Kind of noticing a princess theme here too especially after the talk of the white pony/horse perfume and Prince Charming:
SCC kissing TQ's cheek to "wake" up his color visions - Snow White/Sleeping Beauty SCC picking up TQ's one slipper and putting it on for him - Cinderella
I get it but I also think it kind of reflects on real-life firing(?) too (? because I am not sure if she is fired…
Yeah, I get the "thrill" of wanting to see a villain be put into their place but at the same time, I appreciate this drama not doing that. I think this is a drama that respects even its side characters and "save" their face too. Her type of character is really easy to dislike but I think the scriptwriter was able to give her some characteristics/moments where she is more than just a one-dimensional NPC villain character.
Yeah, his phrase "you worked so hard to reject me" was pure comedy inside of a tragedy š
Truly. š They really are made for each other because like GY said, what normal person keeps going back like TQ. Usually, once you get rejected or encounter something weird, a typical person would just move on.
C-side is making jokes and observations that TQ is probably someone that /likes/ being dominated in this type of love that seems suffocating/end of the world type of love. It is in line with his motto when it comes to love.
I feel a bit deprived not getting to see mean girl work colleague officially get in trouble. Hearing about it…
I get it but I also think it kind of reflects on real-life firing(?) too (? because I am not sure if she is fired just yet, they might address it again later). š Most of the time, it is hush-hush. TQ noticed her looking guilty already back during the make-up scene and her looking at the Vandai executive. Then her telling her co-workers the rumors with TQ must be false which does indicate in some sense she feels bad (though it could also be because the scheme didn't work out). But the way they are dealing with this storyline is in line with how this drama treats its characters. Down to earth IMO.
SCC might not win employee of the month but sure she is going to win EMPLOYEE WITH THE MOST DAY OFFS ššš¤
They might as well make her an online remote worker instead. š It is probably a commentary too on being "not" at work physically but still getting the work done anyway. There was a lot of debate on people working remotely and employers trying to make workers show up at the office again.
well he saw it with his own eyes everything, what else can he do apart from acknowledging it. to make it worse…
I don't know much since it is just from the character chart. But there is supposedly another female character who will be introduced. Might be from their school days who will "push" their development. From some clips I saw, she seems to be an archery athlete so maybe SCC's friend?

Not sure if it is a language/cultural difference but majority of the people on C-side gets SCC's character. She is also the character the audience has come to love first over there before liking any other characters. You mention her doing "something cruel" when she does not have the POV of the other person.
All the "deaths" have been her trying to escape from TQ, it is not exactly fun on her end either when he is showing up at her house, blowing up her phone, contacting the people around her. It is exactly because we are shown these scenes that people are able to get her decisions. Before SM's death, she texted TQ if he could stop liking her and she got a non-response. FJ is literally because FJ exists in real life and she had to disappear to not impact her. QST was because TQ would not let it go (she was already leaving via car but he showed up again) and was relentless about seeing the two of them at the same time. She even considered not doing the death scenario but then she got the text picture from QSL that TQ showed up at her house.
TQ reflected on his own that if he had let go early on when asked, "they" probably won't have to die. Again, the script had these scenes in exactly to show both of their behaviors escalated the situation. It is so easy to just blame one person when this drama already provides logical explanations why it is not one person's fault that led to the current outcome.
It is absolutely hilarious that SCC and LY didn't clock how out of pocket it was that "QST's grandma" would reenact QST's death scene. š Part of it is really just SCC going along with whatever TQ wants. Even when TQ called her about QST, she really didn't have to answer all his questions. The comedy in this drama is just so good.
Making Su Chengcheng a terrible person after today's episodes should feel outdated.Tang Qi has listened to her…
Yup, they are not on the same page yet. Though TQ has realized his feelings but SCC? That girl will take a while. She has suppressed her feelings for too long and has viewed him as a boss for a while at this point. It will take a lot for her to view him in a possible romantic light again.
Just look at their text messages to each other. Within the time she has worked there, her text exchange with TQ as SCC was like 6 text messages in total. Once about the flower refund, once about the grandma's address, and then once about coming clean about the bracelet.
The camera language made sure the audience can see that text message screen so clearly for a reason, it is to show that their relationship is really only just beginning without the filters presented.
I really don't understand the low rating. can't even wrap my head around what's there not to like.
Review bombing from fans of the other dramas/other actors/actresses. People are rating episodes that haven't even release yet with low ratings. š Plus this drama doesn't spoon-feed moments. It is hard to define this as a typical idol romance drama because the leads are not head over heels for each other by episode 1. In addition, the characters are layered so I feel like their characterization flies over people's heads sometimes.
They just want the characters to date and don't care for their development as characters. Idol romance dramas are usually easy to consume, you have a pretty/kind girl and a hot/tall guy and they have feelings for each other. They hug, they kiss, and tons of fluttering moments. But this drama focuses more on introspection before getting into a relationship. Halfway through the drama and the main relationship is /just/ maybe starting as something concrete so it is not fit for an audience who just wants very obvious romance from the get-go.
ngl, this is The Best Thing airing right now quite literally :P
Haha, it is funny because C-side was like the 3 currently airing romance modern dramas should all swap their Chinese title names with each other. Though now they are making jokes that TQ is 儽å (easy to comfort).
Did TQ hire those actors? I thought they were from vandai, wanted to collect evidence of tang qi going blind for…
Yup, he is so smart and his brain works so quick. I guess he didn't expect that SCC was going to do so much to protect him too so that was an unexpected award from the situation.
