this episode felt a little stagnant for me idk why...the pacing felt off
I'm really hoping this episode pans out like episode 11 where it was just a lot going on, but then by episode 12 it was all wrapped up nicely and then he proposed. So this being the second half and with only four episodes left, I hope they resolve everything just as quickly so they can get to the good times.
Deok Im is the queen of self love lol. That aside the push and pull between the main leads is getting so monotonous…
This episode was all over the place, but I feel like that was the point of the stone game. This thing between is like a game, but to win someone has to lose. It's going to be that way until they stop playing games. LIKE...the scene was pointless except for that obvious allegory and the laughs.
Wait? Please tell me you all did not enjoy the child concubine part. I haven't watched, but I'm reading some negativity.…
They already changed a lot because the San in the novel is a bit of a dick. Whereas JunhoSan is much more tender. I'm too invested to give up at this point. It's only two more weeks and tomorrow it's two hours. I just hope they pull every trick they have out of their bag for the last four episodes. ๐ค๐ฝ๐ค๐ฝ
Did you read the novel ..can you tell me what happened because given limited number of episode , I can't see romance…
There's a thread in the discussion with a bunch of novel related spoilers given by folks who have read the novel. In the novel, she leaves the palace for about 6 mos and then returns when asked and then the King just decides to have her, and overnight she is changed because of that. That's why I'm hoping they just get to that point because the novel seemed more interesting when it focused on the struggle she had leaving her court lady life behind.
How on earth were they planning to end this in 16 episodes? Insanity.New, previously unannounced OST was added…
I remember you guys mentioning how the 2nd half historical are politics heavy, and there is some politics at play, but it seems like they shortened a lot of that for more SanDoek scenes, which is what fans want. If that what happens then it's a good thing IMO because we all know how the story ends.

The part with the sister was very brief and really the king had no choice but to accept her. I felt more ick factor toward the brother and the queen and the king's mom since they were the ones to arrange the deal. What hurt all this is none of this was explained. It all takes place off screen and we only see the end result. Plus, the episode ends with Doek-Im waiting outside the king's chambers. I believe they will show he didn't do anything and likely the girl will confirm it too. My only real complaint about the episode stems from the way all the stuff was copied and pasted into the episode. It's like the throw everything they had just to keep them from getting together for one more episode because they changed things up at the last minute. I just hope whatever they changed pays off in the end.
I think we'll get some passion next week. Jeeze...the way he was talking about the end of the preview for next…
Yeah, forcing passion is much easier to do in novels where you can tell the characters thoughts and feelings. But...then again he could just say those three magic words with a searing STARE and that would be a wrap for Doek-Im and I imagine the audience as well ๐

LOL....the tone is what sold me. The TONE!!!!! Good lord...my panties trembled just from the tone and I didn't understand a word he was saying. So yes, I think they will pay it off with some "action". If they follow the book then I imagine the king will overwhelm her with passion and she will give in. Depending on how that is executed it could be the hottest scene or the worst scene for some folks. But in the book, it seems like he just eventually said "F" it and called her to his room to get it on and his words finally made her give in and accept. After that it was a done deal and she was a concubine.
I have always assumed the drama was going to be more how he got DI to be his concubine and not much further but…
Same...I'm usually put out with the antics and stalling by that time. This drama has worked the push/pull aspect of their relationship very well. The FL and the ML make that very easy for them to do with their chemistry.
Where is this from? Oh...never mind. It's a troll.
LOL....LOL...maybe she was reading Twitter and saw all the disappointment from fans. LOL...some of the post are hilarious. I am going to say that she is probably right and we will get some "action" tomorrow. I mean...did you hear the tone of his voice at the end of next week's preview???? I do not speak a word of Korean, but my panties trembled slightly just from the tone. No lie!
Iโm giving up on kiss scene ๐๐ (i wonโt be clowned anymore lol)I think this one is too heavy to be categorized…
I think we'll get some passion next week. Jeeze...the way he was talking about the end of the preview for next week almost seems to guarantee it. Idk...maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part, but I think they got to pay off the tease for today with something exciting tomorrow. ๐ค๐ผ

I've skimmed through spoilers from the novel and it does seem like the drama is following the main lines from the book. Though, it was pretty obvious some of the scenes in this episode were taken from earlier/later story lines. Again, even though the episode was enjoyable overall it felt like it was pasted together with bits and pieces of certain stories, which made it seem disjointed.
I enjoyed episode 13 overall. After all the tension and drama from the last episodes, it was nice to have one that focused on some fun times. The rock skipping, the Tae-Ho talk, and the drunk king were hilarious and very well executed. However, the episode was unevenly paced and certain scenes seemed out of order, which makes me wonder how many changes were made to add an additional episode. The executions and banishing of traitors, along with the choosing of concubines, and Doek-Im rejecting the King AND his mom's offer to be her son's concubine (WTF?) were all jumbled together after a 3 year gap where everything seemed honky-dory. Even though this episode was entertaining, it was not a tightly woven one hour and nine minutes of storytelling. Since this is based on a romance book, I enjoy the fact the show focuses on the romance while trying to add other intriguing storylines, I just hope they don't get caught up with those storylines in lieu of the romance. I'm sure there will be many unhappy fans if they don't have at least one episode where the couple is genuinely happy before they rip everyone's hearts out. Still, overall this was a decent episode. Not one of the best, but not the worst either. My two cents.
