Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
I really hope they include the scene from the novel where he officially calls her to his bed and all the CLs start freaking out because it’s been so long since a king called for a CL. Then the next day everyone knows they got it on…lol. These guys have done so well the comedic moments I hope this is played for serious laughs.

I think the reasoning for her constant rejection will make more sense when they show the change her life is about…
Plus, I remember from the Yi-San drama the character having to go through classes and remembering to drop her honorifics. I am saddened by that loss of friendship because even the person who she considers like a mother will never be able to treat her the same again after she becomes a concubine. She seriously has to give up everything while he doesn’t have to give up anything.

On the fun side, the rose petals bath room plays as cameo for three times LOL.
I'm looking forward to the reaction when he finally calls her to his bed because it's like an official event...lol. I hope they play it with some cute and funny moments because...finally.

I am really hoping next week's episodes are extended like episode 14.

Agreed. It's not consistent. She saved up all this money for him. He'd been a huge purpose for her life, but he suddenly appears and then disappears just as quickly. Though, there does seem to be an effort to give all the cast a few moments to shine in their own scene, so maybe we will see him again.

While I enjoyed this scene and recognized it as being from the book...I was a little frustrated because I didn't even know who the chick was. She appeared out of nowhere with no real explanation, so although I loved the scene is was so off putting not to really know who this person was.

As much as I am frustrated with the show's pacing and Deokim's constant rejections , I find her rejections realistic…
I think the reasoning for her constant rejection will make more sense when they show the change her life is about to take. She won't be roasting chestnuts and yams with her girlfriends anymore. In fact, they won't even be able to call her by her first name anymore...I think.

Wow...I am still reeling from these three episodes. Of course, there were some of the same issues that plague all K-dramas in the end, which is the rush to tie up all the loose ends as quickly as possible. This drama would have benefited from 20 episodes, so I hope in the future there may be some director's cuts episodes and extended episodes. Yet, what saves this drama every time it starts to lose its way is the acting from the entire cast. I found myself just as interested in watching the other pivotal interactions, like the Go game. It was a beautifully shot scene with nothing but quiet intensity, even the OST is turned down which lends more affect. It was also a great contrast to the light hearted game he played with Doek-Im. Different player with entirely different stakes. Then the scene with Doek-Ro and the king where he banished him, even Tae-Ho got in on the action. Then we get the kiss and Doek-Im's final (?) rejection and she leaves the palace for a year (?) to work for his sister. We don't see anything in that year for either character which is...bizarre. I again wonder what sort of changes were made to the story for an additional episode to be added because clearly there were changes made and some of these changes are not good. But again...the acting always saves what elements might be lacking in the story. I'm already sad about next week's two episodes and the end of this drama. It wasn't perfect but it hit a lot of the right notes consistently to be entertaining and addicting, which is what makes a good K-drama for me. On a side note, I guarantee Netflix will be looking into doing their own version of Yi-San because Netflix has a lot of money to spend ..lol. And I'm sure they have also taken note of THE STARE. Junho, my man, when Netflix calls and throws you 2 billion won just accept it! Because trust me, bruh! They are going to want to recreate whatever magic you got going on. Believe that!

I see the Binyeo in her hair! 🥰 Uibin Seong!
SERIOUSLY...there are now two distinct directions in this show and where they once were harmonious.... That's the not the case now. It's like the difference between LOTR-Hobbit scenes directed by Serkis and those that weren't. There's is subtle difference that permeates the entire surrounding.

There are two distinctive directors. One might be the DA, but that person has a very distinct style. It's clear to me when I see multiple angles of the same shot. Whoever that person is.... THEY NEED TO BE FIRED!

What I really didn't understand was what made the king's mom join up with the queen. Like that all happened off…
She does. She dies and apparently it drives him into madness. Which is what I think the line about him not seeing the big picture anymore is about. After his sister dies, Doek becomes the monster he was always meant to be. I don't see how he can come back after this, so I agree with other posters that the end for him is nigh.

This again is why I think she might actually leave the palace for a bit. His protectiveness and obsession with her will cause him to act on Doek...maybe. I just don't know because I don't think it was supposed to go this way. It's just the change for fan service that is screwing up the narrative, and...I'm not unhappy about that! So....

You're talking about the queen from history that isn't shown, right?
