For the time being let's just hope they either drop it soon or they find a way to make it work.
Have a lovely day too.
Plus there were all these posts by crew members and actors pointing to the release of the series, so I have some hope.
I hope you are right and there are no problems and most of all I hope we watch it...
Generally okay.
How are u?
Yes, exactly. Tbh though, I am a bit apprehensive about it. If they make a ''wrong move'' and they decide that it would be okay to sell it as a straight romance, it would be pretty disappointing and pretty bad especially from a reader's perspective.
I just read the second paragraph of what you wrote and yeap exactly what I am also afraid of. I saw that they also changed another character's gender (but I am not sure what his purpose on the novel is so far, so idk).
Btw, when you said you have read the first novel you mean the seven seas one right?
Yes, I have the same worries. I feel like the only thing we can rely on is the script and the chemistry between the characters. If Mo Ran's character has a better chemistry (which I believe he will) with Chu Wanning, then there will not be any actual huge problems.
Yes, let's see. For the time being let's hope that it gets to see the light of day and that no scandals with happen until then.
Regarding the theme of the story (I also haven't read that much of the book yet), I also feel like there are many things that are difficult to be adapted one way or another comparing to other danmei adaptations.
However, having seen some leaks I was already impressed that they actually filmed some of those scenes, since I expected them not to.
I feel the change of gender in some characters was also a ''censorship'' move.
I personally feel like they could manage to portray the complexity of the world building in the series (of course excluding some elements and events that are not able to pass censorship).
Tbh, I don't know what to even expect regarding the releases of the series. I feel like technically HYX should get released first (with the more optimistic view saying that it will come out on April), but you never know since they belong to different platforms. It seems to me that they may drop the least anticipated dramas first.
Regarding the censorship, I feel like things are way more lax, so as long as tencent doesn't decide to butcher the drama just to be safe, it will be good enough.
I do have a bad feeling though, since they unnecessarily cut scenes from LoN (that was not even a danmei adaptation), when Justice in the Dark didn't seem to actually be edited much and included all intimate scenes.
Regarding the other adaptations, I don't feel like this series has anything to do with it. I feel like everyone is either being cautious or they just wait for the right time to air them...
We've been waiting for so long though. I hope we get to see them, before anything else happens π
Like I get why all these adaptations were filmed. The previous ones were very popular so they needed money, but what's with all the new ones? They are filming other series and they haven't even released one of them (with the exception of JITD that no one knows when it will continue) π
It better be π
