The scissors emoji appears on all three calendars: the drama’s, Ping Jun’s, and Chang Xuan’s. I also saw a clip of that scene, and from what I could tell, she already has her memories back by then.

The button is about the fire, but I think it has more to do with revealing who was really responsible than with her memories coming back. There’s another clue in Chang Xuan’s character calendar, too

I think she already remembers everything by that point. These emojis have me overthinking what they could mean, especially with all the spoilers I’ve seen.

Shadow Love was my favorite drama when I watched it. I’d read the novel, and the drama surpassed it by far, despite its flaws. This drama is very different from that one, not only because it’s set during the Republican Era, a particularly dark and turbulent period in Chinese history, but also because of the kind of romance it explores. So maybe dramas with this kind of story and setting just aren’t your cup of tea, which might be why this one isn’t quite clicking for you

Exactly. Ping Jun has been the catalyst for him since they were young, making him question how he’s been living his life and realize that he’s capable of being more than he thinks he is.

This drama is so addictive! Sometimes I stay up late, and other times I get up early just to watch the new episode, and I hate doing both. 😂

Exactly. I don’t read every dark romance book out there. I check what they’re about and what the content warnings are, and then I decide whether I want to read them. Some are pretty disturbing, and those are the ones I stay away from.

You could look at it this way: it’s not necessarily an invasion of her privacy if he’s doing it because he’s afraid someone might hurt her while she’s in such a vulnerable state. The nurse was literally going to kill PJ on his father’s orders. Who’s to say someone else wouldn’t poison her food or hurt her under the guise of helping her bathe?

That said, their relationship is never going to be a healthy one. That’s not what this story is about. Dark romance explores just how far obsessive love can go.

Is he taking advantage of this whole situation for his own benefit while showing her his obsessive, unwavering devotion? Yesss, absolutely. 😂 Does he feel guilty about what he’s doing? Also yes. But that’s not going to stop him. He’s never been the good guy. He’s a bad guy with a good heart. 🖤

Yeah!! If they read some of today’s dark romance authors, they’d lose their minds. 😂 This is tame compared to what happens in those stories.

I love him too. I don’t agree with his aggressive side or what he did in Feng Tai, but I’ve never hated him. And honestly, he’s had one of the best character development arcs I’ve seen since I started watching C-dramas two years ago.

I do want to make one thing clear, though: no matter how much Chang Xuan grows and matures, he’s always going to have morally questionable behaviors. That’s part of what makes him who he is within this fictional world.

And honestly, why would I deny it? 😂 I do have a soft spot for him because he’s played by my favorite actor, Cheng Lei. But that doesn’t mean I’m blind to his actions.
