For me, I really cannot continue a show where it's blatantly obvious the person in disguise is a girl but everyone plays along as if that's a guy. Very off-putting for me. That's why cross-dressing genre doesn't excite me much. More often they don't give us a convincing disguise.

True. AJTL was simply superior in all aspects right from cinematography, action choreo etc. They paid attention to detail & I think maybe had a great budget to accommodate all this ?

You couldn’t be more wrong as to why I chose AJTL for comparison. My reasoning was in reference to how LSS was captivating enough as a strong themed FL from get go in AJTL right from ep1 while you don’t get the same feeling here. The comparison wasn’t on the completed AJTL but wrt the initial drop AJTL had. It got me hooked from ep 1. Here I had to fast forward & even then it was so dull that I had to drop. AJTL had way superior cinematography & editing plus the lead actors had amazing screen presence even with the first 6 episode sample size if you are so keen. Also another reason for using it as reference was coz someone below had brought it up as well to suggest how we might have something as good as AJTL.

I am not a newbie watcher that adds a show for comparison randomly. cheers

Sorry, but NO. This is nowhere close to Journey to love. The initial episode drop for AJTL was kickass from get go & LSS kept you hooked right from frame one. The 6 episodes here fails dramatically on almost all aspects like cinematography, editing, makeup, lead actors screen presence etc in comparison to AJTL.

I am not feeling it. Honestly it was boring. Neither the FL nor ML are interesting enough or give any protagonist energy & the screenplay/story buildup for 6 episodes wasn't gripping either. The makeup is a mess. The choppy editing is also very distracting. If you start this wanting for something like AJTL, I am sorry, it's going to be a disappointment.

As usual they do a piss poor job when disguising the FL as a man. In what way she looks like a guy I don't know. Arghh

But it is the truth . Idols are casted only for business and not for their acting skills. It's just a bonus if they end up acting well which is pretty rare in K-Ent 😂

Don't be afraid to call a spade a spade. She is a terrible actress & was pretty bad in snowdrop. Only BP stans are still hyping up that mediocre debut out of that idol loyalty. Let's be honest here.. she got the gig just coz she is a popular idol just like plenty other subpar idol actors out there coz it's good business end of the day for producers as it will bring eyeballs & money irrespective of the quality of the series.

Actually both. Modern as well as flashbacks are the same. The overall camerawork is very distracting or off putting for me. Like it's very 2015 types or to be precise , same like the daily soap operas. The whole vibes is similar to a theatrical play instead of a show. Even if it's meant to be nostalgic, this one just doesn't cut it for my taste.

Which year was this filmed? The camerawork & the general vibe is making it look like one of those daily soap operas from Korea. Is it meant to be like that? So distracting for me :/

The child actor ate that up omg. What a performance. esp. the scene where she keeps asking the riddle to the intruder without knowing the danger & slowly sensing it... the slow bonding with her uncle etc. Just wow. I hope there are more flashback scenes of her with LDW in next episodes coz I really wanna watch more of this kid.

Shin hyun been is such a good actor but poor her off late getting stuck with projects where her character is written so poorly even if the drama does well . Reborn rich before, now this & I don't have any hope for cindrella 2AM either as there will still be some hate coz of agegap. This does no good for her career & personally it hurts to see a good actor being wasted away like this. Her company needs to do better :/

I am dropping this not even coz of the main leads but because I cannot handle the fact tong xin has been made to be a rebound for this immature SML who just got rejected by FL. She is such a beautiful character, confident single mom, funny & exudes charisma even better than the FL. Why to pair such an elegant woman with a fresh outta college type guy who still gives off teen energy esp. after that cringe af proposal to FL? Even with a character development, I fail to see how he can be a match for her later. Massive disappointment & not a big fan of these forced pairings of second leads.
