If they make the episodes short and cut as they did with LoN I will be so mad, I'm not waiting three years for…
I agree. Plus the whole ''cutting scenes'' seems to be mostly a tencent thing.
Justice in the dark doesn't seem to have many cut scenes so far and it is following the novel quite closely (plus episodes are quite long)

Same thing. I don't really feel the impact, because I try to decipher what the characters are saying.
However, like PeachBlossomGoddess said, I feel like we will get subs, but we will need to wait a bit. Hopefully it won't take too long.

Congrats! I don't know how things work there, but 14 out of 18 sounds fantastic. I hope you get to finish soon…
Oh, okay. That sounds tough.
Good luck and I hope it doesn't get too tiring 💜

where can i watch it with subs? where's no subs on Youku :/
Unfortunately the only subs available are machine translated and they are very hard to understand, especially if you haven't read the book.
However, if you are still willing to watch it, they are available on the youku app, so basically you need to download it on a cell phone.

No schedule, it looks like. The countdown says that at 11pm, more episodes will come out. Maybe that’s when…
Thank you! I hope so.

Will Youku not release this for non vips? I thought that ep. 3 would be available for free today.

Is there a schedule or something?

sadly, i cannot remember, where i saw better summaries, but what I have been reading this week, reminded me vagely…
I only watched the first two, but that whole genetic thing seem to have been added for censorship reasons. So far it is mentioned here and there, but doesn't seem that important.

It may go that direction, but generally that is not part of the book, so I don't think it will play a serious role in the series.

The book js basically "solving cases" type of book, with some dark background character stories. I suppose they will just add that "bad genes" thing to justify why some people would do so cruel crimes (due to censorship).

Of course someone that watched all 8 eps will know better! Hope that helps a bit though.

Did u check the facts first ?1. They are not allowed to do any promotion whatsoeverALON, actors did life broadcast…
I agree, however justice in the dark is an entirely different conversation.
First of all, I'll clarify that I have watched only the two first eps.
It looks like the name changes, sci-fi elements and ''future'' setting may have been their decision from the start. Even if they added it now, it doesn't look like it has any importance to the plot.

Regarding the relationships, well that is a different story.
WoH was ''extreme'' in terms of that and it was actually much more romantic than the novel. However, a big part of the series -plot wise- was almost completely changed comparing to the novel (and they added way too many ''bromance'' scenes that weren't in the original to begin with).
The Untamed based the love relationship of the two leads on the stares and atmosphere. It was not even close to WoH. It was very subtle.

I don't know about the later episodes, but so far Justice in the Dark follows the novel very closely both plot wise and relationship wise. From what I remember there are barely any ''romantic'' moments between the leads in the first two novels. Their romance is the definition of a slow burn.
They seem to have kept the scenes that also appeared in the novel between the two leads, obviously without mentioning the infatuation of the two leads towards that other character (something that I actually did not really expect).

To be honest, I feel like you are right, in terms of ''cutting'' scenes, but I have some hope left. I think it all depends on tencent and how much they will decide to cut. Justice in the Dark is also a way of testing the waters. The censorship doesn't seem to be very strict. Let's hope for the best 🙏

Haha, right now I am convinced that 🐧 used CFY as scape goat…so we would blame CFY for hyx not airing first…
I agree, but let's see.

I am feeling like they will just start dropping all the danmei adaptations one after the other.

Ah interesting...I would have preferred Winner is King to be released first out of Priests novels but certainly…
There is a rumour that Winner is King will air in March. Taking into consideration that danmei adaptations are finally allowed to air, it is very possible.
I don't think tencent would want to lose more money by not airing their series.

I have only watched the first 2 eps, but like it is already mentiones, if you exclude the name and the genre changes (that so far make no actual difference in the story), it follows the book pretty closely.

Is there a way to watch it (subbed or unsubbed, I'm not fussy!) without using the Youku app? Do we know if they'll…
You can make an account on youku's chinese site for free, however there are only Chinese subs. You can watch it without an account too, if I am right, but with a lower quality. If you sign up for a non vip account you will be able to watch it with Chinese subs (I think) in 720p.

It is not difficult making an account, but you have to give your phone number if I am not mistaken. Since the site is in Chinese, I just translated the page and it was fine. Usually there is a translation choice next or under the site's name when you search it on Google or next to the url when you already are on the page, if you are using Chrome at least.

Hope that helps a bit.

Even though I don't feel any chemistry between the leads, there were definitely many "moments" between them and so far their interactions are pretty similar with the book.

hoping kisskh pick this drama for the eng sub, chebal hahah
kisskh and all those platforms don't do any translating.

They just take the series and subs from other sources (be it the original platform or fan subbers and post it on their own). So if no platform picks this up, there will be no subs 🥲
On Justice in the Dark Feb 18, 2023
I don't think I would be able to follow the series, if I hadn't read the majority of the book.

The cases are pretty complicated, so I hope there will be actual subs for this show soon.

they just aren't BL anymore, that's why they can air
We'll see I suppose. Things may have changed with the recent ban, but I am still having hope since the older ones didn't have any of that.

I haven't watched this one yet, but I hope there are not these type of relationships in the series. I don't want them to add relationships that are not in the book, like them having a girlfriend or something.

However, censorship is there for years. Their relationship would be censored anyways. Regarding LoN it was never a danmei to begin with.
