If I remember correctly, in Story of Kunning Palace they portrayed her first life as more of a nightmare rather than literal time travel. She was also a writer in the modern era, and her story mirrored the plot of the drama. It’s not like she actually went back to the past, rewrote it, and changed reality.
In contrast, in How Dare You?, Dan goes back to the modern world 15 years before Wanyin and uses his knowledge of the future to make different choices while waiting for her to return from the novel she transmigrated into.
What i most like in this drama is the equal screen time for both protagonist most cdramas female centric or from…
No transmigration or time-travel c-dramas include a modern-day continuation because it’s restricted in China. There are several reasons for this, but one of them is that authorities don’t want to promote the idea that you can rewrite your life story or change your destiny by going back to the past and altering your choices
I would've agreed with the current rating if they had given us the novel ending mentioned in the comments for…
The ending of the novel would’ve never passed censorship because when Dan returns to the modern world, he uses everything Wanyin told him to become a CEO and orchestrate an entire plan to pull her into the book’s world so they can reunite. That’s exactly one of the reasons this kind of drama gets censored in China: it promotes the idea that you can rewrite your destiny through reincarnation or by jumping between worlds.
There's actually nothing special in episode 30 without 21-29. I don't understand why people so obsess about episode…
I don’t think I explained myself well in my earlier comment. If they’re gonna give us a separation scene, I need the love story to really make me feel that the ML and FL love each other and that it hurts not to be together. That way I can root for their happy ending. Hope that makes more sense!
I feel like it was the best ending for Sanho and Munju. He was always going to be a spy with all those charges hanging over him, and Korea was always going to be her home. They just couldn’t be together. Also, I’m sure he’s alive because of that open door before everything exploded
new title? does it mean is no longer a dramatisation of the donghua I Dare You?
It’s still connected to it, but I think they changed the name for two reasons: 1) to set it apart from the short drama based on the same novel (not the donghua, I mean the mini drama), and 2) because it’s the iconic line between the two leads
this is one of the best transmigration drama 😍😍😍it's different from the rest. I have the novel if you're…
It’s really different, just like you said. I love how everything keeps unfolding. The main characters just win your heart. The ML’s backstory really hit me, and I just hope the adaptation captures the essence of the original novel
BUT every single time travel cdrama ive watched has a terrible ending... so I think im going to wait for this…
It’s got that same touch of comedy as that drama, but this story is way deeper than it looks on the surface. I’m excited for it too. Hopefully it gets its distribution license soon so we can finally watch it
Watching the trailer was exactly how I imagined it when I read the novel. I’m even more excited now. Cheng Lei and Wang Churan are perfect as Xia Hou Dan and Yu Wan Yin. Can’t wait!

It’s not a time-travel drama, it’s a transmigration one. The ML and FL actually become characters in a historical web novel. And the original story it’s based on does have a happy ending
