Besides the bromance that is also more intense in Beyond evil those two series have nothing else in common. The devil judge is more plot driven, while beyond evil is character driven. Beyond evil is much darker. Both series have a good cast, but Shin Ha Kyun was just pure perfection in his role. Both series have good osts. Beyond evil is way better written than the devil judge and obviously more realistic since it is a mystery/psychological thriller, while the devil judge takes place in a dystopia. Even though both Ga On and Han Ju Won may seem similar at first, since they are convinced that the main lead is guilty, that is were the similarity ends. Han Ju Won is a quite clever character, comparing to Ga On who is basically stupid af. Also Beyond evil is a slow paced series, while the devil judge isn't. Overall Beyond evil for me is a masterpiece and the best series of the ones I have seen this year (and one of my favs), but it depends on your taste and what you are looking for. It is definitely not for everyone.

You should keep checking until the first episode gets released. Sometimes it takes a while before viki buys the rights for multiple countries. For example when the second season of penthouse was airing the show wasn't available in my region and to other countries too, but about a day or two before the first episode it became available, so keep an eye on it!

I didn't find it that good either, but it was an entertaining watch and I am glad I watched it while it was airing, because for me it is not binge worthy. However to be fair, it was a pretty solid series. Most dramas in this genre are complete disasters. This one had great acting, great directing, nice OST and the plot was quite solid with no loopholes (or at least loopholes that can easily be noticed). I wanted something darker too, like the ML really being the killer, but the show in general was good. Even though he wasn't the killer his character was quite well written and it really did play with the viewers emotions, since it was not obvious if he really was the bad guy or not. I liked how they portrayed that he kind of didn't have feeling and even though he may have been feeling something towards the end (with all the crying and such), he didn't know himself what it was, and it was certainly different from most human beings. I am still waiting for a drama where the protagonist is a pure villain. That would be very interesting to watch. All in all, I don't think it deserves an 9.1 in MDL but for it's genre is one of the best I have seen.

I loved how Sun Ah said that she was the one who put Ga On in that position. I mean that makes sense, if you take into consideration that he is just too dumb to take that position because of his talent. The same thing probably happened with Oh Jin Joo.

I hope there in no second season. It's not impossible, but like someone already mentioned I don't know if the ratings are good enough for the series to have another season.

I agree. I think most people are frustrated because of Ga On's character and they end up saying that Jin Young is an awful actor. Everyone has their own opinion though and that's fine. For me, he is quite good and obviously I can't compare him with veteran actors like Ji Sung.

It's fine to have different opinions. He is certainly not perfect, but he is good enough. I think that is not his fault. Ga On's character is just badly written. He is a naive and indecisive child that doesn't know which side to choose and he is always confused about where he stands. For me his surprised expressions and the ''I don't know what to believe'' look are fine, since Ga On as a character doesn't know who and what to believe so in the end he always gets fooled. I agree that maybe the role is too big for him and there is certainly big pressure since he is surrounded by some fantastic actors, but for me at least if the character was written better he would do a better job. There are actual actors that are much worse than him. But yeah, there is always room for improvement.

Inzahgi was fed by Vincenzo and he ended up saving his life, while Ga On was saved multiple times by Yo Han and he ended up destroying him. Inzahgi superiority. That bird knew its priorities and which side to choose.

I agree with this on a sentimental level. There is only one episode left and it seems that we will finally see him choosing a side.

Episode 15 was great though. It kind of liberated the series. In my opinion at least.

I agree with the other comment. I don't think he said it literally. The thing about Ga On is that he was indecisive af and he didn't know what side to choose. He ended up believing the people closest to him and that's why he ended up being fooled even by his professor. Yo Han was the one that made him question his morals head-on and I believe that now he finally decided to kill his old self and to redeem himself and actually choose Yo Han's side.

I don't find his performance bad. When I found out that he would play, I was hesitant to watch it, because idol actors are a hit or a miss. However I found his performance quite decent. I may not like Ga On as a character, but he is quite good. It's unfair to compare him with veteran actors that are not idols and have much more experience than him.

Depends on your taste. I would say that you should give it a chance. Personally I enjoyed it (besides two episodes).

I agree. She is an amazing villain though. One of the best I have seen and Kim Min Jung portrays her perfectly. You should cover this as a spoiler though. It would be a pity for someone that is watching Vincenzo right now to know about a characters death.
