Same. I'm actually amazed at this drama's ability to keep me engaged on a weekly basis. Except for GOT, I usually wait until the season is over...but with these two I just can't. I'm just glad I live in America. Other INTL fans are waiting days before the translated videos for their languages are updated. I can only imagine the fit I would be throwing right now if that was me. My heart goes out to you guys. Stay strong!

I haven't been on vacation in so long. I was in the military (USN) and I like traveling, but have a....weird relationship with the Far East. I've only vistied Singapore, but when I was there no local would speak to me. 😞

Watch North and South Book 1 and 2. This was a mini series shown in America during...what might be considered a golden age of public TV programming. See if you can figure out what's going if you don't the history. For me, that' the big thing with K-dramas. I have no understanding of the history. Like literally I just figure out that S. Korea had a military dictatorship during the 80s. Like...I never heard that. The first ever heard of Korea was in 88 Olympics.

It's like watching a weird play with no context. I can never understand and if there isn't a simplification I will give up. It's so different, as an American it's hard to understand some concepts.

What I think might be a real missed opportunity is the dynamic between all these women who are just sitting around currying for the King's favor...and grace (sleeping together?) and the other women? I don't know how anyone accepts multiple women as a part of the dynamic of life. To my Western mind it is the strangest behavior, but I can see why Doek-Im wouldn't want to give up a life of roasting chestnuts with her girls to court life. That's what I'd like to see what it might have been like.

Let's be honest...Pleasure in suffering and crying is cathartic. That's why true stories of love alway beckon.

Tbh...I want a happy ending, but I want closure as well. That's a fine line and at this point I think the writers can do it, but it depends on how much history they want to include. As an American, who is totally unfamiliar with K-history, I need a more simplistic political plot. Again, I'm a newbie to K-drama, but one of the draw backs for me when it comes to historical depictions in K-dramas is I can't figure out what's going on because there is too much going on. For comparison, it would be like watching HBO's John Addams without knowing who anyone is. I think with this drama KISS: Keep it Simple Stupid, is the best to engage a wider audience. There has to be a way to balance the politics in a simple way without making it to convoluted.

I don't know where you at in the drama, but the ML's toxicity is somewhat potent because it's from all the angst of not having the FL in his life the way he wants. Hope this helps you keep watching. I don't want you to miss out on this event... because right now it is totally epic!

Which is why I watched teaser 2 a few times. Seriously, I dislike things called teasing if you aren't going to ante up the goods. That scene NEEDS to be in the show because HE looks more intense in the daylight. And as a Viki subscriber, I am demanding more content. My $10 must go to this show and again I demand more content!
