You singlehandedly erased all the good arguments against this drama with this fact, I'm impressed. Well, that's enough sarcasm for today, so I'll just say: want a show with a dumb lead? Watch Fargo instead, the writing simply puts this drama to shame. A good idea doesn't equal to good writing.

No, I don't think people making this high budget dramas are super smart. I watched Game of Thrones, higher budget than this one, we all know how it ended. I judge the writing for what it is, not for what it could have been if they executed better their ideas or for how much money went into it.

It's a boar. The original name for this drama was "boar hunting", but they changed it. And a boar appears in the first episode, so you can be sure that it's not an insect.

I agree with literally everything you said. I finished it yesterday and the writing in this drama is really sloppy. And it's not just the ML, all the characters in this drama are inconsistent.

Why are douban raters more critical and objective than the raters here? Aren't they ordinary people like us? Genuine question, because I have no idea where this opinion comes from

I know, I've had my fair share of disappointments with western dramas too lately. In this case it's worse because I had very high expectations for this drama since I loved the trailer and this type of thriller is usually totally my style, but I'm not getting many emotions out of it. As for Netflix kdramas I loved, those are Move to Heaven and Extracurricular because they both knew perfectly well what story they wanted to tell and how, while also giving depth to the main characters. I also liked Squid Game and D.P to a lesser extent.

It has barely been a month since I finished this drama, but I already miss it a lot as if I lost a dear friend.

I kinda feel this has the same problems as most Netflix original kdramas (there are exceptions of course): the premise is interesting, but the execution feels like lacking, the characters are the biggest problem because they seem soulless even when they're played by great actors, there's not much depth of emotions here. I still have to watch the last few episodes, but so far it seems like a blander version of Ozark tbh

I really need to rewatch this with better subs because I felt like I missed some parts in the plot and ended up being confused by some things (reason why I rated it "lower" than other Park Chan Wook's movies), but still I can say it was an amazing and elegant piece of art. It's a toxic love story, but you can't help rooting for them.

Less than 1.000 watchers? This is really sad, I think it's a good thriller that deserves a higher rating

After Our Blues I also wanted to watch something similar, so I started watching the other Noh Hee Kyung dramas. I highly recommend It's okay that's love (my favorite along with Our Blues), Dear My Friends and Live. I also recommend Misaeng, different writer, but similar feelings with an ensemble cast that is flawed but lovable.

I never commented here. I thought the drama was okay, but I dropped it around episode 10 because I lost interest as it felt too draggy and it took some plot turns I didn't like. I expected something more Fargo-ish (but with romance) after the first episode, so when it became undeniable that this wasn't the direction they were taking I dropped it. Just stating this fact since you said you didn't understand why one would drop it.


And, contrary to what you think, I don't always like popular dramas. I'm actually open to any genre, as you can see from my watch list, it's just that I didn't like this drama in particular. It doesn't have anything to do with values and I don't think it's correct to make assumptions on people based on a drama they dropped or liked

Aos was actually under 8 in ratings for a while, in the beginning . There are plenty of dramas that starts with low ratings and then those ratings increase a lot with time (take our blues for example, started lower than 8 and is now at 8.7 and getting higher in the rankings). I think 8.4 is already a veeery smooth start for a drama with only one episode released so far. But Idk what will happen, it's too soon to judge and the ratings may change drastically for the better or the worse like it happened a thousand times with other dramas

Don't get me wrong, I like zombie movies/dramas like Train to Busan and Kingdom, but I feel like right now there are too many horrors with zombies and too little with literally anything else; this drama, for example, was promoted as a psychological occult horror related to Buddhism, but then when you watch it's a typical zombie drama that tries to pretend to be something different. Of course this is just my opinion, it's not a bad watch, but my expectations were really high.

It's the closest thing to Mindhunter among Korean dramas since it's about profiling and the work of the main characters is inspired by the homonymous book written by John Douglas

I recommend watching the other dramas from the same writer, she's really amazing. Also Lost, My Mister and Misaeng are great slice of life dramas too.
