would have gotten more recognition thanks to Fantasia Film Festival streaming the first four episodes, but it seems not. It's really a pity that it's doomed to be so underrated even though it's a top tier drama.

Man Korea really blessed us with this then quit. There hasn't been a watchable drama since.
I agree, the dramas started in the summer have been rather underwhelming honestly. But autumn seems really promising with Little Women.

LOL! Knew for sure JS Oh isn't the killer. My guess is she faked her suicide with a new face, and then started…
To be honest I would be surprised if she didn't fake her death since everything points out to her being still alive and possibly the killer like you said (ex. The flowers in the crime scenes)

That was typical makjang like premiere like penthouse. Don't know why people are going gaga about this. I guess…
I still haven't watched it, but I personally have huge expectations because the writer worked with Park Chan Wook and on the drama Mother. But I have to admit that the synopsis has zero appeal for me and it does sound like a typical makjang and we get too many of them disguised as thrillers for my taste. Hope this isn't the case.

Don’t give them advice on how to properly exchange differing opinions on a drama. The simpleminded responses…
I disagree that taking in consideration those aspects should be limited to professional reviews. We're living in 2022, everyone has access to the internet and it's not rare to see normal people writing informative reviews that take in consideration all those things I mentioned. There are also plenty of books and YouTube videos that can be used to learn a bit about cinema, so a lot of people that aren't professional critics took interest in the more technical aspects of movies and TV shows. So nope, I'm not talking about professionals.

As for the ratings, I do agree that ultimately what matters when you rate something are your feelings on it, no one is asking you to change your rating because if this is your favorite TV show then who am I to tell you that you shouldn't give it a 10? But at the same time you should understand that people who "criticize" this drama by saying that it's overrated aren't necessarily in the wrong just because they disagree with your rating, especially if they bring arguments related to those things I've mentioned. And I do disagree that it all sums up to it being just an interesting read because I've learned a lot about certain movies by reading those reviews, even when they weren't written by professionals. Perfect objectivity is impossible, but it's not impossible to try and mix both subjective and objective while discussing a drama with others, and this means accepting that the drama may have meant a lot to you, but didn't meet certain standards for other people. And that doesn't make them haters.

It's one thing when you rate a drama in your personal list (and you have the right to rate is as you please without people insulting you), but it's another thing when you decide to discuss about it with other people. In that case "I liked it" isn't enough because even a terribly made movie has some people that liked it, does that mean that other people should give it a 10 as well and praise it?

The lack of critical thinking on this thread is mind boggling. The usage of "overhyped" or "overrated" are appropriate…
Honestly I'm liking this drama, I still have 4 episodes left to watch thanks to Netflix Italy, but I can't see myself giving it anything more than an 8 when I'll finish it. It had lots of potential in the beginning with the conversations between the father and the daughter and how they relate to the spectrum etc, but it's clear that the show has decided to keep those issues in the background to focus on the wholesome aspect and on the quirkiness of the main character in a comedical way, which makes it good, but not groundbreaking imo. I think people are using subjective feelings (like it being a comfort drama for many) to justify the super high ratings because they don't have any other argument, which would be okay for me if they didn't attack and label as a hater anyone that gives it a rating lower than 9.

Don’t give them advice on how to properly exchange differing opinions on a drama. The simpleminded responses…
A rating can never truly be objective, even the critics have different, and often opposite, opinions on stuffs. And so it's arrogant to think that our ratings are 100% objective. Yet, there are objective ways to judge a movie, which is taking in consideration the writing (if there are any plot holes or if there are some things that are forced, some out of character moments to push the show forward etc.), the directing (does it stand out compared to other movies? Is it in a good way or in a bad way? Does it have an unique touch that can be defined?), the acting, the way it deals with the topic it presents, the pacing etc.

So, a review that takes in consideration all of these things, even if the reviewer reaches a different conclusion compared to mine, will always be more objective than someone saying "it made me feel good so it deserves a 10". This is not what we're talking about here.

How is this show? is it very predictable? and is it interesting?
I personally thought that it was very mid and sloppy, not remotely as good as breaking bad and Ozark which seemed to work as an inspiration for this drama, and certainly not as good as Korean's cinema either. I like it that they tried to do something different for kdramas, but the result was lacking on too many levels.

Don't you think you're overreacting a tiny bit? I mean, this drama has a 9.2 rating, it's literally the highest rated kdrama here and the vast majority of the comments are super positive. It's also the most popular drama right now. Do you think a few criticisms can change this? I doubt it. Just let them voice their opinions, they have the right to. And it's also more interesting to see different comments with different point of views, not everyone has the same taste.

good?
I think yes. It's a short thriller, so they don't drag things out and they are able to keep the tension level high. It also means that there aren't any ridiculous plot twists, red herrings and cliffhangers put in there just to reach 16 episodes. For me it's very good so far.
