People may do, especially if it is relatable in some way. It also seems to have a similar (and heavier) melancholy vibe to my mister, which is one of the highest rated series here. Plus many people are anticipating it, because of the book. Personally, I anticipate this a lot and I have high expectations. If it is done right, it could be a masterpiece.

I have seen the trailer of 'Who rules the world' more times than I would like to admit. Yang Mi's dramas went straight to my ptw list. Thanks for the article!

I don't think people will see any spoilers of this, since barely anyone talks about it, but I agree that it is better to watch, while it is airing.

I don't know about the response, but it is number 2 on S. Korea's Netflix.

Since this is a netflix original, it doesn't have that many episodes (same with previously released series like Kingdom and upcoming ones like my name or hellbound)

So far it's a good watch. Not a masterpiece, but keeps your attention. Don't pay that much attention to the rating. Not many people are watching this and I am sure that many are waiting for this to finish, before rating it!

Frankly my expectations are too high for this. It has my mister vibes and it seems to be loosely based on the No longer human novel by Osamu Dazai, so I am expecting a masterpiece. I hope it won't be a dissapointment though, because these kind of series are either unforgettable or a big disaster.

The violence in the military is a huge issue worldwide not just in Korea though. There are many cases of violence, but due to the fact that in many countries the military has lots of power or is idolized by the soldiers themselves (sometimes) they never go into the light. Korea has definently many problems, like the justice system, the beauty standards and the idol culture. For us it seems that they exaggerate over many things and it is logical since in many countries things like cancelling an idol for being a bully in the past is out of the question. If those accusations are actual though (and taking into consideration how violent bullying can get) I don't know if we should decide about it or not. There is no perfect country and the fact that series like these are made to show the actual problem is great. Other countries don't aknowledge their flaws by showing them in series that easily. Take for example the U.S. military. There are some movies here and there that show that things are tough in the system, but most of them advertise patriotism and the equipment they have.

Interesting review. With all the issues that you said that the series deals with, it looks just like my type of drama. I am glad there is just dark humor, because I am not a fan of comedies and the trailer looked like this wouldn't be as serious as you described. Now I will just have to wait to get back from vacation so I can activate my netflix account and watch it!

Some series in the same genre more or less that I enjoyed are:
Flower of evil (fast paced, interesting characters, good story. Not a masterpiece for me, as many people say, but definitely an entertaining and solid series)
Children of Nobody (This is a hit or miss. Either you'll love it or hate it. It is quite slow paced and what I loved the most is the fact that it dealt with a very sensitive subject quite delicately and made me question lots of things.)
Trap (besides the final episode that was a disaster, it is a good series, with dark vibes and quite easy to watch since it is only 7 eps)
dele (more like a mystery-drama. It is a 'one case per episode' series. Great characters, unique concept and stories)
Kazoku game (my favorite jdrama. Great execution of something that sounds very simple. It is mostly a satire about lots of things though, so keep that in mind. First scene is enough to make you interested in watching.)

If you liked the devil judge, you will probably like Taxi driver too. It is also based on the concept of justice and revenge, even though it is more like an action series comparing to the devil judge.

According to Han So Hee's profile on instagram, this will be in the 26th Busan international film festival that is beginning on the 6th of October and ending on the 15th, so it will probably get released either between those dates or after the 16th (just a guess)

That's fine. We all have different opinions. This is not a show so much about who the killer is or the plot twists, but mostly about the people that are left behind after they experienced a loss and how their lives changed because of it. The writer said so herself, that this is about giving voices to the victims (not only the people that lost their lives, but mostly the ones that had to deal with the consequences.) We all like different things and that's okay. What I mostly meant to say, is that for me at least, this series can't really be compared with the devil judge, because they have completely different concepts and are taking place in different societies.

This has nothing to do with the devil judge though. I personally found this one a masterpiece comparing to the devil judge. It has a solid plot, great acting, well written characters, nice OST. However it is not for everyone. This one is slow paced, character driven series, while the devil judge is more fast paced and more plot driven. If you don't like slow paced series in general you will probably not like this one either.

It's also available on viki. You should watch it on netflix if it is available there though. It would be nice to support the series in a legal way.
