Lin Gengxin rarely does kissing scenes, let alone love scenes but as a treat for their fans who have been waiting for their second collaboration for 7 years, he did them a favor. It was just a very weird love scene. I think Deng Ke, the director, should've had them re-film it but then, maybe they did and THAT was the best they could do. Hahah.

If you watch behind the scenes to raw footage of TPOB filming, you can tell that Liu Yuning and Song Zuer were super close, even enough to say perhaps they may have liked each other, so I really believe they were able to do such naturally sweet and hot love scenes because like Liu Yuning said when Song Zuer said the love scenes are all technical, but he said, NO, it's 80% real feelings. Haha.

I agree. Some parts of the ending were umm unnnecessary like when Wei Qu carried Wei Liang through the fighting scene and lost his arm. They should have left it at the scene when Wei Qu retrieved the body.

I like both actresses and characters but to me, they were different, one was more poised and the other, hilarious. The ways they fought their battles were different too but had their own flavor.

You can also watch The Legend of Shen Li Episodes 30-31 too if you haven't already done so. That drama shares the same director as The Prisoner of Beauty. It's a love scene between Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying. It was long, weird, and no chemistry. Liu Yuning and Song Zuer had to learn or re-enact this love scene, the script version, of this drama, since the drama version was filmed after. It would've been nice if the love scenes in TPOB were this long and actually had a cuddling scene after their love scene like this. But the chemistry in TPOB is undefeated. I mean, they could have filmed a cuddling scene but got cut, since 4 episodes were cut. Don't know.

Awe man, they're short dramas, so I brush through them, not even finishing, and move on, so I don't even remember the names. There's so many smut short dramas that have bad acting and stories.

However, if you're bored and want to see other love scenes, these are two short dramas that have an okay storyline and decent acting with good kissing/love scenes that I actually completed. You may or may not enjoy them, but I did. Of course, they could never compare to TPOB, but these two dramas, love scenes in particular, are pretty HOT!😂 But the plots could be a bit rough, repetitive, and cringy at times. 🤭

Agree with you 100%. I've clicked on some people's profiles before, the ones who complain about SZE on here and Weibo/Douyin/XHS, 9/10 times, their bias can't even. 😂

I totally agree with you. SZE is sooooo sought after right now, she has the most melons right now for dramas. Everyone wants to work with her. I've seen so many comments praising her acting saying how she's had three dramas this year, Ban Xia from The Demon Hunter's Romance, Xiao Qiao aka Manman from The Prisoner of Beauty, and Cui Bingbing from Created in China yet you can't see the shadow of one character in the next. She's so versatile. SZE has always been a certified good actress even before her incident that froze her for two years. It's just that, she doesn't take the traffic star road, which a lot of us watch. We as international viewers may not be familiar with her work but China is. She's pretty well known as a great actress.

It's preferences in the end. It's this drama that made everyone in China realize how pretty and grown up SZE is. No one doubts her acting. Haha. She's been avoiding ancient dramas for the longest time.

A lot of us can't move on either. In hindsight, the delay of this drama was perfect timing. The dramas this year have been bad, so thank goodness we got this one this year. This year is a REAL drought for good stories and awesome cast.😎

You may cry, depending on which character you become a fan of. I think this drama does a great job at balancing comedy, love, and other life lessons well without being too sad or funny.

These kissing to love scenes in here were real chemistry. I've seen a lot of love scenes that are more intense or longer from short dramas but they lack chemistry. The ones in here are perfect.
