I wonder if by "instill beliefs" she meant /forcefully/ making people nice people, and that's why everyone gets along so well.

Or if instead the flowers are slowly extracting demonic essence as people smell and admire them, which is then being sold but the demons themselves have no idea what's up.

(On the other hand it's a lovely village apart from the demon harvesting so it'd be so nice to be wrong ;-;)

I can't think of that many ways to pass such a message not carrying huge risk, as she doesn't know how she's being watched or where all the other spies watching her are, eg. other spider webs, butterflies, scrying magic, etc. She controlled the dosage to be not too lethal, only giving him a tiny bit, which he was actually able to expel anyway (though she rushed back anyway to help him to be safe.) I think she did all right under her (very bad) circumstances, since if she'd been overheard telling him the truth and asking for his help, her brother would have been torn apart (as spider boss would have realized she couldn't be controlled anymore by threats/coercion) and she cares about her little brother too. (The reason she's so grateful to him for helping her is so that she can grow the power needed to save her baby bro and herself.)

Since it is a Gu poison, I think that kind of poison mainly works by spiritual worms attaching themselves to your spiritual energy and then killing you by the worms feeding on your spiritual power that way. (though I could be wrong). So her own energy being weaker probably means the Gu poison, while bad, wouldn't have been anything like as lethal to herself as to him as she's yet to properly refine much spiritual power. So that's probably why it was slower to attack her than him, and also why he knew he could overcome the poison by closing off his spiritual power veins once it reached it's completion and just expelling it.

Only Ep6 has been what-the-heck-ish so far (mainly in some translated names)
On iQIYI, the rest of the eps have been very good.

They are well casted as cousins, agree there’s a family resemblance and charisma clearly flows in this family 😂

Feel for you, I like the voice they’ve used for her here myself (lucky for me) but I have voices I hate in other dramas and I know the feeling 😂

it was definitely a guy swinging (or looked like one to me) so I don’t think it’ll be a girl, but exactly, it could literally be anyone 😂😂 (Anyone who can unleash that move, anyway.) And any number of years in the future too!

She doesn’t necessarily have no use for her— Qingtong is much more powerful as a human than a tiny spider since she can now cultivate much faster, and has weaknesses that make her controllable, so she’s still very much useful even if Fugui died, or that was my reading.)

He said her clan can send messages by web vibration (so they could spin webs in the house and then listen to the talking from a distance) as I doubt he dusts regularly. and there’s Demon Suppressing Talismans too, which even stopped his clan from noticing her in their midst, so they’re effective. Even Evil Dad 2 could spy on what was happening at a distance with demonic energy. So there are many ways to watch her, and she only knows that they are somehow.

(And exactly, Spider Boss worked out that Fugui is short on weaknesses thanks to him sharing his sword form, so she’d like to get him attached to her spy, she could already do all the spying with the string of spies she was sending anyway.)

She was very trapped, knowing that she’s being spied on herself and that if she’s overheard telling him, her brother will die. even stuff like the “you missed a good opportunity to poison that tea” etc means she’s constantly watched herself, and has no way to pass info or ask for cooperation, unlike Rumu 💔

I think it’s a demon marking/tatoo like her forehead one as I think it’s there in her spider form too, but I could be mis-seeing it?

But if you look at the statistics breakdown, everyone is rating it higher than 8.1 so all the 300 are not putting 1 stars, they are rating it highly. And the actual aired eps are also higher 😀 It’s that it’s an average of the 300 votes average (assume 50% weighting) plus the episode average (assume 50% weighting) that means the minority putting 1 stars on the unaired eps is dragging the total down. (As it disproportionately affects the rating if 29 out of 36 eps score low.)

Maybe just by some trolls— if it was a whole fandom it’d be more than 4-5 people, but it’s only a few. So most likely just a few bad eggs trolling by 1-starring the unaired eps.

This is a good question— it’s someone who’s mastered his sword form and the heaven-earth strike and is wounded by love, but as far as I know it’s just someone with brown hair who they think is him because he’s the only one who’s mastered that sword form.

Fugui could dye his hair early to avoid the prophecy 🤣🤣 And also the Worst Dad Ever said Cousin had half-mastered Heaven Earth Sword Strike in the desert and is hunting a dragon he’s very much in love with. At the moment it’s unclear who it is 👀
